Your conclusion of this laptop really gives consumers something to think about. There's a lot of models in computer manufacturer's these days that if all you focus is on price not value or future thinking you might not get the best value for your money. owned this laptop for a good 3 years and it only lasted about 1.5yrs on a good note. after that it just ran super slow and eventually my screen just died lol 😭
If you are planning on getting a budget gaming laptop, don’t ever expect good CPU temps. Like I mean almost no laptop under 1000 dollars will have good temps. The small space just doesn’t allow for a large enough fan to keep it below 90 while heavy gaming. Unfortunate, but almost unavoidable. I wish these companies would try to make an effort while designing to keep the cpu more open somehow.
Hey Jarrod, I was thinking of getting a lenovo legion5 ryzen 7 4800h, dunno if to get the 1660ti or the 2060, only seems to be £50 difference in price here in the UK with same disk and memory 16gb/1tb sd, gonna be doing some gaming and light work stuff. Or would wait for ryzen 5000/ radeon graphics? Dunno what else would be worth getting at the £1200 mark. Liking the reviews though. 👌

I have the 2018 version of this laptop with the 8750H and gtx1050. Don't know how much better this one is but mine had SO MANY problems. First, the laptop model is known to have serious thermal issues which, in my case, killed the battery (3/4 cells swollen). Secondly, the plastic bezel at the bottom just busted out after about 3 months so now I can't close the laptop anymore (it's only role now is home server). Finally, the microphone always echo the sound from the speakers (located at the top of the keyboard) whenever I have a video call. Maybe it is just my unit that is so busted but I've learned my lesson and I might never buy another pavilion.

I will give credit to HP for the vent design. My Dell G3 3590 I got this year has appalling vent system which is mainly blocked by the underside of the screen. So under loads it heats the plastic.
I don't think Dell's G series laptops are good. Here where I live, Dell laptops are very very overpriced and aren't worth the money. My sister's G7 runs super hot and the fans are incredibly loud.
Personally I strongly prefer 1 stick of 16Gb DDR4 over 2 8Gb sticks as long as the RAM is of good quality with speeds of 2400MHz or above. I'll rather buy just one more stick of 16Gb DDR4 and get 2 channel RAM and enjoy 32Gb instead of wastefully throwing away the 2 OEM 8Gb RAM sticks and spend even more money on 2 16Gb RAM sticks.
I love it when you open back panel of almost severy laptop you show us so that we can at least see through its internal design, my focuses especially on cooling systems, Thank you

probably fine if you're going for a mid-ranged laptop. something like an AMD 7 with a 1050Ti. plus, RAM prices are at an all-time low now, you can upgrade 8GB of RAM to 16GB for 30 dollars!
Depends on the cost and what is being done with it. 4 core Celeron or Pentium pass. Now I5 and I7 quad core I would look at.

hey jarrod. the reason you see an underperformance, is because the frames have to push through the intel 620 because its connected to the screen. test it with hdmi, then count those results cause those are how the nvidia gtx gpu performs. and also enable physx to your gtx gpu, and turn the laptop screen off [but you already know about the procedure :)]. Just put those results though.
but most users wont use a monitor with a laptop
@@theretron3856 That's true. i still don't use a monitor, because a laptop isn't meant to be used with one. @@matt404notfound the brick is normal to get hot

Or would wait for ryzen 5000/ radeon graphics? Dunno what else would be worth getting at the £1200 mark. Liking the reviews though. 👌
Please everyone do NOT buy these Pavillion gaming laptops!! They are terrible. I've had one for over a year and it was horrific. Sent it for repairs 6 times in a year (after that i got a refund) and it still wasnt fixed. They are heavy soft AF plastic chunks with a terrible screen and have bad trackpad experience. I dropped my laptop in my school bag from a low chair once and it had big plastic smooshed dent in the corner as if it was burned. If you are a student please take an extra consideration. The only things why people buy these laptops are bc of the specs for price. But dont get fooled bc HP always works with Max-Q designs. I dont say all HP laptops are bad just the Pavillions Gaming series. Please guys dont spend your money on these. Please think this decision through if you're into this situation.
