    The infomercial opening was the best. Lol. I've been meaning to get a 3x4 binder instead of the 3x3 so I can just have more cards to look at each page.

    Loving this video. You gave a lot of great advice. About the only thing I would have mentioned is unless you keep your collection lock tight in a closet or safe, moisture/grime is always bound to get to these plastic pages and will make them look dirty over time. This is something I’ve learned the hard way a while back and I’m kept being reminded about every so often too

    •  2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    I use the Ultra•PRO pokemon card sleeves too and as a tip with them for anyone who didn't already know you can fit two to four (maybe more best with only two though) in each of the nine slots.

    •  2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I agree with this! I do have some with like 3 or 4 in there, starts to get pretty tight lol 2 is safe

    Lol great video! I started out ambitious and wanted to collect every set instead of focusing one at a time but iv since got some organisation. I ended up doing a lot of documents and stuff to work out exact folders I needed and labeled them all up. Then the cards themselves stay in a box till I get enough to start placing them in folders. I just enjoy sorting and organising things lol always good to see how others do things though :)

    Awesome video and very informative. My son is 6yrs old and just got into Pokémon. I found it kind of interesting. He wanted to start collecting cards. I figured since we’re new and starting fresh that it would be easier to stay organized from the beginning. It seemed a little overwhelming at first. But I think we’re getting the hang of it the more we talk to other collectors and watch more videos. Thanks for the info.

    •  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

    I definitely use my Elite Trainer Box, and the Pokemon Tins as a storage for all my bulk....the best thing about it is you can still have the Elite Trainer Boxes out for display in the house. The special cards are stored in a zip up binder with side loading so no dust can damage the cards since the penny sleeve is open up top by using a side loading binder all 4 sides are covered from outside elements.

  • @Reebs013
    @Reebs013 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Awesome video! I don’t usually keep in the binder both regular and reverse holo of my cards I usually just keep whatever is the best version of my card in the binder and store the rest but maybe I should display both 🤷🏼‍♀️ thanks for the tips 👍🏻

    •  2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Love the vid! One thing I love to do is buy the flat red Ultra Pro Sleeves and put them in the slots where I'm missing cards. Then I can't see through the page and when i enter new cards, I get a stack of red sleeves saying how many new i got!

      @ i like to write on a lil square of paper the name of the card I'm missing, put it in a card sleeve and slip that into a space on the card sheets in the binder so i know at a glance exactly what I'm missing. Also it stops me from messing up and forgetting to leave room for different formes etc xD

      I love this viedo and how to sort I would also love to know how to sort by Era is there a certain symbols or type I should look for?

    •  ปีที่แล้ว

      Absolutely! I do recommend sorting by set first. Usually the set symbol/icon is on the lower left or right corner of the card (at least for more present day cards). I have some examples of what to look for at around 0:44 in the video of what the symbols look like. Hope that helps!

    Great video! But what do you normally do when you have multiple types of the same card with the same card/set number? In my case I got some holos and normal cards out of the vivid voltage set, bot of them having the same card number. I am hesitant to put them under each other in the same spot

    •  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you!
      With my duplicates I will sleeve up any holo cards and then put them in one of the storage boxes. I linked some in the description if you need any. This way if I ever need to trade or sell, they’re there safe and organized 😄

    I have a wholenother issue. I use the number system (without the type) for all my cards and the sockets just can't hold the cards even though its only two pokemon. I am not sure if I need another binder to hold the cards that don't fit. Or don't have it double sided. But I don't really want to go through all that. But I might have too...

  • @matthewl1187
    @matthewl1187 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    I recently got back into Pokemon cards. I really enjoy the card game itself and the collecting aspect as I used to be into baseball cards years ago. I just sorted my cards into basic/stage 1/stage 2 by energy types and put them in Ultra Pro 100 count plastic cases. I put a playset at most of each Pokemon in each just for deck building purposes. My Trainer cards are going in 4 slot binders to be easily accessible for deck building. I'm a standard format type player so every rotation, I'll just rotate out all that are no longer legal to play. Sounds simple enough. My dilemma is all my dupes. I'm thinking of getting some sleeve pages like you have and just put them in order by set. My son and I both collect and we have accumulated a lot of cards in the past month or so. I'm thinking my reverse holos and holos will go in nicer binders to show off. Energies are currently thrown into 100 count BCW set boxes. Lol As far as collecting, I really like all of the gold secret rares. I've never really been a set builder myself. Good video. Different opinions and ideas are nice.

    •  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Nice! Welcome back to the hobby 😄 that system makes sense for the deck building, gotta have them easily accessible!
      Yeah love hearing all the different methods people use especially when the ultimate goals are different. I play fairly casually so my focus is more on keeping the sets together and making those display pieces. Maybe I'll have to revisit this video concept later to incorporate that, thank you for the insights!

    Would you recommend keeping the sets together, eg fusion strike and darkness ablaze or just sort them all together, I'm thinking of building a deck but no idea where to start lol

    •  ปีที่แล้ว

      For binders, I prefer to keep the sets separate but if the sets are small enough or only have so many of the set, I’ll put them in one binder.
      For decks, you wanna choose whatever best cards you can that work together. As long as they’re in legal play currently 😅

    Oh oh another fun thing to do, most people don't like putting super rare cards in a binder with their bulk, so what I do is insert an energy card matching that card's type in the slot. So if I have a Full art Charizard I would want in a top loader elsewhere, I'll put a fire energy in it's place to mark that I've collected it :)

    •  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Oooo another solid idea. Might have to adopt this one since I in fact am in this situation lol. Thank you!

    The issue I have is having sooo many different sets that I've lost touch since Gen 2 all of these different logos are extremely difficult to understand what set they come from for me I would like to know how many sleeves would I need per binder to add each set from each Generation so I can make a separate binder for each one

      Ooo yeah that is gonna be some work but super gratifying. One of the better databases to look that up easily is m.bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/List_of_Pok%C3%A9mon_Trading_Card_Game_expansions

    •  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nice! They are mostly an organizational tool. Just a good way to make a clear separating point in the cards. Some people will divide up cards in their card storage box by set or maybe by rarity for example.

    So should i put my GX cards on the ending pages and trainers on the first and rares on the middle?

    •  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Personally I just follow the set numbers. takes a lot of guess work out of it for me and removes a lot of shifting of cards. I like to see what gaps I have in the collection and get the gratification of sliding that card into place lol. But! If you want all your big hits together, there’s nothing wrong with that 😄

    Is there a way to tell what promo cards are from which set?

    •  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      By the numbers on the bottom corner of the card, there should be some letters. Like SWSH, SM or XY to help with organizing. Unless you’re going vintage, that might vary

  • @consistentt
    @consistentt 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    What if you are new to Pokemon and your cards are from tons of different sets? Mine were given to me so a lot of them don't match up...

    •  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Really good question. I have a stack of cards like that myself. I still like to sort by set and number in that set. This way they are still kinda organized. Then after protecting the holos in sleeves I put them in a storage box for safe keeping.
      You could do the same in a binder as well, but maybe just fill all the spots until you can acquire of that set.

    •  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I’ve also seen cool collections where they sort just by type. So like all the water type cards together on pages for example. Or even the high priced ones up front. Kinda depends on your goals and how you want to display them

    Question what if you have two different cards and different age but the same number?

    •  ปีที่แล้ว

      If they are different looking I would put them in their own binder. Sometimes you can find one Pokémon in many different sets.
      But if it’s the same card from the same set, I try to keep my best looking one in a binder and then I have a box of extras I keep

    I'm trying to wrap my brain around how to sort my cards still. I have 1416 cards, 132 which are energies. The cards I own are from 39 different sets, in 11 of the 39 sets have >20 cards, and some of the cards I have are from tins/promo cards. 523 of my cards are from Unbroken Bonds, and only 2 of my cards are from the Base Set. Trying to figure out how many binders and sleeves I will need. It's a mess!

    •  ปีที่แล้ว

      Oof that’s definitely a complex one. Typically I try to group it all by set, and then numerically. But having those sets where you have just a few cards makes them awkward to squeeze in. The promos though, I like to organize those just all together personally.
      Good luck though! The sorting never ends lol

    • @vahn_legaia
      @vahn_legaia ปีที่แล้ว

      @ Thought I'd give you an update. I ended up with 2 binders, one for Holos (unique and dupes) and one for Uniques (non-holo cards, 1 of each), sorted each binder by type of pokemon, then I put all my non-holo dupes in ziplocks by type inside an ETB holder. Works really well!

    •  ปีที่แล้ว

      Nice! Seems really organized for showing off and potentially trading if you were taking them out and about. I dig it!

    What if you’re just buying to select certain cards? Sort by value and liking or what do you suggest?

    •  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Depending on the goal, I would personally go by chronological order. But if you are looking to display them, the high value ones being first definitely sounds rad.

    •  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I mean it’s your collection, you can put them however you want! Personally I’m a little nit picky, and I would separate them. But maybe in the same binder? Maybe different ones if I could find a rad binder for the old cards
