My cousin and I were just speaking about how our childhoods the other day. And I realized how stuck I’ve been for years. There was so much trauma and pain. I am so happy for my recent conversion the Christianity. Nothing has helped me begin to heal more than developing a relationship with god. He placed me in a better place so that I could recover. It’s a long road, but he’ll be there with me along the way.
As someone who experienced foster care, neglect & abuse this meant the world. Its so nice to be reminded that we are worthy. Our childhood was not our responsibility & that alone is healing. Thank you for your foster care awareness as well! 🤗🥰
You really know everything! This his deep. All your videos do. Down to getting a B-, C in school, my car and phone would be taken. Then I had to find a way to school. Usually my dad who then was late for work and didn't live with us. I couldn't do my homework until chores were finished and I had to start working at 16 so coming home from work at 1am and doing homework then being told homework don't take that long in up doing other stuff. And having to leave by 5:30am to make it to school. And not being allowed to sleep in on the weekends, because I was wasting the day and had to clean the house. You are talking about all this and understanding everything! Thank you so much. My mentality has changed so much in the last week or so that I found you. My husband is noticing and really happy for me. I noticed he is more calm as well. ❤

If you are going to do a book club, I highly recommend it. Today’s video gave me more perspective and understanding about things the author mentioned regarding childhood trauma. I'm 34 and when my mom calls, still, it's a million and one questions. What are you doing, who's all there? I called like 5 times why didn't you answer, etc... over the past years I've become more vague and she's slowed it down. I just can't take being controlled and ultimatums anymore. She interferes with how I parent my kids and I just had to distance myself. Talking to her doesn't help.

I listened to this podcast yesterday and it touched me so deeply. I have been reflecting on my childhood and behaviors and deeply ingrained negative thought patterns that have permeated my thinking. As a young Christian, I keep reading the Bible and asking God for forgiveness and real change. I want real peace, real love, and a healthy relationship with myself. This video has encouraged me to keep changing the ''old me'' I want to be the woman God created me to be. Thanks Dr. Michelle

Great message! I’ve always wondered how does one confidently and fully know if they’ve been healed? I thought I had fully healed from childhood trauma but as I get older, the feeling of rejection and abandonment ever so often show up 🥹 I just want to move on with my life 😅
Thank you honey. It's tough when that happens and it can happen for a variety of reasons. Have you ever sought therapy to give you tools on how to handle those feelings when they happen so they don't fester? Have you given your life to Jesus? Sometimes there may need to be deliverance that needs to take place. It all depends but I do pray you receive freedom from those thoughts trying to hold you back.
