- Have you ever wondered what would happen if you didn't follow Ralof or Hadvar and instead stayed in Helgen? Well, I decided to find out. I started a new game, rode in the carriage as usual, avoided the execution, and ran up the tower stairs with Ralof. After that, I reached Ralof and Hadvar, who were urging me to join them. But since, in this playthrough, I fear them more than the dragon, I decided to wait. After a while, Alduin flew straight to me, and here's what happened.

He sensed another dragon there that’s why he showed up in the first place.

As a child, when I first played this game, I for whatever reason ended up with unbound hands. I thought that meant I was supposed to engage in a fist fight with Alduin. It..ended about the same as here 😂

Tried this year's ago, you have to choose because Alduin will always kill you. Alduin didn't come because Ralofs prayers, but because after being thrown forward in time the first thing he detected was the soul of a dragon nearby. But when he gets to Helgen he realised it isn't a normal dovah but a dovahkiin, the Dragonborn, his nemesis, the ultimate Dragon Slayer.
Everyone who died in Helgen was massacred because Alduin was hunting for you.
That’s a crazy thought now that I think about it and scary af 😂💀
So Alduin really is the ultimate doofus. The dragonborn was on his way to getting killed anyway and he saved him. He saved the only person in the world with the ability to defeat him.

I figured this was the case because during the whole Helgen sequence is seems like Alduin is following you but can't accurately locate you. For example when he breaks through the tower. That's just one example. If you replay this mission you will notice that it seems like Alduin is almost always landing infront or around you.

I remember I ran into Alduin in a random encounter out side of brittle-shin north. He raised the dragon out of the near by burial mound and flew off as it attack me. I was so excited to see that you can actually find him bringing other dragons to life besides Kynesgrove!
I had that happening outside of Whiterun too. Weirdly, the dragon Alduin resurected was named (can't remember its name now though) and never fully formed. He just sat there, as a living skeleton, saying something in dovah'sul. Didnt attack either, he just glared at me. It was super weird.
In my latest playthrough dragons keep glitching and just either not showing up or they'll show and then disappear. @blackspark5218
I like the detail how since you’re the dragon born, you hear the dragon Talking instead of just screeching
You don't need to be Dragonborn to hear the dragons talk. If you had even the most basic of knowledge about the Elder Scrolls lore, or did *any* research at all, you would see that you can hear what dragons are saying even without being Dragonborn.
How else would Paarthurnax have taught the Greybeards?
After captured, Odahviing talks directly to the people present.
And lastly, you can hear them shout in ESO, and none of the players are Dragonborn.

Alduin Talking to Dragonborn be like: Daar Lain Los Dii…(I saw that when I was ignoring the 2 when I went up to alduin when he was fighting an archer)
The very first time I played Skyrim I had a similar bug where Alduin broke thru the wall, but never moved. He just stayed in the hole, breathing fire that didn’t do damage. I was 12 and had no idea what to do so I didn’t play the game again for another like 6 months
Yeah, this was acknowledged on tv tropes. Basically, it takes Alduin a min to figure out your the dragon born, and he makes a beeline for you once he does.
Nah, thats not a bug, the game just knew that you weren't gonna choose, so it decided to help you out by not letting you get the chance to choose 😂

Create a Game Save immediately after getting off the cart but before the commander asks your name. Never go through the opening fiasco ever again.

there's a dragon priest mask quest that involves the Thalmor pretending to be either an Imperial or a Stormcloak officer when you arrive, this is determined via whoever you choose to follow.
I've seen speedrunners get out of the walls of Helgen by jumping along the wall to the outside on that initial opening after Alduin tries to kill you.
I wonder who the Thalmor guy would be as if you went to him in that situation?
He dresses as a Stormcloak
@@canaanstaley3973he dresses as either side you join, if you join the legion, he will disguise himself as a legate and if you join the stormcloaks, he will dress as a stormcloak officer
He was an Imperial for me.
@@WitcherGerd that's why I mentioned after Alduin appears, when he bursts through the hall of the tower and you're told to jump through to the destroyed house, you don't do that but jump to the side along the wall until getting to the edge of Helgen and jumping out. Then you've glitched out of the opening tutorial and are out in the world while you've still got your hands bound.
Go then to the Dragon Priest quest marker location at Forelhost to see what it'd be or even if it's there. If you do the speedrunner glitch to get unbound you'll be on the imperial side.
@@WitcherGerd He means if you don't choose either. You leave Helgen by exploiting the wall, so never going with Ralof or Hadvar, and never affiliate yourself with either side in the war
If you are playing Skyrim, expect unexplained bugs. Save often to avoid misery.

I didn't catch all of it but he says something as he is landing about Sovenguard, so yes.
As a legendary difficulty player, i've seen this animation more times than i would like to admit.

I love how skyrim bugs either make the game more fun, or break it entirely.

Ok but if you could survive his bite you could technically escape Helgen without choosing. Like he could potentially fling you out of the city. And if you survived you you'd be free without choosing
You can actually get out of Helgen with a bug, if alduin shouts at you, and you glitch through the gate. Sadly the game is bugged, your hand is still tied, and it's completely unplayable

That was like one of the first things I tried... I let my curiosity get the better of me. I was amused.
I legitimately did not know you could follow the empire dude! I have been playing this game for years. I have 500 plus hours in it and I have always followed the storm cloak guy
So you've never seen the objective that says "Follow Hadvar OR Ralof" or heard Hadvar say "With me prisoner"
My first playthrough I was a Stormcloak, I chose them because I asked my fiance who the good guys were and he said they were.
After that playthrough, I never joined the Stormcloaks again. Mostly because I don't like playing as a Nord and all the Nords are assholes to you if your anything other than a Nord, especially if you are an argonian or khajjit.
My fiance doesn't play the Stormcloaks either, because I pitched a fit about them being racist assholes. He had no idea they were so bad.

I wasnt paying attention enough and was already following Hadvar so I ended up following him. I’ve picked Ralof everytime to I can kill the damn Captain who tried executing me 😂

I went camping once in october with some of my family and we were riding in a wooden cart pulled by a tractor to go get some pumpkins and i then looked over at my sister and said “ hey you so you’re finally awake” she was fucking dying laughing
my favorite bug that i experienced was alduin breaking the wall and just kinda sitting there staring at me. no fire, no flying away, just breaking the wall to engage in the most intense staring contest in history

Alduin's a living fμ¢king nightmare
Fun fact: you can skip the carriage cutscene by going --> load game --> where you will find your different characters/playthroughs and some of them will say prisoner lvl 1. Select this load and you will start the game where you get off the carriage.
This happened to my partner the first time they played skyrim. They weren’t adept at navigating 3D games yet and got lost
This reminds me: If you take too long to enter the Vault in Fallout 4, the bomb will explode and you will die.
interesting, i tried this and it sent me to whoever i was closest to after a short period, if i was closer to hadvar it'd send me to him, if ralof (mostly the case since hes closer to the arch you walk past)
i generally usually always follow imperials, get my smithing up better following hadvar over ralof although ppt say follow ralof for better gear and money, i personally dont see the difference long gfame wise

My friend once got fus to dahed by alduin and got sent under the gates and was outside helgen. Didn’t have his hands so was just wandering for a while before he reset, but we had a great time at that

I hate that bug and I have had Alduin chew on me a few times.
So for anyone that experiences the bug where he doesnt break the wall just walk down the steps and go back up, usually he just doesnt smash through because you were too quick for the game to set up the checkpoint on the stairs
That bug happened on my first ever playthrough and i was so confused and i wa sin there for like 20 minutes before i called my friend
an animal ran into the carriage and knocked us over my first play
i went with it for so long lol thought it was a weird intro

The game autosaves after you finish character creation, you didn't need to sit through the wagon intro again :)

I found this out during one of my play throughs a long time ago on ps3. I was just kinda running around looking at everything and then he came down and ate me and I was so confused and assumed for like the next few years after that that you needed to go super fast at the start or else he’d just swoop in and eat you

I have a clip of me doing the same thing but Alduin used unrelenting Force and "forcibly" push me into one of the doors with the imperial guy
I thought that's what happened every time you don't choose because I only tried it once.
I had the bug where alduin didnt break thru the wall on one of my very first playthroughs and i dodnt know it was a possibility so i just thought i forgot to do something or just went the wrong way. Yesh that's an hour of my life ill never get back 💀

Y’all know that you could just fast travel to Higan if you press the menu button and then press the unbound quest and then press show on map and then you could fast travel outside of Elgin your hands would be bound, but you could discover some locations to make it easier for later
I had something different happen where Alduin shouted me through the stormcloak door. He basically said "STOP WASTING MY TIME!" 😂
On the first try the game was straight up like "oh you want to see what happens if you try not to leave helgen? Aight bet."
I once caught an Unrelenting Force from Alduin that sent me flying right through the door with Ralof. Found out that day that ragdolling doesn't persist between loading screens.
I recently bought Skyrim for PS5. I played for years on an outdated laptop with laggy performance and low resolution but it was the most fun. Then I bought a Switch and the first game I bought was Skyrim. Still low resolution but at least stable performance. Now on PS5 I‘m blown away by the visuals and performance compared to my PC and Switch experiences. Skyrim is the GOAT RPG!

Alduin was looking for the invicible dragon before he realise that was a humanoid dragon
