- Impossible Climb Arette returned back with a massive Hill Climb show at the heart of Pyrenees in Southwestern France, 21 August 2022.
The 38-year-old event, since 1984, challenges to the riders with its 230m climb with an elevation that varies from 70 to 82% at its steepest point. For all these years very few had the chance to see the top on their motorcycles and often, years past without no one being able to make it. We first filmed it in 2019 and in that edition, no one made it to the top. The event got cancelled both in 2020 and 2021 due to global pandemic.
Challenging to a hill this steep requires creating the purest dirt predators with ideas that are look like out of since-fiction movies. More than 60 riders hit the hill for four times throughout the day and only one made it to the top, Yohan Peltier - KTM 1190.
We tried our best to reduce the content we filmed by carefully picking only the best and we hope you enjoy it.

I don’t know where you’re from but they do hill climbing events in several countries including the US. The bikes are clearly specialty built for this abuse.

i can tell you one thing from personal experience: you can stand in front of a mountain/cliff/hill whatever and know: its possible to make it, but wont be easy. sometimes you get it at the first try ( hit a good trail ) , but then the hill wasnt hard enough. the real step hills are like: we try to get up there and everyone of us needs 3-5 tries for example. sometimes you make 10m and whatever happens. front or rear tyre slips , you miss the lane or whatever . in baddest case you fall down like pro in 10:00.. but that just can happen. the terrible at a event like this. you only have 2 or 3 passes. so if you fall on one and this is 0 pts.. doesnt makes you feel very happy ^^

The camera does not due this hill justice. It is a hell of a lot steeper than it looks and it looks pretty damn steep.

These guys are AWESOME, they're ALL GOOD , they could get better but it's very hard to practice for hills, they change every year, and every year the hill changes, and the hill even changes during the event , so every time you get on the bike it's all different every time. Yeah there can be only one winner , just riding a 100 to 250 hp bike up a hill takes a lot of skill and strength and balls ,that makes them ALL WINNERS ,too this old dirt bike rider Baja California 1999 7days 1550 miles my longest ride
