Abseiling the same falls 3 times, that's dedication!

most people call it practice lol.. where else are we going to go? its was like a short 5 min scramble back up to the top.

@@tofuhiker Hah, good idea 😆 I should do something like that too - maybe I won't fall off the end of the rope then 🤣. I don't think I have ever abseiled the same waterfall twice 😅🥲

@@cravingkarst hahhaha you know the famous saying measure twice cut once? if unsure double the "beta" length and throw once ... man your on the extreme end of this sport, we are are on the other end! noobland hahaha we will take all the experience we can get and I wouldn't call Paddy's fall a waterfall in those condition. I think we will stick to dry rockfaces for now, getting submerge in water while trying to keep our footing on the cliff face doesn't sound appealing to me at all. lol.

@@tofuhiker Yeah - I should definitely that that suggestion up! One injury is enough for my lifetime :P
Funnily enough I am still considered a noob by a number people in the sport! There are a couple of FB posts discussing my incident once I posted the video

What doesn't kill you makes you stronger ... and you have a cool story to tell for years to come lol.

It's a good little day out that one!! You can spend all day there if you have multiple ropes, great for refining your skills! As for your Go Pro, try the easiest first, what sort of SD card are you using? If you're using a cheap/old one, there's your problem. If that doesn't fix it, try a reset and update, if that doesn't fix it, it's target practice time and go buy a new one LoL

yeah I was bored after the second time, Paul went for a 3rd run and he was also done, we were about to abseil of the other side but was afraid we won't have enough rope. Also I need to work on my camera angle on the abseil lol..terrible angle. Regarding the gopro, I have the scan disk extreme pro, decent quality SD, formatted it and then took it out to Paddy's still having issues so I resetted the gopro last night so hopefully fix the issue, if not I will get another SD card and give that a shot and see how it goes... if not then I will explain to my better half why I need another camera.

I like how you did not show or mention the steep and annoying 'warm up' fire trail section not long after the first creek. I hate that hill. btw Tofu have you done the walk in this same area up Spring Creek (and on to the Maroon summit if you like), and down the Maroon Gully? I led a group of four on this one a few weeks ago. It is worth doing, with some minor scrambles (or major scrambles alternatives if your adventurous) as well as three waterfalls I am told are climbable in Spring Creek, although we always just divert around them.

Hey Darren, the warm up fire trail lol, I didn't have the pleasure of going up it as we cut straight into the creek, I did descend it though on the way out :) , maybe for next time when I do the Maroon south route, I've had the Sping creek route on my list for awhile but was really waiting for the summer rain so the waterfalls would look nice. My mate @wilddonkey has done a video on the descent from Maroon summit down the gully. Are the waterfalls on Spring Creek big?

@@tofuhiker Not quite as high as Paddy's Falls, but two are definitely tall enough to be a good abseiling project. I have never seen more than a trickle in Spring Creek. I did the Spring Creek and Gully circuit once in the rain. The Gully becomes a slippery dangerous nightmare in the wet. After a good long rain, and a few days of sunlight, it would be a delightful slab descent..
