- The restoration of a die cast Matchbox Super Kings K112 Peterbilt truck and two trailers. I think this is a Peterbolt 359 or 379. Let me onow for sure if you are an expert on these.
I got these at a car boot in Hemswell Lincolnshire.
These bigger builds do take a lot of time to do. This was on and off for several weeks. Mainly waiting patiently for paint to dry.
The assembly part took several hours to record due to waiting for superglue to cure fully.
I do hope you enjoy the video. I intend to try and do something large and complicated about every 6-8 weeks along with my more normal and simpler builds. Nothing ever goes according to plan 100% in a die cast build though.

Stay safe and be happy. 👍
Lot of hard work gone into that
In for the long haul if you pardon the pun Mick. Thanks for watching 👍
That paint stripping was amazing - great result
Thanks Chris. Messy business
I had this as a kid
It must have been great to have as a kid. It’s far bigger than any die cast I had. Thank you for watching 👍
Stunning andy some work there mate well done 👏 👍
Yeah it took some doing this one. Thanks for watching 👍
Outstanding restoration Andy looks brilliant
Yes it all worked out in the end. I just had to get a few hours run in to finish it. Thanks for watching 👍

Thanks. Maybe my best one so far . Thank you for watching 👍
Looks amazing Andy a lot of hard work went into this model but you got there in the end fantastic Restoration well done 👍
Thank you Adrian. Never thought I’d finish it. Needed a clear day to get it over the line in the end. Took a few hours on assembly
👏👏👏
Thank you, much appreciated 👍
Great job Andy 👍🏻
Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for watching 👍

That looks amazing Andy a lot of work gone into getting it to this condition, excellent very well done
Cheers Kev. They do take some doing these big ones. Thanks for watching Kev.
@@andysgaragediecastrestorations thanks Andy
Good job Andy bit of a long this time, cheers Graham.
Yeah I try to keep them under the hour but the extra trailer and a few complications pushed this one over. Around 45 mins for a normal one and a simple one 30 mins or less is probably right. Thanks for watching and subscribing 👍
@@andysgaragediecastrestorations I didn't say, it was not interesting or I didn't didn't enjoy mate. Keep up the good work
@@theaussienurseflipper.8113 that’s ok I didn’t take any offence. Just trying to explain what my targets are and in this case how I miss them. Please keep commenting it’s good to get any feedback👍
Great video again, Andy. What paint do you use to chrome the parts and does it stay on if touched or rubbed.
I recognised the other trailer too. It's the Super King's Racing Car Transporter, K126, K136, K159 or K160. It is the base for the plastic body. Check Google.
Thanks for that information, it did have 3 numbers on it but I think I edited that bit out the video.
I use a foreign to of paint. Called Chameleon. It is better than trying to chrome pen parts like this. I got it at an auto jumble. Yes it stays on. If laquer Ed though it does dull a bit. Send me your email and I will send a picture. I’m at 916speed@gmail.com 👍
In my Mustang video out this evening I have put the chrome spray paint in a lot of the background shots. It is Kameleon by Samurai. I got it at an auto jumble. Hope that helps.
Yes I no but I’m shore you could of done something big and better
Yeah I used to do the real thing but you need bigger pockets. Cars are just money pits. I guess trucks are even bigger pits
Shocking what a waste of off time
Well when you have retired you have time to waste as they say.😂 thanks for watching. Much appreciated
