This is the kind of review that sells me on games! Absolute banger as always. I've been playing for 50+ hours myself, and tbh, I still have many things that I still need to unlock, find and discover. Absolutely my personal GOTY 2023.
People complaining about graphics seem to forget From Software has been turning out higher quality AAA games faster than anyone else. Over the last 5 or 6 years not many have manage to turn out as many great games as From Soft. They are doing something right. Their engine and dev team are doing an incredible job. Give me the gameplay first and screw the haters. The only thing I could ask for is proper widescreen support. Please for the love of god From Soft...

it's VERY different than previous AC games. But you could say the same about many AC games. Played a couple hours last night, taking me a while to get used to the movement. It hasn't really clicked yet, but I only just started. I think I'm going to love this game.
I was kinda skeptical about the game but it’s so fun. The combat is very satisfying and fast paced. Plus the range of attachments and weapons is insane. Sure it’s difficult but the difficulty makes it that much more rewarding.
can't wait for the guides. This is going to be my first AC game since fooling around on a PS1 demo as a kid. I had no idea what was going on, but I can still remember that it looked really cool.
This is my first ever AC game I am around 6 missions in and my word am I glad I started to play, Having an absolute blast with it already! Got some great ideas for builds... Well they seem look good ideas time will tell. Which I found the series sooner, can't wait to play some more. From soft really are top of their game and have been for a long long time
Would be for me, too. However, I'm not a mecha fan at all, so I wish there was a demo (so people like me who adore FromSoft but aren't sure about AC) can try it out.
Honestly, as a new player, I'm glad to see how insanely new player friendly it is. You never see that in a fromsoftware game, when I tried ds3, it was so shit cause I kept getting lost and all that, and it's impossible to know what to do, but in this game, you jump on in, instantly learn the controls, it tells you ever little thing of what to do, and requires 0 skill, your just good to go! 😁👌 10/10 game imo.
Arms have always been more important than just extra armor. They also affected the efficiency of energy weapons, the delay between when your FCS targeted an enemy and when your weapons actually pointed at it, recoil control, and of course, the weight of the weapons you could carry.
Sound design is one of the most crucial things that separates FromSoft games from other Soulslikes… You literally hear your power. Crazy quality. Like in Nolans movies. Wo Long, Nioh, Wukong are far away from that.

I hope any build is viable, even if some missions are more difficult because of that. Regardless, I pre downloaded it and can't wait to try it out tonight! EDIT: Yes, you can craft the craziest build and make it viable. Just know what weapons you equip and what synergy they have. Such a magnificent game.
@@joevaghn457 Thanks for the info. I want to try a tank and a back leg build, so I don't mind changing weapons as long as I can use those leg types. Of course I'll spend a lot of time in the garage with the other two leg types. Any other advice would be more than helpful.
I doubt that every possible combination of parts will be viable. I think every part needs to have a purpose and be reasonably balanced. Since the game allows for such customization, it will probably be possible to make stupid choices. I have not been able to test the game, but I assume that a build that is too heavy for its legs, and has arms for melee weapons, while using guns would be garbage.
@@enman009 I've only played the PS1 games, so my knowledge kinda is lacking, but from what I remember, those games had situations where a specific "class" or type of body part was more *optimal* to use than another. For example, there's a mission where you go underground to plant bombs in a corrosive gas filled area, and quadrupedal legs were better than any other leg, where bipeds and reverse joints were doable, but tank legs would absolutely get you killed no matter what you tried (you'd be too slow to make it to the first bomb site). I'd personally recommend just experimenting. You can also go the stubborn route and stick with one build for the entire game, and who knows, sometimes you discover interesting strategies for completing missions that many others would miss because they were going PoLR the who game.
I’m so happy they separated some PVE and PvP elements this makes me feel better. Thx cowboy. I can’t wait to play it, I have it preordered. I know cringe but I have always wanted to play this game and never was able to being poor growing up. I had the $ so I didn’t want to miss out on anything. So hopefully as a new player to the franchise and me being mostly a PvP’er I hope that I can compete against all the vets like I do in ER. SO STOKED TO CUSTOMIZE MY AC. Just scared about the hard lock not being able to be broken but they said fly above your opponent. So I’m guessing trying to take advantage of from’s questionable camera work lolz

This is an absolutely top notch review. Forget "journalists" in this day and age. What you really want is someone who is an extremely knowledgeable long time fan that will out dozens of hours into the game and give an in depth review. I knew nothing about this game and I'm sold on it rn.
As someone who's also been waiting 10 yrs for this, I cannot wait to sink a few hundred or even thousand hours into this game. Gonna be me and Ashmead through the whole game, pile bunker for life.
I’m a souls fan and tried this game out just because its FromSoft. I love this game! The movement and combat are insanely satisfying! And I’m enjoying the story so far, too. And the music SLAPS!
I never played any Armored Core game, nor had any interested in playing them. Until this one came out, and I finally decided to check up one of Cowboy's videos. His enthusiasm and love for the game, and then the gameplay made me excited. Now I just watch every single video just to keep the hype going. I'm really liking what I'm seeing and, if things go well, I think starting with this one will be a great start to the franchise!
I've never played AC and have never really been into mech suit type games besides titanfall (if that counts) so I planned on passing this one up even though the gameplay looked pretty solid. fast forward to tonight and I tried it out on my buddies account until I got through the first boss, did some customizing, a couple ch.1 missions and instantly bought it. Fromsoftware never disappoints man they just know how to make great games every single one. I'm hyped to start this journey and get into some pvp soon with my buddies as well. keep the content coming bro love it!
I've been on the fence with this game, but, after this review, I'm going to go ahead and take the plunge. I only hope I can negotiate the learning curve because I've never played this franchise and it seems a steep one. But when Cowboy confirms something's a masterpiece, it typically always is.

Just pre-ordered, gonna be my first time jumping into armored core, the gameplay, mech customization, and this video sold me on it and gave me that last push to go on and buy.
Armored Core 6 is the ultimate mecha porn. Fell in love right after a few minutes. This game is the perfect translation of epic mecha fights fantasized on with anime. The feeling (weight, inertia) and animations of the mecha is a mecha lover's dream come true. Replayability is thrilling. Replaying a mission with a different mecha setup is game changing. To me, best mecha feeling EVER 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
This is my first AC game ever and loving it so far. I was playing Lords of the Fallen and said “hey let’s give this game a try” LOTF although a good game, took a back seat to this. Thank you for the review got me to try it and love it so far.
I'm going to end up with so many builds with how easy they make it to customize things. A build for kinetic, energy, shock and fire weapons, one build for each leg type, one build for each weight class, a build using all the parts I just think look cool, a build that uses dual shoulder weapons and one that uses all 4 hand weapons instead. SO many possibilities.
I'm not generally a mech or tech game person. I'm more of a sucker for fantasy RPGs, which is why I was waiting for BG3. But you convinced me with the customisability options. I'm a sucker for build optimising and spreadsheet gaming. Haven't been disappointed with anything published by FromSoft in the past decade, so let's give this a shot. BG3 will wait for the long winter days.

Very excited to start playing tonight. I was obsessed with Armored Core 1 and Master of Arena on PlayStation back in the day. I could never get anyone else interested in playing it. So happy it's back from the dead.
It’s storytelling without the “telling”. FromSoft throw you into fully realised worlds and force you to live in the moment within it, learning as much about it as you find necessary.

Best year for gaming. Chefs kiss if we get Elden Ring DLC in Nov or Dec. It is a 10/10 game for me. I lost track time coloring and building mechs. I am like trying to build as many as I can. Unlocking Arena made it even funner. The controls are the smoothest I have ever felt playing the early ones.
I just played the first mission and I’m already floored. After being beaten by that giant helicopter five times I finally got ‘im. I’ve been playing Armored Core since the 90’s. It’s good to be back.
I saw that PVP footage come out and was like YOOO thats the guy who helped me beat bloodborne and DS3 whooping ass over there. Glad to be seeing more from you on this one!

Agree on the visuals comments. I’ve never understood this. And it doesn’t help that even people who love these games seem to always add a qualifier like ‘the visuals aren’t top shelf… but… the gameplay is incredible’. FS titles are striking. Full stop. It’s kind of insane that their art team has remained so consistent for over 15 years now, within multiple settings and time periods. Art style is always priority. The world building, attention to detail, and ambience is unmatched. You feel like you’re in these worlds. And they are instantly recognizable. Everything feels hand crafted. Even a game like Ghost of Tsushima, that reuses a lot of assets and blander architecture, has incredible art style and tone, and that’s what sells that world as well. FS titles are some of the most beautiful in the industry. And I’m still baffled at how anyone can see this stuff and think otherwise.
Fromsoftware NEVER disappoints! My all time favorite video game company ❤ and I 100% trust fighting cowboy when talking about video games. If he says it's good, you better believe it is!
Cowboy, awesome review as always. I just want to add as I didn't hear it in the video, for others, that the build customization allows you to buy and sell parts for the same price. Maybe this was the same in other AC games, but I'm newcomer and this was pleasant surprise. So I can just try whatever weapon is available without fear of not liking it and losing my money.
Just finishing up Front Mission on Switch. Another Mech CLASSIC. Soon as I'm done, I will be downloading this on pc and playing until my fingers fall OFF 💪💪
This is my favorite AC6 review; thank you for such a great video. If you want to try a very different, but still customization focused, mech game, then I suggest looking into Gubdam Breaker 4.
Definitely hooked on this game. Flows so nice and very satisfying to whoop some ass. Bosses can be frustrating but there are plenty of builds you can make you can pull up before hand. Excellent review cowboy! Love your content
Im loving it: its impressive how much they improved on previous AC games, its shows the Devs really love this fanchise..gives me Hope for the future.. it feels so good to pilot your AC now. And the customization options... Im chapter 3+.. I got my ass kicked in NEST PVP.. i prefer doing missions. hoping for some Mods to add a ton of missions in the future.. I want DLCs... i want more AC 6..
Just finished the game, another incredible FromSoft game. Quality is through the roof, controls are as tight as Sekiro, art style is amazing and good story. Played through all the missions and AC arena fights and everything is great and nothing is even remotely a drag. Definitely the easiest FromSoft game, but loads of a fun. The bosses that are hard, are pretty hard. Only wish is they'd put more of the bigger or more elaborate bosses. Balteus is basically the most visually impressive and fun fight and enjoyed the volcano and spider dudes but after that it's mostly other AC's, which is fun but still. I've only done the 'bad' ending (didn't check ANY reviews or walkthroughs in advance) and the Ayre fight is pretty impressive.
well, Fighting cowboy got me into Sekiro and now I'm doing the Elden Ring walkthrough and I've come to the conclusion that he can't be wrong, if he says it's 10/10, it surely is, I was looking at the mediocre review on IGN where They listed it as an 8... seriously. I loved your review, I'll surely get it when it's on sale. What strikes me is that THERE ARE NO MICROTRANSACTIONS, something that Blizzard and others should learn from From Software.

All parts are viable, just some will make your life easier depending on the given situation.

This is an absolutely top notch review. Forget "journalists" in this day and age. What you really want is someone who is an extremely knowledgeable long time fan that will out dozens of hours into the game and give an in depth review.

As someone who's also been waiting 10 yrs for this, I cannot wait to sink a few hundred or even thousand hours into this game. Gonna be me and Ashmead through the whole game, pile bunker for life.

I’m a souls fan and tried this game out just because its FromSoft. I love this game! The movement and combat are insanely satisfying! And I’m enjoying the story so far, too. And the music SLAPS!
I never played any Armored Core game, nor had any interested in playing them. Until this one came out, and I finally decided to check up one of Cowboy's videos. His enthusiasm and love for the game, and then the gameplay made me excited. Now I just watch every single video just to keep the hype going. I'm really liking what I'm seeing and, if things go well, I think starting with this one will be a great start to the franchise!
Please, folks, let this game inspire you to explore the past titles as well. This series is (was) a hidden gem.

This year has been one of the most stacked years for gaming.
I've never played AC and have never really been into mech suit type games besides titanfall (if that counts) so I planned on passing this one up even though the gameplay looked pretty solid. fast forward to tonight and I tried it out on my buddies account until I got through the first boss, did some customizing, a couple ch.1 missions and instantly bought it. Fromsoftware never disappoints man they just know how to make great games every single one. I'm hyped to start this journey and get into some pvp soon with my buddies as well. keep the content coming bro love it!
I've been on the fence with this game, but, after this review, I'm going to go ahead and take the plunge. I only hope I can negotiate the learning curve because I've never played this franchise and it seems a steep one. But when Cowboy confirms something's a masterpiece, it typically always is.

Just pre-ordered, gonna be my first time jumping into armored core, the gameplay, mech customization, and this video sold me on it and gave me that last push to go on and buy.
Armored Core 6 is the ultimate mecha porn.
Fell in love right after a few minutes. This game is the perfect translation of epic mecha fights fantasized on with anime.
The feeling (weight, inertia) and animations of the mecha is a mecha lover's dream come true.
Replayability is thrilling. Replaying a mission with a different mecha setup is game changing. To me, best mecha feeling EVER 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
This is my first AC game ever and loving it so far. I was playing Lords of the Fallen and said “hey let’s give this game a try” LOTF although a good game, took a back seat to this. Thank you for the review got me to try it and love it so far.
I am so ready for this game, most likely gonna be my game of the year as well.
I'm going to end up with so many builds with how easy they make it to customize things. A build for kinetic, energy, shock and fire weapons, one build for each leg type, one build for each weight class, a build using all the parts I just think look cool, a build that uses dual shoulder weapons and one that uses all 4 hand weapons instead.
SO many possibilities.

I'm not generally a mech or tech game person. I'm more of a sucker for fantasy RPGs, which is why I was waiting for BG3. But you convinced me with the customisability options. I'm a sucker for build optimising and spreadsheet gaming. Haven't been disappointed with anything published by FromSoft in the past decade, so let's give this a shot. BG3 will wait for the long winter days.

All they need to add is Free For All, 2v2, and 4v4 alongside matchmaking and I could be playing this game for years to come. Really looking forward to future updates and hopefully DLC
Very excited to start playing tonight. I was obsessed with Armored Core 1 and Master of Arena on PlayStation back in the day. I could never get anyone else interested in playing it. So happy it's back from the dead.
It’s storytelling without the “telling”. FromSoft throw you into fully realised worlds and force you to live in the moment within it, learning as much about it as you find necessary.

It is a 10/10 game for me. I lost track time coloring and building mechs. I am like trying to build as many as I can. Unlocking Arena made it even funner.
The controls are the smoothest I have ever felt playing the early ones.

Agree on the visuals comments. I’ve never understood this. And it doesn’t help that even people who love these games seem to always add a qualifier like ‘the visuals aren’t top shelf… but… the gameplay is incredible’. FS titles are striking. Full stop. It’s kind of insane that their art team has remained so consistent for over 15 years now, within multiple settings and time periods. Art style is always priority. The world building, attention to detail, and ambience is unmatched. You feel like you’re in these worlds. And they are instantly recognizable. Everything feels hand crafted. Even a game like Ghost of Tsushima, that reuses a lot of assets and blander architecture, has incredible art style and tone, and that’s what sells that world as well. FS titles are some of the most beautiful in the industry. And I’m still baffled at how anyone can see this stuff and think otherwise.

I just want to add as I didn't hear it in the video, for others, that the build customization allows you to buy and sell parts for the same price.
Maybe this was the same in other AC games, but I'm newcomer and this was pleasant surprise. So I can just try whatever weapon is available without fear of not liking it and losing my money.
Just finishing up Front Mission on Switch. Another Mech CLASSIC. Soon as I'm done, I will be downloading this on pc and playing until my fingers fall OFF 💪💪

Definitely hooked on this game. Flows so nice and very satisfying to whoop some ass. Bosses can be frustrating but there are plenty of builds you can make you can pull up before hand. Excellent review cowboy! Love your content

Im loving it: its impressive how much they improved on previous AC games, its shows the Devs really love this fanchise..gives me Hope for the future.. it feels so good to pilot your AC now. And the customization options... Im chapter 3+.. I got my ass kicked in NEST PVP.. i prefer doing missions. hoping for some Mods to add a ton of missions in the future.. I want DLCs... i want more AC 6..

Just finished the game, another incredible FromSoft game. Quality is through the roof, controls are as tight as Sekiro, art style is amazing and good story. Played through all the missions and AC arena fights and everything is great and nothing is even remotely a drag. Definitely the easiest FromSoft game, but loads of a fun. The bosses that are hard, are pretty hard. Only wish is they'd put more of the bigger or more elaborate bosses. Balteus is basically the most visually impressive and fun fight and enjoyed the volcano and spider dudes but after that it's mostly other AC's, which is fun but still. I've only done the 'bad' ending (didn't check ANY reviews or walkthroughs in advance) and the Ayre fight is pretty impressive.
well, Fighting cowboy got me into Sekiro and now I'm doing the Elden Ring walkthrough and I've come to the conclusion that he can't be wrong, if he says it's 10/10, it surely is, I was looking at the mediocre review on IGN where They listed it as an 8... seriously. I loved your review, I'll surely get it when it's on sale. What strikes me is that THERE ARE NO MICROTRANSACTIONS, something that Blizzard and others should learn from From Software.
