My favorite moment collecting Pokémon cards was getting my hands on my childhood collection a few months ago. I collected from 1999 to around 2008 and I thought they were all gone. When my mom called to tell me she found them I was super excited but wasn't sure if they were all still there. Much to my surprise one of the first cards I pulled out of the box was a Shining Gyarados. Not only did this blow my mind but it felt like everything just came full circle. Cheers Rev I love your channel!
I'm so happy this worked out for you and it's been quite the journey watching this over the years! My favorite memory with Pokemon has got to be at the very begining. My Dad was traveling a lot for work and my brothers and I would miss him so much. He made it a point to always bring home gifts for us and they were always so special. Back in 1999 after one of his trips, my Dad brought me home a base starter set and a few loose packs. That gift was so awesome and led me down a 23 year path of collecting and playing Pokemon!
When I was little me and my dad used to go to a card shop where they would give you three packs if you had good grades and I got three evolutions I remember vividly pulling a holographic charizard.
I remember when that video dropped and I felt so bad for you, trying to think of some way you could get your money back. I’m glad you could find some redemption from this. My favorite memory has to be working hard for my grandmother on the weekends doing chores to buy jungle and fossil packs from her local card shop, my two favorite sets to this day

Since you kept trying, now all of the community can watch your amazing videos everyday! I know the giveaway is long over, but my favourite memory about opening Pokémon cards is about my mom. Not just one opening but every opening I do she loves to sit down with me and watch as I do them. She’s always so, so supportive and wants to learn how the cards work so she can support me. And I will treasure the time we spend together opening packs more than I’ll treasure the cards themselves.
5 years ago I lost my 4th collection I watched you and other collectors who do what you do, and I still gave up but watched and watched, then I met a friend who had kids whom collect cards, I decided to take a $2500 loan, and I spent $2000 on Pokémon cards booster boxes and packs some graded stuff, I bought some bulk stuff, the kiddos are going through them with me, and I have about 20,000 cards, I got 2000 more from our local card store for $75, and I am trying to do what my goal was 12 years ago when I was 16/17, which is collect every Pokémon card from every generation and I know it’s gonna be much harder now then it was back then. I remember my heart dropping when I saw the second edition Charizard. I still, have them today, and I've kept them in the best condition I could since! I was around 10 at the time.

My favorite moment actually just happened to me not too long ago, I went to my neighborhood comic book store looking for the What if...? comics and I saw that they made another run of shining fates so I bought a randomETB and hit the shiny charizard!!! It was pretty awesome... That and I got to give the umbreon alt (that I totally pulled out of 3 packs!!!) To my wif for our anniversary... Thank you for everything you do man, you're a true inspiration
That's crazy, I recently just got into collecting again and you're the only pokemon card youtuber I've found that I've enjoyed so to hear you almost quit but didn't is awesome
2:55 I barely comment on videos but as soon as you said that my brain went through all my memories of the Pokemon TCG and I can actually tell you my best and worst moment^^ so my best moment is actually when my brother bought me a little collection box with I guess 4 booster packs inside (Shining Fates) for 35€. I actually told him that it wasnt necessary and that its way to expensive but he said its all good its a present money doesnt mean anything. And from that box... I actually pulled the shiny charizard VMAX and I told him that its such a big hit and I was so happy. he even said to me he has never seen me that happy which made me also realise how I keep my feelings to myself all the time (good and bad ones). And also my worst moment even tho you didnt ask for it was when I was 6 years old and I was on a "flea market" and someone sold a base set charizard for 10€ but I only had 8... and my mom actually said she wont buy it because 10€ for one card is to expensive... I managed to get some awesome cards in my childhood but I never was able to get a base set charizard... makes me sad till now because I still own all my old cards and charizard is still missing... :c
Yeah he got his money back on this but people saying "he beat the scammer" or "bet the scammer is sad now"... like... no... the scammer got $10k at the time for what was mostly worthless cards, and the scammer also still had all of the actual english first edition cards they swapped out of the packs... So like... the scammer still won in the end.
nah i’m the scammer and the night I sold these, I got hit by a bus and perished. last thing I saw was the real first edition base set packs flying out of my backpack and landing into the sewer nearby. the bus screeched after hitting me, crashing onto its side, busting open the gas tank and filling the sewer with gas. a nonchalant bus passenger hopped off the bus through the back, and lit a cigarette. he finished that cigarette in two puffs, but the end was still lit with a faint red glow. he dropped the butt and it lit the remaining gas that missed the sewer grate. the flame traveled towards the grate and blew up the sewer, along with my cards. the explosion caused the bus to fly into the air, maybe 10 feet. it landed on the ground upright. everyone got off and walked to their stops, while a strange array of ripped up pieces of pokemon cards rained down from the sky. a particularly stubborn piece of pokemon card flew miles to a familiar youtuber, PokeRev. it was a tiny piece of paper that flew into his open window on the quiet night. it read “first edition”. not knowing what it meant, he went to bed, having dreams of ripping cards and having fun in the hobby once again. this reignited his passion for pokemon, and ultimately stopped him from quitting.
The scammer bought AirPods with his 10,000 bucks and didn’t hear a bus coming and got run over, and Chicago bus drivers are legally allowed to run over three people per year so there were no repercussions.
My favorite memory so far is taking my 5 year old daughter to the local card store and us rummaging through their basic cards. They sell them for .25 cents and watching her get to hand select old school jiggly puffs, Squirtle, cubone, Psyduck and whatever else that catches her. Of course we buy packs still but going the card store once a month is fun. We spend like 40 and get a bunch of cards.
I discovered your channel just recently and I have been watching your videos for the past few days. It is a very good thing that you did not quit back then and instead came back stronger. Thank you Rev!
Thankyou for not quitting and battling thru when you got scammed from 10k in Pokémon cards..Absolutely love your videos!! My greatest moment was when i finally got the peel back card to discover the ditto!
What an amazing reverse situation, the term "reverse" got a whole new meaning! 😆👌 I've had my moments too with people that are sending fake cards or no cards at all... Also get a lot of reactions below your video's, probably nothing to respond to, just to be safe.... Still collecting though and always try to be fair to everyone, that keeps it a fun hobby. Keep it up man, you bring Pokémon to another level 👊🏻
Just shows how psa grades incorrectly to keep the better cards pop lower they didn’t care to give you 5 abras in a 10 grade but made sure to limit your charmander and Squirtle
God imagine scamming the shit out of somebody and then realizing if you were just a good person and genuine collector that you could've had so much more. They took a huge L in morals, karma and collectibles. Congrats!!
My favourite Pokémon moment for me was when my family went on a holiday back in 2001 and my cousin bought along his game boy with the Pokémon game. As soon as I started playing I fall in love so much adventure and trying to find Pokémon. That’s how it all started for me
My favorite moment was: I hadn’t bought or even looked at a Pokémon card since like 2000 ish, bought one burning shadows pack as kind of joke and pulled the Zard, I’ve been hooked ever since.
I made a really dumb trade of my entire Pokémon card collection when I was 10 to a much older neighbor. It came to be one of my biggest regrets. I recently made the goal of completing an entire collection of the original 151 Pokémon. I’m just looking for a well priced Charizard to finish it off. Would love a graded card to add to my collection! Keep on keeping on PokeRev!
I never had the money to collect before, and when I was younger, we didn't have anything pokemon in my country 😅 now, I have the money and only just recently started buying them, you're one of the first that drew my attention.
My favourite moment was opening number 4 ETB box Pokémon Celebrations, last card, from the last packet was a Charizard that box was given to me by my son for my birthday. Happy, very happy you recuperated your money with interest. Keep on Poke reving!!
It's a pleasure to see your channel grow, my heart is happy! Keep it up, we will always support you, PokeRev! My favorite memory/moment is when I bought two packs of chilling reign completely at random last year. It reintroduced me to the world of Pokemon, as I dreamed of having a huge collection as a kid. And here we are!
My favorite moment has to be any time i buy my sister pokemon cards for her birthday or christmas. 3 kids and She doesnt have a flexible income so I get to see her face when she gets to open cards. It always makes me smile. Ill always get her an etb, a big set box, and some booster packs.
This is why pokemon cards are just an amazing investment, at some point all of todays cards will be vintage and go for crazy prices. Safe bet is the fan favourites and just sit on them for years
Good to see you make your money back. I am very new to collecting Pokemon cards and I am very afraid of getting scammed. Unfortunately there are always people banking on others inexperience or carlessness...
25 years ago, I remember when I couldn't buy a single pack because money was an adult thing. My dad would disagree strongly with "wasting money" on these pack but did buy me a few since I enjoyed them a lot. Fossil, jungle, base set 2 they were amazing and precious to open :)

Man, that was an awesome video. So glad you will make it back!
My favourite memory was honestly finding my old cards at my parents house last year. Just flipping through the binder and having the nostalgia. Then finding your channel shortly after has been such a nice escape!
I love this video because you get the last laugh in this. I hope the scammer feels so stupid.
What did the scammer do again? Give him Spanish cards? He pulls nothing but graded English here.
this is actually a crazy story :o
Hey MontclairBear
weird seeing you here
@@crazyibbyclips3322 yeah isn’t it strange that a youtuber is watching someone look at Pokémon cards? How’s that weird
@crazycrazyo ok mb
@@crazyibbyclips3322 sorry people saying that it’s strange that a verified person is watching a video annoys me
15:56 was that a dig a Paul Logan and his GI Joe collection 😂
I love how karma techinally went back on the scammer as they thought you scammed you so long ago, but look who's laughing now.
Scammer still won bc the English cards are worth more if the scammer was smart he wouldn’t have even put Pokémon cards in there but it’s good to know rev still came up
@@wolfpackwarriors Yeah, but maybe he didn’t even have the English cards so 🤷♀️ who knows. I’ve been given empty booster boxes for packs I never bought boxes for so…🤷♀️
But true, he could’ve put in like G.I. Joe cards in there probably or something. Its good that he came out on top :D
I couldn’t imagine being scammed out of $10000, I’d be heartbroken! So glad you could persevere
It's a little less bad when you're a business owner since it's a tax write off expense
@@gregdoh Someone still had to pay 10K
@@zipy4900 yup, us taxpayers. And I'm not saying it still isn't bad for Pokerev- I'm sure he would have rather had that $10k to spend on other business expenses, assets, etc.
@@gregdoh Well the government wastes majority of the tax money anyways so might as well use them for pokemon
@@zipy4900 100%. Overall, business owners do much more for our communities and country than our gov with money.
"Why can we not just all be like Bill? ' Laughed so hard about that xD
That gift was so awesome and led me down a 23 year path of collecting and playing Pokemon!
i can’t imagine how you felt but i’m so glad you prevailed, you are an inspiration!!
Right on Rev! Glad there is a slightly Silver lining to the story! All the best, and much more success brother!
My first card was when the mew promo card came out for the Pokémon movie #BestCardEver
When I was little me and my dad used to go to a card shop where they would give you three packs if you had good grades and I got three evolutions I remember vividly pulling a holographic charizard.
Atleast the scammer didnt put indian pokemon cards 😂
He would’ve immediately known something was off because of the smell
I remember when that video dropped and I felt so bad for you, trying to think of some way you could get your money back. I’m glad you could find some redemption from this. My favorite memory has to be working hard for my grandmother on the weekends doing chores to buy jungle and fossil packs from her local card shop, my two favorite sets to this day
I'm so glad you made your money and more back. Thank you for not quitting. I absolutely love your videos❤❤❤
My favorite was when I got a sun and moon pack and got a break that was my best open ever!🎉
I’m so happy that you were able to beat the scammer! I’m also so glad that you didn’t give up Pokémon collecting when you got scammed. Since you kept trying, now all of the community can watch your amazing videos everyday! My personal favorite Pokémon memory was when I was around 6 or 7 and I would always buy those collection boxes from Walmart. There was never a specific box I opened that had some really amazing card in it but those memories are really nostalgic to me and I wish I could have that amazing feeling opening those boxes back!
Lucky for us that you keep going rev, without ya we will miss the excitement and experience to open packs and thanks for all the amazing videos. I can’t purchase all that expensive cards but just by watching your videos already made me happy and excited. My favourite moments was when i pull charizard vstar from buying 3 booster packs and I’m so happy because of that. Thanks for the every amazing videos it means a lot to us🤞
The scammer got scammed on this one. Glad you didnt quit Pokerev.
Now you just got to try sell them to make your money back!😂
I know the giveaway is long over, but my favourite memory about opening Pokémon cards is about my mom. Not just one opening but every opening I do she loves to sit down with me and watch as I do them. She’s always so, so supportive and wants to learn how the cards work so she can support me. And I will treasure the time we spend together opening packs more than I’ll treasure the cards themselves.
Favorite moment... opening the Dragon Majesty box, I just love dragons so that was cool
I love watching these videos man and sorry you got duped, but I’m happy you didn’t quit and that you kept going cause you have am awesome channel!
How do I message you, can we use email by chance?
Also I took 30 minutes to message after reading this cause I was shell shocked because I love watching these videos so much! Takes me back to when I was a kid, and I love seeing the reactions!
You looked exactly the same 7 years ago LMAO
Bros ageless
One of my favorite moments from collecting pokemon cards was when I was a kid, and for Christmas, my mom's friend gave me all of his old pokemon cards. these were all base set cards and there were holographics. I remember my heart dropping when I saw the second edition Charizard. I still, have them today, and I've kept them in the best condition I could since! I was around 10 at the time.
Just sitting here going back watching old videos listening to my wife snore next to me. Lol much love to rev for sticking around and keeping on keeping on. Look where your at now brother
I cant find the video of him opening the resealed booster box. Is it on youtube?
You think the dude that scammed you watched this video? Lol
Thank u for not giving and continue down this path. All ur fans are grateful to u and we appreciate all that u done, especially sharing your collection. ❤️
Keep doing what you're doing rev, you're bringing joy to millions and I just want to say that I really respect that, not everyone has positive things in their lives all the time but you give us that hour of bliss to get us through. Thank you for everything you do man, you're a true inspiration
That's crazy, I recently just got into collecting again and you're the only pokemon card youtuber I've found that I've enjoyed so to hear you almost quit but didn't is awesome
2:55 I barely comment on videos but as soon as you said that my brain went through all my memories of the Pokemon TCG and I can actually tell you my best and worst moment^^
so my best moment is actually when my brother bought me a little collection box with I guess 4 booster packs inside (Shining Fates) for 35€.
That moment I pulled the OG blastoise… I’ll never forget it
Man I’m so glad you stuck with it you are my favorite TH-cam channel rev
My favorite moment lands in September of 2023 where my first pack of Pokémon was astral radiance where I pulled full art irida
Dont forget uncle sam wants 20% of everything you sell :D
He can us the cards as tax right off because of being a youtuber and call it a business expense.
Im so happy that u could recover the entirety of the scam money and even have more!
The scotch tape on the packs is hilarious 😂
I discovered your channel just recently and I have been watching your videos for the past few days. It is a very good thing that you did not quit back then and instead came back stronger. Thank you Rev!
My fav moment was when you pulled the shiny charazard vmax for the first time
Thankyou for not quitting and battling thru when you got scammed from 10k in Pokémon cards..Absolutely love your videos!! My greatest moment was when i finally got the peel back card to discover the ditto!
This takes “Last laugh” to a whole new level.
I'm glad you had this idea to hold these cards and now turn them into something!
At the moment of 1:44 i knew you won the game🤣🤣🥳🤣👍
What an amazing reverse situation, the term "reverse" got a whole new meaning! 😆👌
I've had my moments too with people that are sending fake cards or no cards at all...
Bro got 360'd on LOL.
Somewhere, after watching this video, the scammer is swearing at their computer so much that they make a sailor look like a saint.
Where’s the holos? Or did I miss u specifying he took all the holos out too?
Iv only came across your channel over the last 12-15 months and still watching all these previous videos and getting my days through 👌🔥🔥
This is the best example of, when life gives you lemons, make lemonade ❤
God imagine scamming the shit out of somebody and then realizing if you were just a good person and genuine collector that you could've had so much more. They took a huge L in morals, karma and collectibles. Congrats!!
This is the first time I laughed in joy from a video in a long time. Hilarious, you beat the scammer!
My favourite Pokémon moment for me was when my family went on a holiday back in 2001 and my cousin bought along his game boy with the Pokémon game. As soon as I started playing I fall in love so much adventure and trying to find Pokémon. That’s how it all started for me
Love the background on the Dratini card!
Dont forget to add 7 years of inflation to the total🤣
the worst scammer ever lol. thats like stealing $100 from someone and replacing it with $90 so they wont notice
Ill always get her an etb, a big set box, and some booster packs.
what is your opinion on australian red letter packs
i absolutely love that you getting scammed ended up working out! such a powerful moment dude
This is why pokemon cards are just an amazing investment, at some point all of todays cards will be vintage and go for crazy prices. Safe bet is the fan favourites and just sit on them for years
Wait so if u got scammed the card would be fake right ?
OMG why are you even listening how could you not realise he thought they were fake at first but he didn’t know they were real are you so dumb YES
My favorite pokemon card memories are with my brothers playing our version of the card game. 90's kid all the way!
