The HU remembers a time when their people were feared. Greatness through unity, long ago but no longer. The HU want their people to remember this as well. Currently a people does not have to be feared to be great, as is demonstrated by the Tribal people of this series. You show greatness through understanding and compassion for others.

I'm enjoying everyone's reactions to their experiences. It's pretty amazing how, even though we live in different countries and our cultures may be different, that we can appreciate that things like what you show them exist. I recall that you showed them Michael Jackson recently. How about the idea of showing them some music from Motown? Early Motown music is kind of slower paced and the vocals are clear to hear. Another performance that came to mind was Freddie Mercury and Montserrat Caballe singing opera together. Would be a great way to introduce them to Freddie. Thanks for all you do.

Love that they are finding new music to listen to. As to wearing black, I would put that to Johnny Cash, whose nickname was the Man in Black. He also wrote a song by that title explaining why he always wore black. Some of his songs, like Folsom Prison Blues, pre-date Rock as a genre, but were still Rock songs. I think many other musicians carried on his tradition (many unknowingly), & that's why so many today use black in their videos. Many of his songs use just a guitar, & might be more preferred by the older gentlemen.
Black is the color we associate with bad or scary. We are often scared of the dark or what might be hiding in it. Think of the Black Night or the cowboys in black hats. People like Johnny Cash embraced being the bad guy. Rock music as we got to the age of metal continued the tradition. It's expressing the dark parts of ourselves.
@@kittygumdrop7442 I agree, and while I know this is what you meant, I think it's worth clarifying that metal isn't a _glorification_ of the darker parts of ourselves, but an *acceptance* of it. I think people viewing it as the former is part of why, even in countries where metal is popular, many assume metalheads to be aggressive or brooding by nature. Metal isn't about forcing yourself to be 'darker', it's an expression of the darkness that's already there; most metalheads I've known love a good mosh pit but have never been in an actual fight in their life. They don't mosh because they are more aggressive by nature, but as an expression of the aggression we all feel sometimes. The same goes for the stylistic elements like wearing black, it's not that most metalheads are 'more dark' by nature, or even that they're aiming to be more dark, they are simply expressing the darker elements that exist within us all.
@@TheCrash480 I absolutely agree. That's why I said it's an expression of those dark parts (though many do glorify it too). They wear it on their sleeve, so to speak, rather than trying to hide that it exists. Doesn't mean they're all bad or emotionally messed up. We all have anger, sadness, and fear at different times in our lives. Some times people just need to scream a bit. Maybe if people did a little more head banging, they'd scream at managers less often.
I have followed The Hu since I found them on TH-cam and they are very musical, since youth and individually have won awards in their country for traditional music and a couple teach in both throat singing and instruments. Good musicians, good band. It's good to listen to music from other cultures, whether traditional or more modern, or mixed.
The elderly gentleman made smile when he recognized and pointed out their traditional instruments in the video. As someone who loves historical culture, love it when others recognize items from the older world.

I still think that they should try out Sabaton. Power Metal and the discussion of history, mostly military history. You can then show Sabaton’s videos where they talk about the history of the music they make!
Winged Hussars by Sabaton is also an amazing retelling of a historical event. The charge of the Polish Winged Hussars coming to save Vienna has been reused many times as a motif in movies, music and art. You could show them Sabatons song then show the calvary charge in Lord of the Rings which was inspired by this historical event.

Ohh I'm so happy that Abdul liked the music! I got the feeling he didn't much care for Metallica, but this probably felt more familiar to him so he was able to get into it more, plus it's a beautiful and cool song. I don't expect him to get into hardcore metal or anything, but it's wonderful to me that he was able to find something he enjoyed in this type of music. :) I always think every genre of music has a band for everyone, it's just a matter of finding that band.
There’re other variations of throat singing you can teach and let them watch once more. For example, Tuvan throat singing (the recommendation) and Altai throat singing. They are similarly share the same technique of voice producing, yet the difference are their instruments they do perform with. They probably will enjoy it, if they have a chance to listen.
I love the variety of experience and knowledge everyone brings to this. Knowing which bird call was in the song, recognizing the instruments… ❤️ The group Bloodywood also mixes elements of traditional Indian music with heavy metal in a really interesting way. I'd suggest the song "Jee Veerey" - it has a message I think you all might appreciate.

I love watching these videos. It's quite humbling to see the reactions of people who are not constantly exposed to media in the way we have become used to. I have an idea for a video, if you would like. It would be great to see a reaction to the Olympic opening ceremonies of various countries, such as Beijing 2008, London 2012 etc. I know they are quite long but I feel like they are a great insight into a country's culture and history, as well as being quite spectacular! This was such a great video! I saw The Hu in concert recently. They put on a fantastic show. Just like in this video the whole packed crowd moved their head chanting hu..hu..hu..hu.... All members of the Hu have wonderful musical talents. One loves the bassoon another's favorite is smooth jazz. And they all have pride in their country. So great to see their work transcend language and culture. 🧡
Always great to see people finding joy in listening to different types of music. Music is a truly universal language. I'd be curious to see you guys check out an Australian band called King Gizzard And The Lizard Wizard. They are very influenced by Turkish music and during the last few years play modified instruments that are tuned using microtonal scales in the same way as the Turkish instrument called the Baglama. They even tune their drums and synths to play using these scales. The combination of that with their Western music background is very interesting.
For calmer music I could suggest Dimash Qudaibergen. He can do traditional Kazakh songs ( with instruments:Qobyz/Kobyz and dombra . Or his more rock /pop or classical /opera type songs. He’s singing into the 7th octave now. Depends on what you all like . I’m certain you’ll find a song of his they’ll like . He plays 7 instruments and sings in 12 languages.

Raw honesty, simplicity, pure, innocence, humbleness, appreciation, openness, etc. these people have many qualities that a lot of humans now a days lack.
If you're looking for a slower song with an interesting sound, I think they'd really like Dead Can Dance's "Indus". It's almost trance-like and the vocals are stunning.
I love watching these lovely people. I’m struck every time by how receptive, accepting, and appreciative they are to so many novel experiences so far removed from their own customs and daily lives. They use the knowledge they have to interpret what they’re seeing often in remarkably shrewd and poignant ways. They are so respectful to the presenter as well. Such formal terms of address could seem stiff or formal, but it seems completely genuine from them. I love how the presenter guides or explains parts that are baffling to them. I am happy for these tribal people who have had these broadening experiences made available to them.
Heilung is particularly a great suggestion because the singer Kai Uwe Faust was inspired by Tibetan throat singing, uses the technique and they love throat singing + Heilung also uses instruments like the ravanahatha in various songs which I think Abdul would like :)
I’m absolutely loving the metal that you’re showing them! Will you ever try rap? If so “Lose Yourself” is one of my personal favorites and one I think they could get a lot out of.
Every time I watch these videos, it feels like just as much a learning experience to the viewer as the people seeing these things for the first time. They reflect much beauty and wisdom in all their ventures into a wide array of culture from around the world. It's a privilege to hear what they have to say.
I love watching their reactions to the music you provide for them. They're so open minded and very polite when they don't care for the song they've listened to. I recommend What a Wonderful World, by Theory (of a Deadman). It's a cover of an older song but done so well.
I suggest having them listen to The Dark Side of the Moon by Pink Floyd. All of the panelists seem to have an appreciation of musicianship, and goodness knows that album is a seminal example of that. Mohammad in mentioned towards the end how he would enjoy music that was slower, and Muharam mentioned both with The HU, and Metallica before that, that he found those bands to be soothing.
Something you might really want to check out is Gorkem Sen's incredibly unique instrument; the yaybahar. There's a few videos of him playing it and it's really an amazing thing to watch. Great channel by the way. I normally don't care for "react" channels but you've made something that feels very authentic and personable.
Excellent video! If you show them more music in the future, I would love to see them react to other exotic songs! I recommend to show them a band called Heilung, which also sings about the past and present of humanity. Their songs are inspired by the ancient germans, from around 300 AD, so their songs are also tribal in a way. I imagine your people might like Heilung's song called "Norupo" or if you want to be more provocative, try "Krigsgaldr". Krigsgaldr is a very serious but beautiful song about the destruction and suffering caused by war and fighting, and promotes peace with everyone, no matter where they come from.
Really enjoying watching these, and enjoying all of these great people. Also getting reminded of Batzorig's music through this channel has been great. As far as music suggestions, I love anything Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong sing together - both some amazing voices I think they could enjoy. I should say this. This channel is one of my far favourite reaction channel. As Mongolian I also apprieciate the way all these great elders and both younger people reacted to our song. I don't usually type comments but this one actually got me. Since one of elders said we're quite looked the same as chinese but though we looks similar, in reality we're far more different than them physically and mentally we're stronger than them. Therefore my ancestors conquer the world in honor. I could say it proudly and now as the host said Mongolians now conquering the world through the music and art. I see a lot of people suggesting Wardruna... I have to agree it would be a good idea (if you want them to continue reacting to heavier music) to use songs that have very deep folk influences, bands like Wardruna, Runar, Heilung, Solstafir, Garmarna etc. The nice thing about The HU - Wolf Totem is that they do throat singing - which is kind of a precursor to growling.

That's the great thing about Metal, it's so diverse and spans about every sound you can think of. It is all inclusive, it doesn't matter who you are, where you come from, or what your world views are, Metal is universal. Once it gets its hooks in you, you become a fan for life. Metal will always be the greatest genre in existence.

I'm enjoying everyone's reactions to their experiences. It's pretty amazing how, even though we live in different countries and our cultures may be different, that we can appreciate that things like what you show them exist. I recall that you showed them Michael Jackson recently. How about the idea of showing them some music from Motown? Early Motown music is kind of slower paced and the vocals are clear to hear. Another performance that came to mind was Freddie Mercury and Montserrat Caballe singing opera together. Would be a great way to introduce them to Freddie. Thanks for all you do.

This was such a great vid! They were sooo into this song, video and the HU's biker style. I was smiling and chuckling all the way through this. The guy in grey when he said he would listen to metal more than what he hears now made me say, "YES! That's my boy right there! hahaha". Love that they are finding new music to listen to. As to wearing black, I would put that to Johnny Cash, whose nickname was the Man in Black. He also wrote a song by that title explaining why he always wore black. Some of his songs, like Folsom Prison Blues, pre-date Rock as a genre, but were still Rock songs. I think many other musicians carried on his tradition (many unknowingly), & that's why so many today use black in their videos. Many of his songs use just a guitar, & might be more preferred by the older gentlemen.
Black is the color we associate with bad or scary. We are often scared of the dark or what might be hiding in it. Think of the Black Night or the cowboys in black hats. People like Johnny Cash embraced being the bad guy. Rock music as we got to the age of metal continued the tradition. It's expressing the dark parts of ourselves.
@@kittygumdrop7442 I agree, and while I know this is what you meant, I think it's worth clarifying that metal isn't a _glorification_ of the darker parts of ourselves, but an *acceptance* of it. I think people viewing it as the former is part of why, even in countries where metal is popular, many assume metalheads to be aggressive or brooding by nature.
Metal isn't about forcing yourself to be 'darker', it's an expression of the darkness that's already there; most metalheads I've known love a good mosh pit but have never been in an actual fight in their life. They don't mosh because they are more aggressive by nature, but as an expression of the aggression we all feel sometimes.
The same goes for the stylistic elements like wearing black, it's not that most metalheads are 'more dark' by nature, or even that they're aiming to be more dark, they are simply expressing the darker elements that exist within us all.
@@TheCrash480 I absolutely agree. That's why I said it's an expression of those dark parts (though many do glorify it too). They wear it on their sleeve, so to speak, rather than trying to hide that it exists. Doesn't mean they're all bad or emotionally messed up. We all have anger, sadness, and fear at different times in our lives. Some times people just need to scream a bit. Maybe if people did a little more head banging, they'd scream at managers less often.
I have followed The Hu since I found them on TH-cam and they are very musical, since youth and individually have won awards in their country for traditional music and a couple teach in both throat singing and instruments. Good musicians, good band. It's good to listen to music from other cultures, whether traditional or more modern, or mixed.
The elderly gentleman made smile when he recognized and pointed out their traditional instruments in the video.
As someone who loves historical culture, love it when others recognize items from the older world.

If your going to do Sabaton, I recommend their latest. "Christmas Truce", it is quite powerful.
Winged Hussars by Sabaton is also an amazing retelling of a historical event. The charge of the Polish Winged Hussars coming to save Vienna has been reused many times as a motif in movies, music and art. You could show them Sabatons song then show the calvary charge in Lord of the Rings which was inspired by this historical event.

Ohh I'm so happy that Abdul liked the music! I got the feeling he didn't much care for Metallica, but this probably felt more familiar to him so he was able to get into it more, plus it's a beautiful and cool song. I don't expect him to get into hardcore metal or anything, but it's wonderful to me that he was able to find something he enjoyed in this type of music. :) I always think every genre of music has a band for everyone, it's just a matter of finding that band.
There’re other variations of throat singing you can teach and let them watch once more. For example, Tuvan throat singing (the recommendation) and Altai throat singing. They are similarly share the same technique of voice producing, yet the difference are their instruments they do perform with. They probably will enjoy it, if they have a chance to listen.

I love watching these videos. It's quite humbling to see the reactions of people who are not constantly exposed to media in the way we have become used to.
I have an idea for a video, if you would like. It would be great to see a reaction to the Olympic opening ceremonies of various countries, such as Beijing 2008, London 2012 etc. I know they are quite long but I feel like they are a great insight into a country's culture and history, as well as being quite spectacular!

This was such a great video! I saw The Hu in concert recently. They put on a fantastic show. Just like in this video the whole packed crowd moved their head chanting hu..hu..hu..hu.... All members of the Hu have wonderful musical talents. One loves the bassoon another's favorite is smooth jazz. And they all have pride in their country. So great to see their work transcend language and culture. 🧡

Always great to see people finding joy in listening to different types of music. Music is a truly universal language. I'd be curious to see you guys check out an Australian band called King Gizzard And The Lizard Wizard. They are very influenced by Turkish music and during the last few years play modified instruments that are tuned using microtonal scales in the same way as the Turkish instrument called the Baglama. They even tune their drums and synths to play using these scales. The combination of that with their Western music background is very interesting.
I love King Gizz! Their song 'Sleep Drifter' is up near the top of my favourites list.
For calmer music I could suggest Dimash Qudaibergen.
He can do traditional Kazakh songs ( with instruments:Qobyz/Kobyz and dombra . Or his more rock /pop or classical /opera type songs. He’s singing into the 7th octave now.

I love watching these lovely people. I’m struck every time by how receptive, accepting, and appreciative they are to so many novel experiences so far removed from their own customs and daily lives. They use the knowledge they have to interpret what they’re seeing often in remarkably shrewd and poignant ways. They are so respectful to the presenter as well. Such formal terms of address could seem stiff or formal, but it seems completely genuine from them. I love how the presenter guides or explains parts that are baffling to them. I am happy for these tribal people who have had these broadening experiences made available to them.
I suggest 1) Heilung, 2) Nina Hagen, 3) Einsturzende Neubauten, or 4) Jefferson Airplane. That should give them a varied tastes of modern music.
Heilung is particularly a great suggestion because the singer Kai Uwe Faust was inspired by Tibetan throat singing, uses the technique and they love throat singing + Heilung also uses instruments like the ravanahatha in various songs which I think Abdul would like :)

Every time I watch these videos, it feels like just as much a learning experience to the viewer as the people seeing these things for the first time. They reflect much beauty and wisdom in all their ventures into a wide array of culture from around the world. It's a privilege to hear what they have to say.

I love watching their reactions to the music you provide for them. They're so open minded and very polite when they don't care for the song they've listened to.
I recommend What a Wonderful World, by Theory (of a Deadman). It's a cover of an older song but done so well.
I suggest having them listen to The Dark Side of the Moon by Pink Floyd. All of the panelists seem to have an appreciation of musicianship, and goodness knows that album is a seminal example of that. Mohammad in mentioned towards the end how he would enjoy music that was slower, and Muharam mentioned both with The HU, and Metallica before that, that he found those bands to be soothing.
I love that the older gentleman with the light green shirt was so in awe that he said he wanted to jump into the video with them. Hes a cool guy!

Something you might really want to check out is Gorkem Sen's incredibly unique instrument; the yaybahar. There's a few videos of him playing it and it's really an amazing thing to watch.

Excellent video! If you show them more music in the future, I would love to see them react to other exotic songs! I recommend to show them a band called Heilung, which also sings about the past and present of humanity. Their songs are inspired by the ancient germans, from around 300 AD, so their songs are also tribal in a way. I imagine your people might like Heilung's song called "Norupo" or if you want to be more provocative, try "Krigsgaldr". Krigsgaldr is a very serious but beautiful song about the destruction and suffering caused by war and fighting, and promotes peace with everyone, no matter where they come from.
Really enjoying watching these, and enjoying all of these great people. Also getting reminded of Batzorig's music through this channel has been great.
As far as music suggestions, I love anything Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong sing together - both some amazing voices I think they could enjoy. And a wide variety of slower songs to pick from for Mohammad especially.

I should say this. This channel is one of my far favourite reaction channel. As Mongolian I also apprieciate the way all these great elders and both younger people reacted to our song. I don't usually type comments but this one actually got me. Since one of elders said we're quite looked the same as chinese but though we looks similar, in reality we're far more different than them physically and mentally we're stronger than them. Therefore my ancestors conquer the world in honor. I could say it proudly and now as the host said Mongolians now conquering the world through the music and art. I enjoyed the every single moment of this reaction content while watching it. Thanks guys wish u the best and to all these elders. I truly respect and admire their wisdom and honest reaction to our video. I wish I could send one of them some horses or motorbikes. We Mongols have at least 5 million horses by the way. I see a lot of people suggesting Wardruna... I have to agree it would be a good idea (if you want them to continue reacting to heavier music) to use songs that have very deep folk influences, bands like Wardruna, Runar, Heilung, Solstafir, Garmarna etc.
The nice thing about The HU - Wolf Totem is that they do throat singing - which is kind of a precursor to growling.

That's the great thing about Metal, it's so diverse and spans about every sound you can think of. It is all inclusive, it doesn't matter who you are, where you come from, or what your world views are, Metal is universal. Once it gets its hooks in you, you become a fan for life. Metal will always be the greatest genre in existence.
Thank you for explaining the darkness while also letting them know it doesn’t mean they are bad people. I love all the dark things in the world, but that’s just my way to cope with the horrors of our world. 🤷🏼♀️
