- On October 21, the Harvard Law School Center on the Legal Profession hosted a conversation between D. Y. Chandrachud, chief justice of India’s Supreme Court, and David B. Wilkins, Lester Kissel Professor of Law and Faculty Director of the Center on the Legal Profession, on the state of the legal profession and the role of the judiciary in India and around the world. Co-sponsored by the Lakshmi Mittal and Family South Asia Institute at Harvard University.

@@MossadCIA43 I get how bad your mindset is from the last line , first of all his father retired from supreme court in 1985 and he became a judge in supreme court in 2016 , can you see the difference in years and most important in collegium his father was not there , CJI is being selected by president and other judges of sc , he may be preferred above bcoz of his background. But you can't be CJI bcoz of nepotism but bcoz of experience and knowledge

Indian SC had good judges, Justice Chandrachur is a very very competent Judge who does not leave thing to happen but he makes it happen.

You cant nepotism is required you can be a district judge if you clear exam but cant be high court or supreme court judge

Just wish to ask Honorable CJI about the housing fiasco in India as to when will he use his expertise to resolve housing fiasco in India as lakhs of cheated home buyers are in distress. A retired CJI is heading such committee of one project since 2016 but with no results. Housing fiasco is almost 13 year old now.
Timely action is awaited though already too late, committee headed by ex CJI should be answerable for all the delay and chaos in the lives of cheated home buyers

We Indians have a lot of faith in the judicial system & the Judges who adorn the chair. The present CJI s a blessing to the present situation of turmoil of political governance. His stature of vast experience, hailing from the backdrop of elite legal personality ( his own father, the then CJI for a considerable long term of eminence), disposition of being more considerate to the principles of Constitution, for being firm to enacting strict internal discipline to all in the federal system, ensuring no damage to the secular democratic country, where the common people r fooled by cheap political false manifestos, impartial to minorities, stimulating hatred among the peace loving people on religious practices, corruption to the core etc.
Amidst this arrogant threat, the 'Judicial hierarchy & the collegium r only the hope for the common people from the bottom most to the billionaires of the corporate world.
Our regards & respects to our present CJI.. Our prayers for his well being.

Great man thinks and speaks beyond his profession.His direction to all professionals is to think beyond your specialisation,think about society.
India needs judicial reforms and how the HC and SC Judges are selected. Reforms more needed regarding functioning of the lower judiciary, particularly how they function to deliver justices in time.
Lower judiciary is under Government not under Judiciary , only high court and Supreme court are independent.
