Chasing the Impossible waterfall part 2
The long awaited sequel to part 1 LOL =)... had to patiently wait for a big down pour of rain to revisit or was it an extended time to forget the pain the first attempt caused me =).. today reminded me all too well of the pain =)

Nothing beats good company and a failed mission lol... it's rare for Benny Boy to have a bad day, to keep his spirit high there were lots of banter on the hike. It's a shame we didn't make it to the summit as the majority of the "hard bits" was completed but as they say "Getting to the top is optional, getting back down is mandatory". Awesome video mate - thank you for sharing!
But you miss your chance of winning the Meilensteins or 250 to 1000xp and it looks really boring
ever checked out the massive caves you can see from kerry road?
It's on Private property owned by one of those B&B place, I've seen photos of the caves from the inside on their website =).. nothing too flash worth exploring really.
now that’s pretty bloody cool
where is the location of this beauty mate can you mention the starting point please
There are enough clues scattered in my videos to tell you where I am, I don't share my location as I don't want to encourage inexperienced hikers to venture outside their comfort zone. Those who are experience enough will piece the clues together and find the location.
Epic brother wow! Amazing waterfall👌 what a hectic mission that paid off
Thanks mate... type 2 fun just like your adventures =).. only wish our creeks flow more often through out the years like the canyons you visit down there.
@ for sure man! After our last dry spell the levels around here have been constantly nice🚰 keep up the missions brother
I can hear the humidity in this video. LoL
How can you hear humidity ??? it was actually a nice day, low humidity and was perfect hiking weather.. you're losing your touch mate lol.
@tofuhiker Usually when the cicadas are out it's super humid LoL.
@@Spacegoat92 now I get what you mean, its mating season for those bastards lol... so loud and deafening.
@@tofuhiker Good to see you still getting out and about mate
@@Spacegoat92 not as much as before.... saving money on petrol that's for sure but spending it on new toys hahaha... but yes going out exploring every now and then is a must.. what about yourself ? haven't seen you post or make any video in a long time...
"To be continued" is there a part 2?
There is no part 2, I went home after that ahhaha.. had plans to come back but then changed my mind.. =).. one day though its a big waterfall but need a lot of rain to make my next attempt worth while.
@tofuhiker haha all good. 👍
Kind of sucks spray painting shit out there, but the fact is people google these kinds of places and head out there with 0 experience navigating. Markers of some sort along the trail save a lot of search and rescue situations. A peice of cloth tied around a small branch would be nicer though! Stupid people will always be stupid, a marker is worth it if it saves someone having to come rescue them.
I have to disagree with you on this, if you want to find these places then learn the necessary skills to get yourself in and out, learn basic navigational skills, ask someone who has done it before to guide you, join a group hike so forth.. heading out with zero navigational skills and putting improper marking in nature is plain stupid in my books, any marking of any kind is absolutely unnecessary.
Trying to find palm grove circuit waterfall on your Mt tambourine video
Done a lot of walking around the border and far north NSW and have not come across this...must research more now. Thanks for the great video.
Your welcome, I hope you find the place.
Hey where is this in the GC? Springbrook, Lamington? As a geologist, I'd love to check this out!
Do you still need help finding it?
@@biokemical Naa I was able to figure it out, thankyou though.
That reminds me…should probably go back there 😅
once very few years... no point coming back so often =)
Wow!! That's incredible!
Yeh it's pretty neat.
Hey mate I have heard about the canyon a few years ago. I would love to try and do it this summer. Do you have any recommendations or gps points to use
Hey, check out wikiloc there are heaps of gpx trails there for yabba falls.
Great stuff. I miss it.
@@davidpbell thanks Barney is always fun which ever route you choose
🤣 Glad I didn't go down that way 2 weeks ago coming down off the SER ridge at night. Thought I was on SER til I'm like "Eh, why is the razorback over there?" checked GPS and I was off track. That looks brutal going down at night if I kept going.
yeah I think if you kept going you would of called SES hahaha..
Loved watching this, using it for our reference to get down!
@@ethanel-fadle9402 thank you, its worth the journey down, I will hopefully visit it again next time I'm in Sydney...
Nice hike 🤣 I’m so glad you attributed it to me haha. That ridge line looked crazy from the view at the end of the video.
😂😂... yeh looks cool hey but really isn't worth doing again ever hahha.. has bits and pieces of Logan and Eagles but half the fun...
Good adventure fella, I climbed Pages Pinnacle on the weekend after watching your videos. 😊
Did you enjoy it? pages is one of my favourites mostly because its close to home =).
@@tofuhiker Made me very happy, had it to myself for the most part. Even climbed up where you did that down climb on the way back to the start of the pinnacle. I want to do Mezzanine Ridge but I’ll probably shit myself 😂
@@hegarachi LOL... Mezzanine is fun =)... maybe ask someone to come along or do it in a group, mentally that would be 10x better than doing it solo, even the peer pressure of not letting the group down can give you more courage than you thought you had in you =).
Damm! I know that tone of voice. The tone of "Why on earth did I do this, I should have gone the easy route".
LOL! bro you know me too well! that's exactly the tone I had! there was an easier way but I thought I would save time by cutting across the spur in hindsight was a huge mistake.
@@tofuhiker But you made it out and now have a story to tell haha. And that's the core of a good adventure!
Bit of trivia, the fastest time up and down starting and ending at the pub is 22min 43sec
yes, I'm no athlete lol.. but that time is very impressive.
Walking though that lantana would have ripped you to shreds.
it sure did lol..
Glad you made it out of Lantanaville 😂. Stay safe 🤙
yeah, pain up the back side =)..
where does the "old" trail go (after you veered down to the creek)? Does it join up with Commando Track?
@@odescoeudres its been reclaimed by nature, it becomes a bush bash all the way as there no trace of the old trail left.

Whats the best way to get in touch I just have a few questions to ask I’m all so local from Gold Coast
right here in the comment section, happy to help where I can.
There are also some obscure peaks in Toonumbar National Park - Glassy Mountain and Edinburgh Castle Mountain. Don’t know if anyone has climbed them
@@Yuhanpeng3005 I've have done them a few years ago, not worth the effort.. :)...
Love ya work bud! Beautiful giant!
@@benjrubic6679 thanks mate... its time you join in some adventures again soon. Stop working so hard its just money lol..
Or just cheat like half the Zwifters do. Buy an app that lets you set the speed and plot a course. It took me a year to get the damn thing the old fashioned way and now I’m passed by people heading up volcano climb at 30 mph on a regular basis. Doesn’t matter, heading to Mywhoosh as soon as the month is out.
Good to see you back at it mate. Great looking waterfall mate.
I'm still going lol, too cheap to replace the go pro.. its f*ked half the thing I shoot goes ape shit hahaha so been lazy to record my hikes only take it on new exploratory hikes..
I was able to unlock my tron bike in just 4 months, all thanks to you. It took me 4 hours and 11 minutes to do 3100 meters of elevation in one day, and that's when I finally unlocked it.
Good on you !! enjoy your new ride =).
I've been to that one, has a concrete fireplace from the days NP made Billy-boiling facilities, correct? I appreciate how you don't publish routes. So people who go hunting are more likely to know their way around a map and not just repeat your track thus starting a trail.
Yeah, I always believe if you are capable and able you will find it, I leave enough clues in the video for those who watch it. Regarding the Billy-boiling facilities I'm not sure, I didn't see any reminisce of any facilities.
Did the falls walk in 1964 when I was 13. We walked up Running Ck from the old school house at the bottom of Mt Gipps. Rock hopped most of the way and indeed it was a very long way and a very long day. Got back in the dark.
how was the condition back then? was it worst or just the same as it was in this video?
@@tofuhiker The creek looked exactly the same but I can’t comment on the Stretcher Track as we didn’t go that way. FYI The falls featured in a 1949 movie by Charles Chauvel call Sons of Matthew…it was a dramatisation of the early life of the O’Reilly family. It would have been fun getting a film crew and cast into the place.
I grew up around Long, Findon, Sawpit, October and September Creeks. Used to go for bush walks everywhere there when I was younger. Some logging tracks but mostly like you guys did there, I would just start walking in a direction and see where I got to and turn back for home when time ran out.
It's beautiful there... I would love to explore that area a little more in the future.
Damn that track in has gone to shit, we used to ride motorbikes into there back in the early 80's. But that has happened to most of the places that national parks took over from forestry around here. Kudos to anyone who can walk though lantana with bare legs...
Looks like the start of the track to the Stinson crash site.
it's the same start as the stretcher track to Stinson but if you start further down Christmas creek rd and begin on the Larapinta trail it quicker and short to reach the crash site.
Is there a way to get off North Tum without a rope?
yes, you can do the whole route without rope, just keep left and find a way down then try to regain the elevation afterwards.
Looks beautiful. Enjoyed watching
Another quality Tofu adventure...
LOL!!! seriously I'm missing your content man.. has marriage life destroyed you?? come on put up some content haha
@@tofuhiker Hahaha. I was just talking about this with the wife this morning about how i need to do some more content, but it's just been so busy. I've got another car repair one thats almost ready and a cooking one i did, but it's the hiking ones i enjoy the most, they just take the most time cos i want them to be perfect LoL
@@Spacegoat92 mate just upload anything like I do .. end of the day the memories of the hike will still be there.. you need to edit it asap so you can remember the good bits of the hike lol..
Nice man, always good to get a good flow!
Hi, where is this?
Wow, impressive. Thanks for the video.
Wow did well!!
Thanks
Awesome mate! Like you said “you’ll cherish those moments” and your kids will thank you for it🙏 Nice waterfall, had never heard of that one👌
Thanks Sam, I really hope the kids will be thankful when they are older but honestly I just want them to fall in love with Nature like I have.. just love sharing my passion with them. Yes this is one of those falls that on the topo maps.
Wow looks a great hike, well done to your kids as well. Where did the hike start? Cheers.
Hi, there's a "Bohgaban Falls" map on Alltrails
so if you do a full climb you cant take advantage of the downhill speed to gain free altitude from it. with this method you gain say 50 m and translate that to speed which gives you, say, 10m up the other side yo uthen have to pedal 40m. so you save maybe 10% per 100m vertical plus get the benefit of recovery between reps but the downside must be extra time
Pretty sums it up except it doesn't take extra time as fatigue slows you down for a full climb vs recovery and repeat.
Great video! I came across your feed while looking for an idea of the rockhop to Coomera falls base (and Jel's video before I did thunder and lightning a couple of years ago) - hoping to do this bit with my girls in July :)
that's great you are getting your kids into nature, my kids also love it and I've also been spending a lot of weekends taking them out on new adventures. Coomera Gorge is one of my absolute fav, there so much more that just Coomera Falls down there, have you made it? you can either rock hop (longer) or take the mystery track (tricky navigation) down.
@@tofuhiker In a couple of months :) We have 3 nights at Binna Burra, hoping to make the most of it. Looks like the Mystery track is closed so I might go the rock hop route. Maybe go take a look at palm falls if going well!
@@deebot76 =) closed but still accessible lol.. the rock hop will be a long day on the creek 9-10 hours, if you still have daylight and reach the trib creek of Palm fall its only another 15mins upstream to the waterfall and is well worth the detour. You can always walk out at night on Illinbah track.
is it OK if I message you about a couple of things ?@@tofuhiker
@@deebot76 yeah no worries mate, If you have IG drop me a message "tofu hiker".
Thank you for sharing. This information is very useful for me to give ma chance to get to the pinnacle as I am not confident to cross that rock scramble
