I have just finished watching this video. It is brilliant, the scenery, the viaducts, 43251's engine... Thank you very much Ben.... really appreciate this.
Oh this is a huge one! See it when i have time. Plymouth - London i have seen om the last day of 1 certain operation. So to Penzance is the final nail in the coffin. Hope it does not dissapoint.
That is a seriously beautiful route, the view crossing the Tamar into Cornwall is outstanding. Used to travel to Cornwall on holiday trains back in the 80's and spend the holiday running up and down the main line and the branches on a rover ticket. One of those videos that are good at 0.5x speed with the sound off. A shame to rush them !
This is the only part of England that I never have visit yet. BTW this class 43 I was riding them from London to Edingburough when they was new in the 70th and they are still going strong.
Track geometry: Uses transducers and accelerometers to measure the up and down movement of the train and the shape and movement of the rail head Track faults: Uses a Plain Line Pattern Recognition (PLPR) system to detect faulty track components with lasers and cameras Data collection: Can collect around 10 terabytes of data for every 440 miles traveled.
wow so it was you who went past my house just after laira loco shed i thought i heard a HST after lipson junction on right next to tracks it was on friday 18 oct
It's been scrapped, years of sitting on grass took its toll on the chassis. Other bus projects in the pipeline though, we now have a few with some videos hopefully coming soon. The buses under restoration aren't mine so I am not in control of how long it takes.
Gods Wonderful Railway in all its splendor
Beautiful video. The weather conditions give it an ethereal quality.

An outstanding video, maintaining your high standard of excellence 👍. (That's a long flamin' walk along the seafront.)
Finally..... I've been waiting for this cab view run for ages. And now it's arrived.. hurrah
Nobody sits down coming round the estuary at Starcross - just a spectacular view 🤩🤩
Well done Ben - you made Exeter-Plymouth in a shade under 51min. Must be some 25yr since any passenger non-stop runs were in the timetable!😀
Seriously addictive!
Many thanks Richard
Hello Ben . Another excellent trip. Thank you. Roger
Thanks Ban and Colas.
The light was fantastic
Walked over the Tamar road bridge last weekend - spectacular views of the railway!

I'll watch it Monday
Oh my goodness it's so pretty!
Super film
saw myself on the platform in Truro lol
Nice video and best view I've seen going over the Royal Albert Bridge. One question- what does a measurement train measure?
Track geometry: Uses transducers and accelerometers to measure the up and down movement of the train and the shape and movement of the rail head
Track faults: Uses a Plain Line Pattern Recognition (PLPR) system to detect faulty track components with lasers and cameras

@dizstruxshon1012 Interesting. Thanks for the detailed answer

Who drives measurement trains? Anyone with route knowledge and HST cleared, or specialists?
A specific pool of infrastructure monitoring drivers
😎
Hi Ben. Brilliant video on brilliant train in brilliant counties! What I don't understand is, do you have a waiver for route learning?
No. I have to sign routes just like everyone else. I don't sign this route.
