      Another rebodied Lola T-70 chassis
      They were CHEAP by 1970
      No longer competitive in CanAm
Nor the T-70 Chevy Coupes in FIA WSC races

David Pipers 917 was a real accident...
      While filming...

      No SEFAC cars were used

Any car that is a partial car (for locked down camera operation) or any car that crashes has to be a "kit car" made of fiberglass castings. If they appear to be legit metal (such as debris in a crash) then that's likely just a touch of CGI added in.
And that's the way you SHOULD do effects. Get as much "in-camera" as you can and use computer graphics only as needed.
But I LOVE the fact that it appears (though I could be wrong) that they used as many of the actual real cars as possible whenever possible. Such as at the start of the Le Mans race. Those engine sounds straight off the camera pick-up wasn't faked in the studio!

That's a Tub rig, (Or that's what I think they call it). They attach the back half of the car to this super fast semi truck and tow it around the track. The reason why, is the camera equipment is so heavy, the car probably couldn't safely travel at the speeds needed to make the shot look legit. (Plus a GT40 is slow low, he probably couldn't see either) HD cameras, and the robotic stuff needed for some of these shots are extremely hard to do without weighing the car down with shit.

Nice fake 330P3's but they had TWO exhaust pipes.
And the roofline profile is not quite perfect...
Saw my first P3 at Sebring, 1966
Italian Labor Union issues kept SEFAC from sending the whole team
So we had the lone Bob Bondurant 330 P3 (#846 )and a Dino 206SP for poor Banders...
NART had their 365P2/3 for Pedro....
    Other independent older cars....
I was there at The Hairpin

J Hutch so am I. Did you not know that the GT40 was designed and built in England by Eric Broadley, Roy Lunn, and John Wyler, Englishmen all. Indeed, Ford set up FAV in England to build the car because they felt that that’s where the expertise was. Later Kar Kraft built the MKIV stateside, but that wasn’t the version of turn car that won in ‘66 which is what the movie is about.
