Hi Scotty, you mentioned "burning oil". My 2015 Audi Q7 S-line burns approx. a quart of oil every six months. I get it serviced at the Audi dealership once a year. Every year I've owned it, I've needed to drop by half way through because the low oil light goes on and they need to top it off with a quart. One year, I needed to top it off twice after a couple trips to Yosemite. Otherwise, it's been a great car. Should I get rid of this Q7 sooner versus later?

The Crown Victoria and Mercury Grand Marquis where Assembled in Canada, and the Lincoln Town Car was made in Wixom, Michigan until Ford decided to close the Wixom plant in 2007 and in 2008 the Lincoln Town Car ended up being Assembled in Canada it has the same engine built in Michigan but the final assembly took place in Canada.
Just like the Town Car from Lincoln Ford Wixom built the Town Car with the engine and transmission made in the USA and then the send the parts to the St. Thomas facility in Ontario, Canada and assembled the Ford Crown Victoria, Mercury Grand Marquis, and Mercury Marauder, then after the Wixom plant closed the remaining parts for the Lincoln Town Car where sent to the St.Thomas Facility for final assembly and the St.Thomas Facility closed in 2011 that is suppose to be closing the Flatrock plant to shift production of the Ford Mustang to Canada to produce a bunch of right hand drive Mustangs that is more suitable for Japanese quality standards and also to keep the 6 in production in North America but in Canada instead of USA and for the Fusion and MKZ from Lincoln in production, as Ford decided to close it and the Mazda 6 ended up being produced in Japan.
If it where for Ford to have better relations with Mazda then Ford will end up closing the Flatrock plant and then Ford ends up producing all of the Ford Mustangs in St. Thomas, Ontario Canada where most of the Ford Mustangs will be exported to Japan because it met Japan’s quality standards, the reason why Ford close the facility and get out of Japan and if Ford will be selling their cars in Japan then all the Ford Mustang cars are going to be built in St.Thomas Ontario, Canada instead of Flatrock, Michigan.

The weekend before Thanksgiving I was on my way to Tulsa Oklahoma. In Illinois on i70 doing 80 a Maserati went past me at 95. So I tucked in behind him at dropped the hammer even further. It had the timing chain cam phaser problem when I got it but ever since it was fixed it hasn't given me any problems and it has 243k on it. It's because it is taken care of. These people who beat the piss out of something or don't do maintenance in my opinion have no right to call something junk or unreliable. Anywhere it snows half the year is why they sell well. Ground clearance is needed in deeper stuff. Taller storage is also a reason. I have a 4dr sedan too and love it…way better to drive all around and big trunk…but when it snows hard, I could be stuck a day I can’t miss work. Plows don’t consider people working in the morning and skip side streets in bad storms. Nothing really beats a truck bed for utility and clearances.

@@bjornironsides6474 I have a truck with 4 wheel drive. If I was to get an SUV it would be a real SUV, body on frame, real 4x4, not those little tiny things. A lot of those things are just marginally higher than a car, but are basically the same size. Full size sedans, that automakers decided to stop making for some reason, have more room than these compact SUVs.

I have owned several Jeep models over several years. I have owned a 4x4 for the past 23 yrs because of were I live. I live in the Missouri Ozarks and my home is at the bottom of two large hills. They do not maintain our roads during the winter. It is gravel and I live between two low water bridges. When it rains it floods bad. The ground clearance of my 2007 Jeep JK Unlimited has aloud me to get out during high water . I can make it out on the smaller bridge if I can visually see the concrete . I have also made it out even when the hills are iced over. These hills are very steep. I like what you said about maintaining your vehicles. Jeeps get a bad rap but my JKU turned 300,000 miles before the engine quit. The transmission lasted until 276,000 original miles before I had it replaced. I use my jeep hard. I tow two rick of oak fire wood behind it, take it off road camping and kayaking. I have also driven it from Mo to N.M. at least twice a year for 12 yrs 1000 miles each way. My catalytic converters failed causing engine failure. I will be putting another motor in it soon. I did buy a 2016 Subaru Crosstrek with 5 speed manual transmission in it . I love the fuel economy and the all wheel drive gets me most of the places I went in my jeep. I do however miss the ground clearance of my JKU. I also miss the capability of being able to tow my trailer to pick up firewood, lumber, my sailboat or even my kayak trailer. I actually had to call in late to work because of flooding. This was the first time I ever had to call in for flooding in 22 yrs of working at the same place. If I had my Jeep back up I would have made it out safely . I say all this to back up what you said earlier. I maintain my vehicles so they last me allot of miles. My previous jeep was a 1998 jeep Cherokee and it had 278,000 miles on it before a young lady hit my wife head on. They totaled the jeep after that. I also drive 23 miles one way to work everyday. I live in the country so it's very important to me to maintain my vehicles. I bought my house with 14.5 acres for $55,000 another reason I live were I do. Love your videos Scotty keep them coming.

Scotty is always preaching Toyota and Honda reliability. I don’t argue their engines reliability. But I just drove my buddie’s Toyota and it was the cheapest vehicle I have ever ridden in with exception to a dodge neon. I’ve seen Chevy cavaliers with 200k(after head gasket replacement) hold up better than his RAV4 which only had 90k.
It left me questioning a lot of what Scotty says. He should focus a lot more on vehicles’ comfort, performance, capability, quality. There’s a lot more to a vehicle than how long the engine lasts. Many more parts besides the engine and transmission which wear out.
I asked my buddy, why does his dash, hatch, and every door panel vibrate loudly over every little bump? He said, “it’s cheap.” The price tag isn’t!

The earliest Fusions had Aisin automatics. With skyrocketing fuel prices, we better learn how to make cars again, or we'll have Broncos the size of go-karts. Stupid SUVS!

Factory cars with turbos on them get a bad rap from guys like this. All three of my vehicles are boosted, two turbos, and one SC. If you take care of them, and don't drive them like you stole them, they will last just as long as an NA car.
Scotty, I know you have a lot of subscribers, but some of your claims are mere opinion, not based on fact. Everyone can get a lemon, but that doesn't mean they are all bad. I have owned all three American brands, and nothing beats Ford for longevity and reliability.

I found one for $10k with 105k miles up here in Dallas. I’m really skeptical now about trans reliability after my last two cars had their trans blow out, and the price was more than the car was worth. This makes me feel a little more confident knowing that these can last over 200k on original trans and engine

    • @mikey3980

Get it. I have a 2014 1.5 Fusion SE Ecoboost with 160k miles. I flushed transmission and coolant at 150k miles, no problems. Oil changes every 5-7k miles. Make sure you replace spark plugs and coil packs too. My car has been paid off for 4 years. New cars are over priced.

So in reality the Fusion is built off the Mondeo platform from Ford Europe, developed after Ford sold their ownership in Mazda

    • @fredzeppelin3969
      @fredzeppelin3969 2 ปีที่แล้ว

Ford/Mazda/Volvo collaborated on things then. The C-1 platform sat under the first and second gen Mazda3/5, the Focus (to date), the C-Maxx, and Volvo S-40/C-30. The first Fusions (and Mercury Milan) shared the Mazda6 platform, I would assume a Volvo model did as well

If you drive the 2.0 it's good. Once the miles get high you have to get the turbo cleaned out or replaced if necessary. Also get a tune up, replace the low and high fuel pressure sensors use lucas fuel treatment and blend oil with premium gas.
