@@antreaskonstantinou8585 yeah, the only problem with xeons is the motherboards are sometimes very expensive, not sure what it's like in America but in England you can get Ryzen 7 1700s for like 80
Many reasons. For one, this laptop is both cheaper and uses an AmD, which are much cooler and efficient overall. Plus, cheaper laptops like this tend to ease off on the pushing of the specs constantly unlike higher end laptops. Which actually is why your issue is the way it is most likely. Many manufacturers to my knowledge intentionally make their hardware run at near maximum in most cases. My MSI with a GTX 1060M and i7-8750h ran 95 degrees for each thing constantly until I set a hard temperature limit for them both. They usually try to put near bare bones cooling in with these high end specs, and then force them to run at high performance, not a good combo.
Two questions i wish they had answered. What are the power limits for the cpu? My hp 4500u is locked down to 25w and only allows the cpu to hit 3.9ghz even when plugged in. Also how does the screen look? I notice when I walk past a row of laptops at Walmart or bestbuy the cheaper they are the more terrible screen quality is. So is this one acceptable ?
I have one, can't speak about the power limits and all that since I'm not very good with computers, what I can say is the screen is pretty good, I have white lights in my room and I don't even need to go above 70,% brightness

It achieved lets say average of 55-60 fps with 1%lows being high forties and 0.1% low forties. Radeon settings shows 44 fps average but sadly that includes all the cutsenes that were locked to 30 fps.. Also maximum temp of gpu was 65 C in extreme performance bios mode. Cooler was not loud like jet engine but you can definately hear it while gaming and laptop cooled down after couple of minutes and then cooler turned off and it was silent again. I know that its 4 year old game but i really didnt expect this performance out of intergrated gpu. I cant wait to install Witcher 3 and GTA V..
And I also set gpu memory to 2gb. There is also application that can increase tdp of processor and gpu but i didnt use it yet but im looking forward to try it. I saw that application used on laptop with ryzen 5 5500u if im not mistaken on ETA Prime channel.

For me a gaming laptop is one that has a discrete GPU in it , I don't consider APUs as gaming laptops , it is a good laptop for the price but I don't consider this as a gaming laptop

Anyone ever wonder about gaming laptops from 5 years ago that were $1200? Where are they now and how much do they cost. Those were meant to run more intense games than minecraft and fortnite.
Prolly phased out
I have the Ideapad 3 with Pentium Gold and that cheap machine runs 20gb of ram after upgrading. You can also upgrade the storage up to 2tb. The laptop can be use as gaming emulator. Not bad for a $140 Black Friday's laptop.

Guys btw you can use an app to increase the TDP of the 5500u in there , which results in more stable performance ( a little more heat but I think it can handle it ) . Check eta prime's ryzen laptop videos to know how ( btw I'm not promoting ) , it would really help with gaming when you push some more power to that apu . Happy gaming :)
@@sshunz yup , I can help you with that 👀
It's not an "app", it's a setting in the bios lol
@@evanmalone2806 1. It's pretty weird getting a random reply after 2 months and 2. I don't know why Lenovo didn't bring to Brazil these black versions of the Ideapad and Ideapad Gaming 3i, here we have the blue version (of the Gaming 3i) and Silver of Ideapad S145 but with a lot less features than compared to the ones sold in US and EU, I actually like the black version more. I have a Lenovo L340 that I got little over a week ago second hand for roughly $600, still with 8 months warranty remaining. 17.3" screen, i5-9300h@2.4GHZ- 4.1GHZ, a GTX 1650, 8GB of ram and 256GB SSD. My point is that you can get GTX 1650 equipped laptops for as little as $550 second hand and in decent condition.
I considered a new option along these lines but to me the ideapad 3's viability as a 'gaming' laptop is a bit questionable. I'd only consider getting one if my budget was very tightly limited to that precise price bracket, because the boost in performance with an actual GPU is to me worth the small increase in price for a decent second hand Gaming laptop versus this super basic offering.

I bought the Ideapad 1 from Best Buy that has the Ryzen 7 5700U, 16 GB of DDR4 RAM, and a 512 GB SSD. The graphics card is a basic integrated card but seems to be reasonably powerful for the price point. It was on sale for $479.99 but I got it for $425 as an open box special. It's always the lenovo's. They're so good.
Anyone know why this laptop is so cool while my much higher spec laptop is almost always above 80 degrees and sounds like a jet engine
Whats your specs?
Less powerful hardware equals less heat and in turn less cooling needed
Do u think I would be able to play the sims 4 with some expansion packs and mods??
That’s what I’m wondering too!!!

Check bio settings if u change power mode in lenovo its possible to switch to performance mode in bios
