I forgot to mention to add Clear Wax before using the Mineral Spirits on the Black Wax at 6:49, Don't forget this important step! Enjoy the video and let me know which one was your favorite!
I totally agree. After watching many Kacha videos and learning important tips from her I painted my first end table and I must say I impressed myself. It’s fun learning all the different things that can be done. She is excellent!
I now keep my eyes open at my local thrift shop for very inexpensive items to try stuff on. I recently bought a wooden plate/dish (very mid-century modern style - a style which I love) to practice my gold leaf. I painted it hot pink, then experimented with gold leaf, and it’s a good thing I did because I would have made some serious mistakes on the furniture I wanted to do this technique on! Anyhow, through trial and error, I got my project done, and it looks fabulous. Oh, and that little hot pink & gold dish is now sitting on my living room coffee table, and it looks great…and it reminds me to play and grow! Thank you, Kasha!
This was great to see you do smaller projects. Love them all. I would like to see more smaller projects in the future in addition to your fabulous furniture pieces.
Oh my goodness, I am in love with your style!! Everything you do is So glamorous! Absolutely stunning, gorgeous and dreamy! Keep doing you!! It’s all fabulous!! ❤ You!!!
I love your enthusiasm! It’s so much fun to watch you. I wish you could come to my home and transform my bedroom into the same colors and feelings of your store!!! I absolutely love love your style.
Kacha, you are amazing! Definitely shows that you put your geart and soul into every piece! I absolutely love watching your videos they are so informative! Merry Christmas to you and Carlos and your fur babies ❣️😊
I found the exact stool in an antique shop years ago and have never seen another. Love the way yo spruced up the iron base with gold wax. Enjoyed your show. Thanks for sharing.
You are absolutely adorable and I'm so glad I found your channel! All these projects were awesome! I think the flower table was my favorite. Merry Christmas!
As usual, lovely ideas! I absolutely adore the little black footstool! 😍 A note on the brass lamp: If you want to make it look a bit less flat and give it a more natural looking patina, once it has cured you can apply some dark wax to it and wipe it off right away so that the wax is only left in the grooves (just stipple some on pure because a glaze tends to dissolve the gilding wax. By stippling I mean, just dabbing on with the tip of the wax brush). You can also use a lighter shade of gilding wax on just the very tops of the protruding bits (or "bumps? I don't know how to say this). Apply very sparingly with your fingertips. On some gilding wax projects I have also added brown and/or black acrylic paint (stippled and wiped off) and even sometimes, Liberon verdigris wax - it all depends on the item and the look you are going for). I LOVE playing around with gilding wax! :)
Kacha, i love watching you upcycle these small projects. All of them turned out amazing!! Boring and Kacha does not belong in the same sentence. You are funny and i love watching you. That new Freida color is beautiful
This has given me hope for being able to do this without picking up heavy furniture, so thank you so much! I just want to cover everything in gold leaf now 😂
I don’t have a favorite because I love them all. Well maybe the stool with the white fur on top! What I love about watching you is that it opens my mind to playing with things I already own. But they are tired. They need to be loved with a new approach. I think you help us think outside of the box and take risks! So fun. ❤️🥰😜
Wow, I can't believe its been a year already having you sharing your inspiration with me helping me think outside the box. Thank you for sharing Kacha😊
Hey i love the Frida Blue colour chalk paint from Annie Sloane. However don't mind me putting in a small top for you and others reading. The decoupage paper would always look best on a white or a lightest colour base. So what you could try is, instead of painting the table top any darker color, you could do the decoupage on white and then blend the sides/ edges/ corners with the colour you want your table in. Try on white base, it would glam up.
So good to see new content! I love the tip using a wash mixing mineral spirits and black wax. I'm definitely trying this! The little stool oh and the little table are my favs. Can't wait to see what's next! Merry Christmas and Happy Healthy New Year to you, Carlos and the pups!
I love these projects, Kacha!💞 I also have a (cast iron?) footstool that is very similar to yours, Kacha. I couldn't decide what to do with it until seeing your video! It will be stunning in gold! Thank you so much for the inspiration!😘🎄
