I Played the HARDEST Skyblock

- In this video I play through the hardest skyblock map that is still posible in in hardcore mode. So no jumping off the island, no backups (to increase your chances with the wandering trader and to get iron shovels from zombies). With just 81 blocks to play around with you have to stretch minecraft to its limits to progress. This was truly an insane Skyblock challenge which I started over 200 days ago and today I have this video that documented my journey, enjoy watching :)!

Now the idea that is the most like mine and comparable in difficulty is the nothing skyblock by Enderskull, but we developed our skyblocks without the knowledge of others existence (If you don’t believe check the screenshot's timestamps throughout the video (day164 8:20) and by the time his series started (uploaded first ep on youtube) I have already played through 500 days in my world.
But nevertheless, I think my video is still unique as it introduces new strat at the start of the game that previously hasn’t been seen before (spiders and wool for building blocks). My playthrough also didn’t use any backups of the world to help me with the RNG and the introduction of hardcore made food also an important thing to take care of :)! And with just 81 blocks this map truly pushes the challenge to the next level :)!

To be fair, getting emerals from foxes isn't unique to a single youtuber, the concept has been around for a while 🤷♂️

the point was that no one usually does it because foxes with emeralds are rare, and villagers naturally spawn also. so what would be the point to trade with a fox regularly

You literally went from just dirt blocks to beating the game. That's actually incredible. While most of the days came from AFKing, you still played for like 300 days. You have way more dedication than I could ever have. Please make more videos on this world!

The bigger the platform the faster the spawn rates, also while I was getting rid of some new ones could allready spawn on the other side of the island :). Also it depends on luck a bit and the fact that those days were dedicated to just collecting emeralds
Also, he mentions this in the video, but he didn't get a lot of wandering traders because his base was mostly filled with snow and wandering traders can't spawn on snow blocks. He would later fix this issue which made more wandering villagers spawn.@@imbshissl

I enjoyed this SO much!! I've always loved the nothing to something grind of a skyblock or a deserted island. This was the ultimate level of that struggle!!
An actual authentic run! I've seen a lot of "impossible skyblock" videos but they go back to past versions or have some sort of helpful chest. I think the end portal with lava was necessary or else you'd have hit a roadblock, but besides that it's all authentic progression. Nice!
He has grass which enables sheep and cows, opening up doors. He also has an end portal, which doesn’t exist in other people’s versions, so they had to literally crash the chunk so it would regenerate
check out pino's one block if you're looking for a "impossible skyblock" thats pure authenticity

So why is the lava source necessary?
Lava sources do not occur in any other location, to my knowledge - you cannot purchase it, naturally find it in the void, ect. Without it, you physically could not progress any further into stone tools, which would not make an interesting video@@joshua.-927
20:15 it always shocks me just how many people that play this game don't know that poison cant kill you. It'll reduce you to half a heart, but it will never kill you.
Maybe because of fatal_poison in bedrock edition (obtained by commands and feeding a cookie to a parrot :)

This is one of the best Minecraft videos I've ever seen, and I've seen a lot. I haven't played since 2018 so I missed a ton of updates, but that did not take away from my viewing experience. You explained everything spectacularly, really good job!

The moment at 20:10 was probably quite scary because panic might have been setting in, but poison actually can't kill you on its own, it takes you down to 1 hp even on Hardcore. The only difference between poison and the wither effect is that the wither will still damage you at 1 hp, so it can kill you all on its own. So really you'd have been okay even if the effect lasted longer, but I can imagine in the moment you probably didn't even think about it and it would've been pretty tense. Besides, sitting around at half a heart and being unable to properly heal is still very dangerous, as all it takes is a single tick of damage from another source.
Good vid with great editing and commentary, blows my mind how MC creators find new ways to update classic ideas like Skyblock with brand new modern twists.

I was worried for a second that it was different in hardcore, despite not being fatal in hard mode. However one good splash potion of harm would have ruined his day.
This was your well-deserved “viral” video! Congrats! The dedication and attention to detail is insane! I’ve seen some insane things play out in my 11 years playing/watching Minecraft but this may top them all! There were so many instances where a normal player would’ve starved to death or fallen/gotten bumped off the island and the threat was always there for one simple mistake to result in the challenge (and subsequent video) being completely ruined but you kept your poise throughout!

Also, even seeing the Rays Protosky and RaysGrid series before makes no excuse to enjoy this skyblock video. The usage of the new mechanics added in new updates was impressive, doing it alone was also even more impressive.

I thought Ilmango was up for a tough challenge with his skyblock series, where he started just with a dirt island with an azalia tree, but you leveled it up by starting just with a 81 blocks of dirt! Do you think this challenge would be doable if your starting island was at the level +60, or you wouldn't be able to survive because of phantoms and much slower rates of the hostile mob farm?
Btw, would there be an extended "director's cut" version of this amazing journey for 1-1.5h?
The island at Y +60 would be doable, but it would add so many aditional days that I would not like to try that :). Directors cut haha, sadly probably not, but I am working on a sequel ;)
