If only the woke writers that took over where GRRM left off had the guts to go all in. They could have made John trans and had The Night King killed by a trans person. It was like the story was taken over by children, with no particular writing skills. They copied something GRRM did, where all was lost to an overwhelming force only to have another overwhelming force sweep in at the last possible moment and save the day, they did that two more times. They seemed to have used the chaotic dissonance of their predecessor to justify ending in dissonance rather than resolving the dissonance in the end.
Random thought, but did ben know that John was his sister's son? Would Ned tell at least benjen, and since the family always sent a member of the family to the wall it would make sense to prepare John for this task. Especially, to keep him out of the eyes of anyone who would want to kill him.
It's said Benjen was far closer their sister than any of the siblings. It's speculated thru didn't really have secrets between them, or at least knew one another well enough to be able to discern the truth without speaking it.
He probably did know and that very well could have had something to do with him taking the black in the first place. He knew John would be considered a bastard(even though he technically wasn't actually most likely) and likely take the black like other starks had before. Especially if his uncle told his inspiring stories like he did. There Benjin could keep his secret and he could watch over and try and keep him safe under him at castle black but, obviously things don't go to plan lol.
All possibilities. I am hoping that the books or the new Jon snow show sheds more light on the starks history and the role they all Had to play in the prophecy . Benjen knew more than anyone . We didn’t actually see him die . More can be explored here .
Perhaps... Maybe Benjen had ventured farther than most beyond the wall and inevitably found the original Three-Eyed Raven in the cave with the children of the forest. All of which leads to a brief interaction, but the adventure also leads Benjen close to the white walkers, where he falls in battle. The Children of the Forest, revive him from full turn as much as can be, which gives him back his consciousness before it is lost to the darkness. This also imbues BenJen with the opportunity to not only develop fire weapons with the Children of the Forest (as seen when Benjen strikes his mace/incenser and the Children of the Forest strike their ball - both the same), but also be told to protect Brandon Stark at all costs, being privy to the knowledge that the War of the Dead would include Brandon as a primary opponent/prize to the Night King. Maybe..?
Although benjin was mobbed by the dead who’s too say he’s gone. He could’ve easily been brought back to the far far far north as a captive. We never saw the night king’s shrine except that one episode where he turn the baby into a white walker. I have a strong feeling benjin is being held captive there in the ice fortresses bye the other surviving white walkers. Everyone assumes the white walkers are gone but what happened to those baby’s the night king turned. They definitely weren’t at winterfell during the battle of the long night so I have a strong feeling they are there and benjin is being held for information or maybe being used for some sort of magical sacrifice. Or maybe benjin has embraced becoming a white walker to defeat the truly evil bran the broken aka blood raven. No one should have the ability to raise the dead but the only power that even goes beyond that is manipulating the past. Hell do we even know if the white walker’s where really even bad evil? The night king didn’t go south of the wall until bloodraven was there and before that he was looking for him in the tree. Just maybe the night kings goal all along was to just get rid of the one who can manipulate the past or maybe even take his power too change the fact he became a white walker in the first place. So many mystery’s surrounding what’s north of the wall the white walkers and what the three eyed raven really is.
The Night King didn't go south of the wall because the wall was enchanted to prevent him from crossing it, it wasn't until he had one of Dany's dragons raised as an undead that could melt down the wall that he could cross it, as it's enchantment was then weakened or destroyed. The Children of the Wood claimed they created the Night King to kill the humans who were threatening their lives, but the Night King decided to kill everyone, human, giant, children of the wood, everyone. I'm more inclined to believe the Children over a a theory that the Night King was kind and good and just misunderstood.
bran was never the night king! but he will be now, that mark the night king left on Bran's arm, well it does more than tell him where he is! he will slowly take over Bran with his magic he marked him with and slowly take over his mind ! now that he sits on the throne that is, the night king isn't dead! the night king is right around 600 yrs old, just like Melisandre, hmmm , does the house of the dragon ring a bell, the night king is someone we know from that time who always wanted to rule! Daammonnn!!!! he is the night king, why he is immune to fire, and can handle the undead dragon and fought with the dragon like he knew what he was doing. that is what i think anyways lol
Benjin, can be revived if dead, but i doubt he is,especially with the new snow series! he can't be turned into a white walker because of the children, so id say he is still alive,
D&D screwed it all up. Went from raising strategic wights in castle black. To being beaten by a little girl assassin who didn’t have any prior connection. To imagine what more we could’ve had is honestly depressing. If we had a decent final season we wouldn’t have so many un answered questions. Or if grrm would finish the books. Benjen had a lot of potential, like why not raise his own undead army and have him help fight the night king and die in that way? Idk just ehh and waiting.
He was halfway transformed into a White Walker when the Children of the Forest stuck a blade of dragonglass into his heart, which stopped the transformation from completing. He couldn't enter Castle Black in this state since he was half Walker, and the spells written into the foundations of the Wall prevented him from entering. This is in the episode in which he saves Bran and Meera. Benjen encountered the Children of the Forest, which means he encountered the Three Eyed Raven, who probably told him why he was in the position he was in and when and where to find Bran and Meera, and also Jon Snow. Remember that a person doesn't have to be dead to be transformed into a White Walker. All it takes is a scratch. Benjen was most likely just scratched.
I think its more likely that Howland Reed got him to go on some mystical mission. Btw there is no night king in the book just the night's king who lived 1000 yrs ago and only told in stories..their is no head of the whitewalkers as me know. It's all more a abstract thing in the books
Benjen will come back as the new leader of the walkers in the upcoming Jon snow series. He will have completed his transformation into a walker when rescuing Jon
Wasn't the night king rumoured to be Brandon Stark according to old-Nan? Hence why John is Ice & fire (related to the night king and Targaryen's) in the song of Ice and Fire. That is why the children of the forest made him a hybrid out of guilt?
I absolutely believe the night King is either a stark or is it was a night watchman his armor or clothes are pretty much identical just an older version of what the night watchman wear
I think it could be true about night king and benjen was good guy like him lot he was one my favourites and John will be come king because think someone kills bran that’s what I think
It's a real shame the way this property turned out, books and show started strong, started to drag, then show ending was rushed and shitty and the book series never finished to redeem the story. Oh well.
its RAY-GAR. and we wouldnt have guessed benjen would go to the wall? almost EVERY last son in every family goes to the wall. otherwise they wouldnt inherit anything unless they killed their older siblings. parents dont want that.
In the North it's looked on favorably to join the Watch, Benjen didn't want him to join remember he told him"you don't know what you'd be giving up". This goes towards my own theory that Benjin , LC Mormont, and Master Aemon all knew Jon's real identity. Remember lyanna and Ben were really close and I think Ned would have told him for sure. LC and Master I'm not convinced of but there's a few clues from them and both were honorable and Ben considered them his brothers. Plus it would have been awesome for Aemon to know he wasn't the last Targaryen.
Benjen saves both Jon and Bran. Benjen saves Bran and Mirian from the army of the dead and Carries them by horseback to the Wall. Benjen saves Jon from the White Walkers n the aotd when Jon takes the Hound along with the Brotherhood w/out banners to zombienap a single aotd & to bring it back to KingsLanding for proof of their existence to the Queen. Which they do henceforth
The Starks are the best family in the series. They are far from perfect, but theh seem to slways try to do the right thing. Evrn if ig leads to their oen deaths.
In Fire & Blood, Rhaenyra’s death is described as follows: “The smell of blood roused the dragon, who sniffed at Her Grace, then bathed her in a blast of flame, so suddenly that Ser Alfred’s cloak caught fire as he leapt away. Rhaenyra Targaryen had time to raise her head toward the sky and shierk out one last curse upon her half brother before Sunfyre’s jaws closed around her, tearing off her arm and shoulder.” (Fire & Blood, p. 550) Besides, we know from A Clash of Kings that dragons will only eat their food once it’s been charred, whether by their own flame or by someone else. As hatchlings, Drogon, Rhaegal and Viserion refused to eat horsemeat (even to the point of starvation) until Daenerys had her handmaides char it - not just cooked, it had to be seared black before they ate it. Targaryens aren’t immune to fire (except for Daenerys, who only survived Drogo’s pyre because of the magic that had already been set into motion that night).

Very interesting take on things..never thought about Jon being both Fire and Ice.
The book series strongly suggested the thought that the Night King was a Stark of the First men.
It kind of makes sense... After Benjen rescued Barn and Meera Benjen knew about the visions of Bran, so how??
I absolutely believe the night King is either a stark or is it was a night watchman his armor or clothes are pretty much identical just an older version of what the night watchman wear

In the show the three eyed raven ended up being so useless. He sees all and tells no one.
I like what you had to say. Are there any bookie written about the children of the forest they seem interesting
The truth is actually something else
Benjen acts to save others, but years of deception do not breed aultruisim. what was Benjens true motive to save Jon or Bran?

Dragons fire can’t burn Targaryen’s that’s why I believed the knights king was one because he was immune to dragons fire!
Yes..his stature reminds me of Daemon
