I reformed two cat hating dogs by putting the cat in a kennel and put a leash on a let them sniff through the kennel door.Every-time I noticed the dogs body language i and I corrective tugs on the leash if I felt the dogs getting too interested.Didn’t take long until both dogs and the cat accepted each other and one dog would even curl up with the cat and they’d sleep together.The dogs never harmed the cat once

My wife and I used to babysit a friends cat whenever they would go out of town. Well, we had a cat too and so we were dumb enough to just let them be in the same house with each other. All I can say is, you would not believe how much like a cougar two little house cats can sound when facing off against each other! 😂😂😂

Have a friend sleepover? Or come over once a day. It looks like the first couple days are just getting them used to their spaces. Maybe someone at work is thinking about trying the same thing and would like to help.
One way I’ve found that works. At least as far as introducing cats to dogs, is to let the cat have the indoor space during the day and leave the dog outside during that time when you are away. This works if you let your dogs in at night. So it allows the cat to know their scent and observe through the back door safely. Then at night you introduce them to each other when you let the dog in. The cat will hide at first, but the more he sees the dog and realizes they aren’t going to hurt it, the more comfortable they become with each other.
Who could just leave the house while your dog is out, are you crazy??? You wanna leave them outside for HOURS?? I’d come back to the siding ripped off the house and she would never trust me again

I remember on new years eve a few years back I was outside my house watching fireworks when I decided to go inside for more beer when a wild kitten followed me in I didn't see it until it ran in front of me and my 2 pits who were inside their kennel ran out towards it. I thought that kitten. Was gonna get tore up but they only smelled it excitedly then then they went back to the kennel the kitten followed them I grabbed thebbeer and went back outside. I forgot about the kitten until the next day when it was meowing for food.
Great video!❤️All 3 of our cats accept our dog (Havanese), but they each interact/play with the dog differently. We also think our dog has a favorite cat (Luna) who she looks out for.🐈🐶

The place where I work had a shed that a feral cat shelters under every winter. She has a batch of kittens every year or so and my one supervisor always waits until the kittens are old enough to be adopted then nabs them and takes them to the local humane society pet shop. This time she had a litter of 5 pure black kittens. My coworker has a bloodhound puppy that's about six months old. He decided he wanted one of the kittens and picked one before they sent them away. He said that his dog nuzzled the heck out of the kitten but the kitten was pretty cool about it. Beth (the dog) is a bloodhound lab mix. She's barely 6 months old and already like 25 pounds. Its obvious she's going to be huge so its good that she's a total sweetheart.

My dog and my cat decided that they like each other from the moment I introduced them to each other. My cat was 4 years old, my dog was a 6 months old English Pointer puppy. They’ve been best friends for 8 years now!
I’m getting a dog in the fall! Tysm! Here’s another tip: If you are getting your dog or cat from a breeder, when you go meet the puppies or kittens, bring two blankets or towels. Rub the towel or blanket on your cat at home then when you arrive, rub the towel or blanket on the puppy or kitten then bring the blanket with the puppy or kitten’s scent home. That way, they will already be familiar with the scent.

I didn’t even have to do this because my kittens grew up with my dogs so my little chihuahua the youngest one loves seeing the cats as well as my other chihuahua
My dog loves cats and is sad that my new kitten doesn't want to play. She's not at all calm. If she is anywhere close to where she knows the kitten is that is her number one focus no matter what.

I have 2 dogs at home. Recently got 2 cats. We are struggling to get the dogs to get used to the cats and vise versa. Thank you much! I will definitely show this to my mom!
Well I have never done this and just found at least with smaller dog they will work it out. Only once has one of mybdogs ever chase a cat and after a nice wack from the cat the chasing stopped and they just tolerated each other. For example they will both sleep on the bed with me but one is one side of me and the other on the other side.
I think it's funny that she gave herself, the cat, and the dog credit by introducing their names, but the guy that she even claimed was crucial to the process never got any recognition like that and practically remained anonymous 🤣🤣🤣. Just a friendly poke, of course. Great video.
I just threw both my cats into my german shepard crate over night and let them figure each other out everytime they wanna bully each other. Turns out all 3 tolerate each other and no blood bath from both cats. Plus my german is a friendly dog.

When my dog saw my cat fur the first time the cat howled, scratched him, darted away as fast as possible to my brother, proceeded to climb up him and sink her teeth into his lower lip, then hung from my brothers lip in a sort of bloody death-kiss of fear until we finally removed the dog from the situation. Look up Jackson Galaxy. They have a video of 2 cats not getting along. It should help even though it is a dog and a cat. If anyone is having troubles with dog and cat. I know a bit due to relatives having both together. The thing to do is help your cat see your dog not as a threat. So keep it calm with yourself and anyone there. No carrying cat or dog to make them friends. Instead raise your cat higher in your house. Give them a space for both of them. So cat and dog balanced. My relative feeds their cat on the table due to the dogs eating it. 2 big dogs. They get along just fine, cat even sleeps in their bed. Show your cat the dog is fine. Just like with a dog to a cat. It is similar a bit but the opposite Cats react and act if you are nervous worried when introducing. Once you get your cat to relax and connect that your dog is not a threat. Plus give your cat high places for more confidence. In summary: Make your feline friend at home with a dog though

@@Chewy actually, not until there was a fight. The cat scored a significant right claw to the nose, and the dog got some respect. But with some cat and dog psychology, and continued manipulation, the conflicts remain mostly a small hiss and growl conflict, that kinda reminds you of a marriage.

Wow that is a lot of work. I have had plenty of cats and small dogs in my house. I find if the dog goes running after the cat the cat just swats the dog and that usually ends that and they learn to live with each other. With open floor home plans it make it hard to keep the pets separately unless you put then in bedroom and that usually does not work out well because the animal does not want to be in a room by himself when he know you are in the home.. The last time I had a dog and got a cat the cat was found outside so I had no time to plan anything. She also was not in the shape either for me to leave the cat outside and was starving so there was no plan or time for long intros. . When my dog was awake I would the leave the cat in my bedroom so she could rest and when the dog was asleep I let the cat out to explore. After a few days they knew they were both in the home but not that interested in each other expect for getting into each other food. So I let them both run of the home and they did fine. They were not best buds but would tolerate each other if they wanted to sit by me on the couch.

Have 1 1/2 year old squirrel cat . Her dad is about 4 times bigger than an male cat I’ve ever owned. Cat is unique , thinks she’s a person . Introduction works been doing this with my chows . And giant Rottweilers . Have to intro dogs to people , or dogs won’t let people in . Even my 250 lb African spur tortoise . Requires intro of he will knock a person down , that he doesn’t know .a watch turtle . We have mountain lions on the roof of house a 2 story house . Lions jump 24 feet straightup and 40 feet horizontally, thes don’t mess around . They will jump off roof and catch javelina,for dinner or the neighbors geese lion got 16 of them one a nite till all gone

I think it's called a sheltie.
Well I have never done this and just found at least with smaller dog they will work it out. Only once has one of mybdogs ever chase a cat and after a nice wack from the cat the chasing stopped and they just tolerated each other. For example they will both sleep on the bed with me but one is one side of me and the other on the other side.

I just threw both my cats into my german shepard crate over night and let them figure each other out everytime they wanna bully each other. Turns out all 3 tolerate each other and no blood bath from both cats. Plus my german is a friendly dog.

When my dog saw my cat fur the first time the cat howled, scratched him, darted away as fast as possible to my brother, proceeded to climb up him and sink her teeth into his lower lip, then hung from my brothers lip in a sort of bloody death-kiss of fear until we finally removed the dog from the situation. My brother went into shock and got 6 stitches

Look up Jackson Galaxy. They have a video of 2 cats not getting along. It should help even though it is a dog and a cat.
If anyone is having troubles with dog and cat. I know a bit due to relatives having both together.
The thing to do is help your cat see your dog not as a threat. So keep it calm with yourself and anyone there.
No carrying cat or dog to make them friends. Instead raise your cat higher in your house. Give them a space for both of them. So cat and dog balanced.
My relative feeds their cat on the table due to the dogs eating it. 2 big dogs.
They get along just fine, cat even sleeps in their bed. Show your cat the dog is fine. Just like with a dog to a cat.
It is similar a bit but the opposite
Cats react and act if you are nervous worried when introducing. Once you get your cat to relax and connect that your dog is not a threat.
Plus give your cat high places for more confidence.
In summary: Make your feline friend at home with a dog though

I introduced my dog to a cat once. It wasnt smooth sailing all the way. The dog understood, but I could tell she was giving the cat those "I'll get you later: looks."

@@Chewy actually, not until there was a fight. The cat scored a significant right claw to the nose, and the dog got some respect. But with some cat and dog psychology, and continued manipulation, the conflicts remain mostly a small hiss and growl conflict, that kinda reminds you of a marriage.
The biggest of rivals eventually wind up the best of friends. Their fight did sound like a prize fight. What are the names of the two combatants? 🥊

One of my dogs had a terrible interaction with my cat(our faults due to not closing a door properly) and I’m terrified of re introducing them. Trying to train my dogs much more for when we do tho. Thank you for the informative video I’ll use it for when I finally attempt to reintroduce them!

Wow that is a lot of work. I have had plenty of cats and small dogs in my house. I find if the dog goes running after the cat the cat just swats the dog and that usually ends that and they learn to live with each other. With open floor home plans it make it hard to keep the pets separately unless you put then in bedroom and that usually does not work out well because the animal does not want to be in a room by himself when he know you are in the home.. The last time I had a dog and got a cat the cat was found outside so I had no time to plan anything. She also was not in the shape either for me to leave the cat outside and was starving so there was no plan or time for long intros. . When my dog was awake I would the leave the cat in my bedroom so she could rest and when the dog was asleep I let the cat out to explore. After a few days they knew they were both in the home but not that interested in each other expect for getting into each other food. So I let them both run of the home and they did fine. They were not best buds but would tolerate each other if they wanted to sit by me on the couch.

Have 1 1/2 year old squirrel cat . Her dad is about 4 times bigger than an male cat I’ve ever owned. Cat is unique , thinks she’s a person . Introduction works been doing this with my chows . And giant Rottweilers . Have to intro dogs to people , or dogs won’t let people in . Even my 250 lb African spur tortoise . Requires intro of he will knock a person down , that he doesn’t know .a watch turtle . We have mountain lions on the roof of house a 2 story house . Lions jump 24 feet straightup and 40 feet horizontally, thes don’t mess around . They will jump off roof and catch javelina,for dinner or the neighbors geese lion got 16 of them one a nite till all gone
