Glad you revisited this song. 7 months ago the fan-cam video just didn't cut it!! Its been mentioned in other comments from other reactors: Their record label wanted one more song to be added to their album "ERROR" and asked Pau for her song (Breathe) she agreed with the stipulation that she will not be forced to sing this song live, it was added to their album "ERROR" as a bonus track. I believe at their concert at Teatro Metro a recording of Breathe was played during a break. Now at Pepsi Center with 8,000 in attendance Pau felt compelled to sing Breathe live as a gesture of gratitude for the love and support of the fans. Don't think she will be doing a live performance of Breathe any time soon!
I think at 17 I was the worse human being, I ever was. Now 30yrs later I feel like I was the most honest, I've ever been. There is a wisdom that comes from the Truth of our youth. We realize this as age dulls the edges of our feelings. I think the reason we love this performance is we all remember the things we forgot. I've also thought a lot about how they were writing such mature songs so young many times. the thing that I keep coming back to is that they are just incredibly empathetic people and it is very easy for them to put themselves into those situations and understand the emotions and thoughts that are associated with it.

Liking your ongoing support for The Warning. I believe that when little girls were starting their musical journey, that they were asked if they wanted piano lessons. It wasn't a matter of "whether they wanted to or not", it was more of an offer to them because they had so much fun at a music camp that they attended. They said, "Yes!" with enthusiasm. I look for to the next reaction.
To this day, they still are agog that people remember the lyrics to songs they played as kids. I think that every single day when they are on tour is a "pinch me, because I can't believe I'm not dreaming" moment for them.

At the best of times this is a difficult song for to perform, it’s a song with a personal meaning which she never meant to perform live. They needed one more song for the album and she agreed to put it on the album as a bonus track, recorded on the piano in their home and produced by Pau. You add to the mix the girls were sick at the time of this show and while Dany and Ale were just starting to feel better, Pau was going through the worst of it, yet they decided to go on as to not disappoint their fans. Professionals to the last.
For the Error album, the studio requested another song. Pau had written Breathe and agreed to have it on the album if she never had to play it live. That was written into the album contract. The recorded version was not done in a studio, but with Pau playing their slightly out of tune home piano. During the album debut concert (Teatro Metropolitan CDMX 2022 th-cam.com/video/FGzD4PkhARk/w-d-xo.html), they played the album track with no one on stage. Gave me the chills.
This kind of emotion and profound connection between an artist, her soul and the crowd's, it's something that neither A.I. nor any other technology will be able to replicate ever. This is art. Art is inherently human for it's not meant to be perfect. And by not trying to be, it becomes perfect if just for one moment. Just like that night at Pepsi Center one year ago. ❤️
Will I ever be able to whatch this without being reduced to a blubbering mess? They always had the ability to convey feelings and emotions that aren't necessarily their own, Black Holes for instance, but when they do talk about their own it just hits extra hard. This concert was probably part therapy session for Pau and Dany while Ale was in the back eating snacks! 😉
I hope this performance was a bit cathartic for Pau, maybe she can close the door on the chapter that created this song, but I doubt she'll ever sing it again. En su momento dijo que no la iba a interpretar en vivo porque era una canción muy personal y muy sentida para ella. Dicen que compuso la canción al conocer el fallecimiento de una amiga pero no existe información oficial al respecto. Cuando The Warning presentó su álbum "Error" en el Teatro Metropolitan de Ciudad de México en el 2022, se escuchó la pista de la canción "Breathe" en el interludio del concierto. Paulina en ese momento se negó a interpretar la canción en vivo. Finalmente, en octubre del 2023, en el concierto del Pepsi Center, creo que Paulina encontró la oportunidad ante 8 mil personas de exorcizar la canción y de alguna manera sacar la pesada carga emocional que llevaba dentro de sí. Un detalle a resaltar. Paulina junto a sus hermanas llegaron a México luego de una gira por Sudamérica con un contagio de gripe muy fuerte. Es posible que se hayan contagiado de gripe aviar. Está gripe fuerte que produce infección en la garganta, dolores musculares, tos permanente y fiebres muy altas hizo peligrar los conciertos en México. Sin embargo, las hermanas decidieron avanzar con el calendario y someterse a un tratamiento médico intensivo, con inyecciones antivirales y antiinflamatorios para bajar la fiebre, reducir los dolores musculares y la inflamación de la garganta.
