You guys worry too much about the negative comments. If they don't like free advice and videos then they don't have to watch. I've been watching you for years and honestly there's no better Chinese takeaway channel. Your food tastes amazing and you're a good laugh. So F the haters and keep doing what you're doing ❤
Agreed. Ignore the negatives, let us fans fend off the haters for you - it's kind of our job.
Yeah, but in all fairness, Chin seems to love it in his replies, kind of like he like winding them up
Keep rolling 👌🏻
I don't understand why they'd have haters in the first place!
I have to say, you two have transformed my level of cooking. I regularly make Chinese meals for my family at home and my extended family. All thanks to the two of you. Being able to make chicken and sweetcorn soup as easy has made my husband very happy 😅. Thank you so much, truly. I shall be ordering your book for my mum who is a recipe woman, I'm more of a 'watch and learn' girl.
Also please ignore the negativity, people will moan no matter what, all that matters is that you are good people doing a great job, keep it up 🤗
Same here, I'm cooking healthy vegetable and tofu based dishes all through the week for my family, plus one 'indulgent' dish (i.e. crispy beef, kung po etc) at the weekend. It's so easy.. big box of noodles, big bag of rice. Prepped ingredients in the freezer, onions, carrots and peppers in the fridge. Hardly have to think about it.
@@garty2237 It's brilliant isn't it, so cost and time effective. I just make sure to cook the rice the night before, for all the effort it takes 😂. Very pleased to have found this channel.
Me too, discovered the channel a few months ago and have a Chinese meal at least three times a week now. They make it so simple. Plus I've all sorts of sauces, pastes and spices in my cupboard I'd never used before. Is it wrong I'm now a little prideful about my spice cupboard. 🙈
I have been looking everywhere for a crispy chicken recipe like this - thank-you
Thanks so much for your videos, you have upgraded my cooking abilities. I also love the banter you and your mum share - it makes the videos entertaining. I have been a fan of yours for several years. Keep up the good work and good luck!
Thank you, glad we could help 😊
I literally can’t get enough of these videos! Top work guys I need to make this!
I came across this channel yesterday and have to admit I’m ADDICTED, your both so enjoyable to listen to and watch and I can’t wait to get in the kitchen and try these recipes myself , I would love to see you both show us how to properly cook spare ribs in bbq sauce the proper takeaway way as nothing iv ever tried at home really compares, keep up the great work both easily the best, honest most genuine Chinese takeaway cooking tutorials iv seen 10/10 both will be ordering your book very very soon
We’ve already got a video for it :) and thank you for the kind words :) means a lot to hear :)
Omg how have I missed it! spent must be 3 hours+ watching your vids, this is a must find! Thank you
I’ve made this and it’s guaranteed to be your go to recipe. Very quick and simple….. thanks Chin & Choo
Glad you like it
One of my favourites! Thanks so much! You are both such superstars ❤
Anyone that thinks the chicken should be lightly cooked and tendee have neve r lived... For me, the dried out crispy chicken mixed with the sauce that makes it chewy is amazing
Another fantastic recipe both! Will have to give this a try soon. Will deffo be getting the cookbook too!
Absolutely love both ❤️ iv always wanted to cook Chinese food that is as good as takeaway. And it's fantastic thankyou both so much for your fantastic recipes and videos. Xxx
I tried this last night and my sons loved it. Thanks!
Thank you for such a wonderful recipe and a fantastic channel!
0:18 Love the natural way mumsie looks at her notes - in 'the biz' they are known as an 'idiot board'!
That looks amazing definitely one I'll cook in the future just joined the FB group as well some very talented people over there and your our inspiration awesome 👌
Needed to say thank you for this!! I have never been able to make this but this video is so easy to follow and nice to watch. Thank you
Glad it was helpful!
Absolutely lovely ! Just tried this recipe. Thankyou so much for your videos. Going to need to make another order from you soon as well
Glad you like them!
Tried this method after trying so many times to perfect a good crispy shredded chicken batter this is the best one yet 👌
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
This is my favourite dish and it looks so good thanks for the video
Love the slight music background. Great video. Love all of them really.
Try marmalade in your sweet and sour. It's my alternative to orange juice/squash, and works really really well!
Yep tried before and it has a bitter after taste to me, but if you like it that’s all that matters!
@@ZiangsFoodWorkshop true true, I like the bitterness of orange rind mixed with the sweetness.
Your mum is proper sweet! Love to all our mums
Fantastic as always, I love your full blown sweet and sour, I always batch cook it in takeaway quantities 🤣 but my little one finds it too aromatic. Will try this and add a couple of slices of ginger. Giving me a grown-up and kid friendly sweet and sour in my recipe book.
Haven’t had time to try making this yet. Looks amazing!
You need to!!!!
Wow your channel has grown loads since I last watched one of your videos. Awesome stuff
Welcome back!
Love your channel guys! Could you do Fillet steak in black bean and pepper sauce! My local takeaway does it and its unbelievable! I'd love to see you're take on it.. Happy New year 🎉
Good stuff as always 👍 One of my personal favourites
Firstly your mum is delightful 😊 that food looks so delicious and it’s not even your best recipe! I’ll be definitely making this on a weekend as a treat thanks ♥️
Thanks and mum is the best :)
@@ZiangsFoodWorkshop thanks for the reply! ♥️
Got to try this , big thumb up 👍 And wishing you both a happy new year 😊Trevor
that looks yumm . go nice with bean sprouts and mushroom side .. very good vid guys.
Great recipe, great channel, it's nice that mother and son are cooking together 🙂
We chef together too
Love your mum she reminds me of my grandma ♥️
Your gandma must be a legend too then 😊
@@ZiangsFoodWorkshop she was ♥️ love your content 😊
My favorite 😋 can't wait to try it!!
8:07 Seriously Chin, many more of us are 'one me' than we'd care to admit!
I think your videos are great, ignore the trolls that spend time watching you anyway 😄 they clearly have nothing better to do. Love the mum in the videos 💙
I wish I could taste it, looks so good !!!
One of my favourite dishes.
Same here
I'm not sure about everyone else, but I'd really like to hear some time saving tips. I love the tip about freezing after the first fry and then when ready to eat fry the second time. Are there any more tips you can give around bulk cooking meats and sauces and how to store so I can quickly grab them during the week and just eat?
If there are we normally always say in videos
You make it look so easy and it is keep it up.
😍 Wow gonna give this one a whirl thanks...
Would love to see your take on Chinese gravy, I just can't get it right 😢
This looks awesome think will try this very soon as tried is as takeaway recently and absolutely scraped plate clean lol
Just about to make it now, thank you!!
😊
THANK YOU!🤤❤️❤️❤️❤️
I woke up Xmas day to find my MSG stolen!!. It was there 2 days earlier so I blamed Santa, then my youngest informed me he had come over when I was at work and took it all for himself, so Chin I will be placing my restock order soon.
This is my favourite meal, I have gotten it so many times from my local Chinese takeaway and have been desperate to try and make it, only to have such trouble finding an accurate recipe. I will have to give this recipe a go!
Love watching you two. ❤
❤️❤️❤️
Alright, I was waiting for the version of the sauce that uses Hoi Sin. There's a lot of variation in crispy beef/chicken between takeaways, both in terms of the meat and the sauce. Will be very interesting to try a different one.
This is one of my all time favourite dishes and I will be making this a weekly feature in my house now 👍🏻❤️
Hey lee!!! Nice to see you back!
Thank you, I still watch every video I just forget to comment lol 😂
Thanks from Alberta Canada. Love your videos
Thanks ☺️
Making this tonight. Done it a few times now and it’s excellent. What hob is that you are using? Is it electric or induction?
Link to it in bio
Did you cut the second fry or was it just the coating part for crispy?
No we said we wouldn’t film it, and we’d cut to making the sauce, as in cut scene
Love the channel, got the book and use regularly 👍Why only egg white?
You can use the whole egg if you want, it’s just how this one place did it :)
God bless you mom 😊😊😊
Brilliant Channel,thank you!
No worries
This receipt is sooo good ,I need to feed my kids before myself ,because you eat so much u can't stand up after
😊😊😊😊😂
How long approx did you freeze the chicken? PS loving your cookbook which I picked up a couple of months ago.
Not long. Only about 40-50 mins
What we are making today will feed 2 people! Or 1 me 😂😂😂 epic 👍
😂😂😂😂
just ordered this fir delivery cant wait 🙌.
Its so good :)
Superb as usual. Not a single bad recipe from you two. Absolute classic. Love it . You two rock.🤘 Keep them coming please .Love from Glasgow.🙏
Great job! 👏👏👏
I'm a chef bro and I think you and mums stuff is brilliant
Thank you! Means a lot 😊
Oh that looks yummy off to the kitchen I go. Need to tame the tummy monster now 😁
😂😂😂😂
Love you both…..thanks Xx❤xX
Been awaiting this 😁😁
We do weekly vids now so make sure to click the bell button so not to miss out :)
@@ZiangsFoodWorkshop I'm already a patron 🤜🤛
Oh my god I made this earlier and it was absolutely delicious 😊
❤️❤️❤️
My favourite 😁😋
Only thing I order 😂
Lovely yum 😘
Love your cooking
Thank you 😊 really hope you try some of our recipes
Do you make sui mai's from scratch? Love the vid my favourite from takeaway but now i can make it at home thanks
Yes we do
Another great video 👍👍
Could you show us how to do a chicken chop suey please, I don’t think you have done that yet or maybe a wandering dragon??
And yet you make me hungry again! Watching this I really want to make it but two things I get from the video; This is not your favourite batter mix and not your preferred sauce? what would you change to make it best. Is the chilli beef the one to look at? (But using chicken of course). I have my boxing day ass hat on! Merry Xmas. 🤪
The custard powder batter, and we’d use our homemade sweet and sour sauce, whostershire sauce, brown sauce and hoi sin
@@ZiangsFoodWorkshop Now you got me hooked. 😋
Nice job. I think the song you were attempting to sing may have been "Show me Heaven" by Maria McKee.
Yeah 😂😂😂😂
New fan. I'm excited
Glad to have you here, hope we can help you out 😊
Great video as ever, any rough idea how hot the oil is (in degrees for us mere mortals who have to temp probe oil to be sure)?
180 degrees c
@@ZiangsFoodWorkshop Thank you so much
Will the sweet and sour sauce keep or can it be frozen , theres loads left ?
Yes, will keep months in an airtight container in the fridge
@@ZiangsFoodWorkshop i made the crispy chicken last night , but there was loads of sauce it was a shame to throw it saves you making it up again. , thankyou x
Don't you guys worry about the trolls, you are doing a great job 👍😉👍❤
Oh you can feel the love in these comments. ♥️
☺️☺️☺️☺️
What do you guys do with the oil once used? It's a lot to dispose of. Whilst I bulk cook 5-6 Chicken breasts each week and then freeze, using this much oil and disposing of it seems a lot.
Most takeaways cook with the old oil
Your camera didn’t focus on the finished deliciousness, but just to let you know, I did!
Can I use cornflour instead of potato starch? I'm in Spain and can't seem to find potato starch
Yes :) it’s not as good but works
Restaurant char sui pork !! Haha.
Do you actually re fry the chicken on its own,or when adding to the sauce?
Yes then add to sauce once second fried
How long and what temp for thr first fry ?
4-5 mins at 180c/356f
Yummy, have I missed salt n pepper ribs??? Xx
No haven’t done them yet :)
@@ZiangsFoodWorkshop oh good x
saved looks awesome.
😊😊😊
Nice receipe
Thanks
This looks fantastic. I've just watched the sweet and sour sauce video you referred to in this video.🤤 Orange squash! Who'd have thought.
I just watched that video just now and now I'm watching this one
I made it and it tasted like mulled wine. I probably made a mistake though perhaps
Can you do sweet and sour chicken with this sauce aswell?
Yes you could if you wanted too
Nice vibe enjoyed the video guys
Thank you 😊
Can you use corn starch or corn flour? That’s what I have in the cupboard that’s all 👍
Yes it just not as good as potato
Ok cool if it’s not as good, I’ll go get potato starch. Thanks for the speedy reply. Have a great weekend and love to all 🤘
You need to ignore negative comments !
We secretly love it 😂
Looks good
Thanks 😊
How long was the first fry for?
6 mins :)
@@ZiangsFoodWorkshop great, thank you.
Chilli garlic chicken we get is similar but with no sauce be gd to get a video on that
Is there any reason why you use a cheaper ingredient like Amoy and not Lee Kum Kee or is the taste difference not worth the expense?
They sent us free stuff so we’re using it :)
Can you use the same recipe for crispy chilly beef
Yes but we already have videos for that
@@ZiangsFoodWorkshop fantastic! Thanks 👍🏾
😋👌
I've noticed that with a lot of takeaways that I go to their 'sweet and sour sauce' is nothing but pink sugar syrup. No sour element at all.
I tried a new place last week, spent $60 on food and it was almost completely flavourless.
The stuff I make at home is matching or even bettering some of the Chinese take-away I used to eat growing up. Maybe because I'm not cutting corners on the ingredients.
Can you substitute ketchup for tomato paste. Or best not to?
No there 2 different flavours
