  • ROG Swift OLED PG27AQDM is a 27-inch 1440p (2560 x 1440) OLED gaming monitor with a 240Hz refresh rate, 0.03ms response time, and anti-glare coating. It has been designed with cooling in mind, featuring a custom heatsink and improved internal airflow to lower the average temperature by 5% compared to other 27-inch OLED gaming monitors. The monitor also has intelligent voltage optimization for consistent pixel luminance, a uniform brightness feature, and DisplayWidget Center software for adjusting OLED-related functions and system settings. It has high HDR performance, a wide color gamut, and accurate color reproduction, with the ability to display deep black hues and high brightness. It will be released in the first quarter of 2023.

Monitor prices are ridiculous. If you want HDR and OLED get a C2 at 42 inch. This little thing from Asus will be more expansive than the LG 27 inch OLED which is already more expansive than a C2. Prices will be even more ridiculous when these things come with 4k at 32 inches.

Monitor looks incredible, I told myself I'll wait for 4k but this monitor is truly the 1440p Endgame. Will probably pick one of these up but will still be waiting for the true 4k 240hz Endgame.
The heatsink on this is fantastic, the design is great, everything about this monitor is perfect other than the matte finish.

  • @commodore256

I hope there will be future OLED monitors after this, the nice part of 1440 is it's an integer scale of 720, 480 and 320, great for pixel art gaming and budget 720p gaming on say a Xbox 360 in 720p mode or a new game on a budget rig without all the non-integer scailing artifacts and good for just 1440p gaming for if you can't quite afford a GPU that can render 4k and go to the next best thing. A lot of people don't like 1440p because it's a stopgap, but it plays nice with retro resolutions that 4K doesn't play nice with and most non-pixel art games have a 720p mode and you can just resample 1080p or 4k video and it's fine. I feel 4K is the stopgap for 8k

Finally! 👏 Every single spec I can stand behind! Tired of seeing only curved, ultra wide, 4K...
I got the OG IPS PG279Q when it was released years ago and since then the only worthy upgrade I've been hoping for was a similar OLED with higher refresh rate. Still 2K 16:9, not curved, 27" (maybe 32" absolute maximum). Perfect PPI sweet spot, 100% desktop scaling (I insist on that!), a resolution with the actual ability to reach those high frame rates without tricks. Let's go! 🔥

I really don't understand other manufacturers using OLED panels on monitors without heatsinks. OLED displays are already very expensive and adding a heatsink will increase the price very little if any. And some useless features like RGB and speakers can also be removed to keep the similar price.
So thank you ASUS for making OLED with heatsink to extract most performance and longevity :)

    • @maozedowner5915

@@romanino It's situational actually, I'm an enthusiast gamer and also would prefer glossy but I tend to prefer darker environments and even at night have few if any lights on. As such glossy would result in better visuals in most cases.
That being said common gamer aesthetics like RGB lighting etc will need to be considered on top of standard lighting so I would agree some sort of matte finish is probably overall a safer bet. Plus they would then not have to worry about more average consumers not taking into consideration room lighting/reflections reducing ratings.

I hope you guys choosed Glossy version because if it is matte-anti reflective that would be a really nice fail... This monitor has literally everything that I am looking for! Hopefully, its glossy...

100%. Keep seeing all the specs but not yet seen anything about the finish. I'll only buy an OLED monitor with a glass front after owning an OLED TV with the same. A matte finish would tarnish OLED.

Looks matte. Be fine in dark room but yeh not ideal during day

@@walker2006au Shame. Then I won't buy it. OLED behind matte is like cleaning your glasses them spraying them with dust.

@@HalfDayHero it's no diff to an IPS being matte. The native contrast of IPS is just lower.
The alienware qd-oled is matte and an amazing display. Gaming in a well lit room is gaming wrong.

@@walker2006au I know its no different to an IPS being matte, that's not my point. My point is I don't want a matte panel at all. I much prefer glass. Even in pitch black, glass still looks better.
