A Revenant, in folklore, is an animated corpse that has been revived from the dead to haunt the living.
In the context of the song the “dear boy” is the murderer and the revenant is warning him that he will eventually pay for his crime and his time is drawing nigh. It’s likely that the two were acquainted in life.
The other performer is Pliego Villarreal. TW jokingly refer to him as Primo or cousin because they share the same last name but are not related.
The song is as intended - haunting. The harmonies are outstanding. The song is complex in its simplicity and beauty.

Ahhh, the lyrics make much more sense to me now. I was feeling guilty because in the US, when this song was first released, there had been a couple of school shootings close to the release. To me, this song sounded like it was delving into the mind of someone who had committed such an atrocity. I knew it couldn't be because the song was written many months before, but the timing of the release was uncanny. The song is another example of how each listener can imbue their own personal feelings and experience to resonate with the song.

Probably one of the most plaintive and mesmerizing melodies I can think of in recent times. The exact lyrical focus of the song will probably never be explained and that's how it should be. It's so riveting that everyone that hears it draws mental images of their own. That's world class songwriting.

Ale's voice is exceptional. It's not really fit for rock n Roll or metal. She does fine when she steps up to take Daniela's place when needed. As I understand it Ale doesn't like to take lead. But if she ever decides to step up and take lead I hope it's a song written for her voice. I don't think people will be able to handle it. I'm sure people will have melt downs. Ale has a voice that of the crooner style which is slow and smooth as in silk. I have found several songs that fit her. I'm tearing up just thinking about it.

This is one of those Warning songs where you really need to take time to mull over the lyrics and try to come to your own sense of what it's all about. They are so very good at writing songs that make you think, and also leave the door intentionally open for you're own understanding. Takes the beauty of the music, the world-level instrumental skill, the sheer energy and joy of the live performances to an entirely 'nuther level beyond anything else that's out there from anybody these days.

One of the great things about DPA is that they don't have one voice. Dany can go from pop to metal. Pau can go from heart wrenching ballads to a rock scream. Ale can sing like an angel or rock it out. They all have many voices and they use whatever fits each song best. That's one reason no two of their songs sound the same. Then there are the harmonies and backing vocals where they pull back to support the lead singer, whoever she may be.

Not sure where you got that from since it is not even a guitar per se. It's a 10 string bajo quinto, a type of bass guitar. The artist is César Pliego Villarreal from the Mexican band Kinky. He shares the same last name but they are not related though the ladies call him cousin. Not sure about teachers for Dany and Pau though I know there have been several. Ale's bass teacher Pablo Gonzalez Sarre and Pau's more recent drum coach Beto Ramos are the only two I am sure of though I'm sure they have picked up a lot from bands they have played with. Brenda Martin from Eruca Sativa comes to mind for Ale.

Ohhhhhhh those harmonies. One of many reasons why The Warning is so good. My interpretation of this great song, is that it speaks about the evil autocrat leaders around the world. Revenant is someone who returns from the dead. Some people many think the most evil ones were defeated in the past yet evil leaders continue to emerge in different countries. The Warning provides hope by making people aware of problems and inspiring them to do better.

At the start of the video, there are a couple of cat/wolf whistles sounded and they could easily go in your direction.
What makes The Warning different, special and unique for us?
Beyond their amazing talent in song writing, lyrics, playing and singing, they present themselves as real as they are. Beautiful, feminine, females who attract everyone by being themselves. They don't have to shave half of the head, wear special garb to look the part, cover themselves in tattoos, yell profanities to sound cool or act like bad asses.
The look and sound fabulous just the way they are.
Now this song ! Pau and the ladies showed their versatility by singing beautifully, relaxed, sitting down and allowing us to take in how special they are. Ale and Dany reversed their singing roles by Dany singing lower and Ale the angelic hi's.
The guitar played is a 10 string guitar called a "Quinto" meaning 5th which is used mainly in Tejano or Mexican Conjunto Bands, along with an accordion.
    Great Reaction Neighbor !

You are point on with the harmonies. I have heard this song numerous times and have just taken them for granted.

These ladies just nail it. Every. Single. Time. I've listened to most, maybe all, of their songs, sometimes multiple versions, and I just can't find one that isn't good. I like a lot of different kinds of music from a lot of bands and singers, and I can't think of any that are this consistently top notch. Every other band I can think of has at least one or two songs that are just "meh"; but not The Warning.

    A lovely reaction, my dear.
I'm a jaded, cynical old.fart. I don't know how the girls do it. I've heard this song dozens of times. And every single time.
    Every.
    Single.
    Time.....

The time with our new red headed neighbor always seems to short. One way to fix that is for you to do a reaction to 2017 Ted X talk by The Warning. Looking forward to seeing your reactions

"I don't think there's and end to their talent is there?" I certainly hope not! I personally don't think so! If all goes well...my friends and family will play a song by The Warning at my funeral.

    *Revenant*
a REVENANT is "one that returns after death or a long absence"... this song by DPA/TW is the 12th one on their "ERROR" album, their 3rd since they became a band 10 years ago... to me, this song appears to be about loss, heartbreak, and pain... they have a few songs of similar theme... in this one, the protagonist seems to want to say goodby to the past after some sort of breakup or possibly a death... they are trying to come to terms with what happened and are seeking the truth about what transpired... going by the definition of REVENANT, maybe that one who has been gone is returning or has returned and maybe there is some hope for reconciliation of sorts?
in this rendition of DPA/TW's *Revenant* , the guest musician is Pliego Villarreal (no relation to DPA but they do call him cousin) and he is playing a Mexican 10 string bass known as a bajo quinto... it is strung as 5 pairs of strings with 4 bass and 6 guitar strings...
other guest musicians have been Beto Ramos (Pau's drum coach), Pablo González Sarre (Ale's bass coach and band mentor), Arejay Hale (Halestorm drummer), and Barry Stock (Three Days Grace lead guitar)... they have also shared the stage with other bands like Moderatto (an '80s glam metal parody band) and Eruca Sativa (Argentine alternative rock band)...

Yeah....harmony vocals are one of the more impressive tools they can bring to a song. Nice reaction, have to agree with you about pretty much everything.
Seeing as how you are focused on "Pau songs" here is a suggestion for another one where Paulina takes lead.
The last song on their QOTMS album 'The End (Stars Always Seem To Fade)'. th-cam.com/video/FK7pLOWEYJU/w-d-xo.html
Dany makes her Manson cry and Ale plays piano, a couple things you haven't seen yet.
