Based on the knowledge gained during joint development of their recent titles, Bandai Namco Entertainment and FromSoftware seek to deliver a new action game. By combining FromSoftware’s longstanding expertise in mech games and their signature robust gameplay, ARMORED CORE VI FIRES OF RUBICON will be a new action experience.
In ARMORED CORE VI FIRES OF RUBICON, players will assemble and pilot their own mech with 3D maneuverability to move freely through three dimensional fast-paced missions. Take on difficult challenges and overwhelm your enemies with dynamic movements that make full use of ranged and melee combat. Players can enjoy a variety of actions that can only be truly realized with mechs.
A mysterious new substance was discovered on the remote planet, Rubicon 3. As an energy source, this substance was expected to dramatically advance humanity’s technological and communications capabilities. Instead, this substance caused a catastrophe that engulfed the planet and the surrounding stars in flames and storms, forming a Burning Star System.
Almost half a century later, the same substance resurfaced on Rubicon 3, a planet now contaminated and sealed off by the catastrophe.
Extra-terrestrial corporations and resistance groups fight over control of the substance. The player infiltrates Rubicon as an independent mercenary and finds themself in a struggle over the substance with the corporations and other factions.

I shared your excitement for this game. Pre-ordered. Then my wife woke me up at 8am Friday morning saying "omg my water broke" Our son was born release day! The best reason I can think of to have still not played the game lol. Shout out to my firstborn son, Joseph IV.

Some fatherly advice (I have a 7 month old as well as a 15 year old). While they're newborns you can lay them on your lap and play. Just use your forearms to brace them on both sides and hold the controller over their head as their head rests on your knees. My little one and I put in 100+ hours of playtime.

My only complaint is the lack of pre-customization. I wanted to change colors so bad and was 100% tilted. Idek how many stupid deaths I had.

I love that Fromsoft made the first boss difficult but not impossible if you understand why they gave you a blade as a starter weapon in the first place. Took me a few tries before I understood. 😅
First game in a long time where ive been stuck on a boss for a long time, but when he died i dropped my controller and yelled in success. Fucking love it

Seeing cowboy get dunked on that first boss made me feel a little bit better tbh. I nailed it second time, but getting that s rank might prove difficult. Cant change your loadout either

Pre-ordered this game and I beat it the weekend it came out, absolute gem. I was obsessed, I stepped away for a bit and i'm getting back into it again. feels like the first time again. It's super cool to see how other people play and build. I'm geeked by you're all heavy explosive arms and the sword. I typically fall back on my super light small arms build with the sword in the weapon bay so it's super interesting to see another style like this. This game really does have so much character and it's so cool to see peoples personalities shine through their mechs. Can't wait to see how your build grows over the course of the let's play. Great content fam.

Thank you so much for this. You don’t know how vindicated I feel watching you lose your first fight to the attack helicopter. I was feeling pretty demoralized after struggling so much with it, but seeing it provide a challenge for a pro helps legitimize the difficulty and confirm that it’s not just because I suck. 😅

The sword is a lot better than you would think so it is good to have one unless you are going full range also the training missions are worth doing when you get them

i usually play games as a beefy boi so i thought the tank would have been my jam but surprisingly its the grass hopper zippy ac and dual smg's that have caught my attention for now such a great game
The helicopter constantly goes behind the barrier and you use up energy just trying to get up to him. But if you can manage to hit him enough times before his stagger runs out he gets stunned and you can do some damage. It's just the constantly going behind the barrier and constantly running out of energy that's the real problem. Can't ever get that stun before it runs out.
Been wanting this. Saw it on 30% sale and watched a little of this video before deciding to go ahead and grab it. WOW. I love this game already! The only thing I currently struggle with is the booster thrust. I have huge hands and even small changes in my grip, especially during intense play, will click the left stick in. I have the same problem with every game. I crouch on accident SO much in souls games lol.

holy crap, this is so amazing. Thanks to you I am actually doing pretty good. Took about 5 or 6 tries to get that helicopter in the beginning, but i got the tetrapod on my first try and am having a blast. Enjoy your banter and watching you helps me figure out how to play better. I am getting back into games after a long abscence.
The Helicopter was easy, but the final boss of chapter 1 made me ragequit

But the elephant in the room was bazooka that it shoots right after those missiles. That killed me like 50 times lol

On the fence about getting this as I've never played an Armored Core game but love From's other titles.
It's definitely different form their Soulsborne series but can't argue that it has From's golden touch. Give a try, you won't be disappointed since it's a top tier game and is so much fun once you get the hang of it.
I recommend it, its my second one and this game will make you adapt your build to overcome bosses or missions.
PC version felt solid. No dodgy 0.1% lows unlike most modern ports...at least on my 5800x3d/6800xt combo.
Sadly… tons of crashes for some folks like me😢
10:10 new generator would be nice. I love how fast it recharges that first boss fight had me going a few times worrying about my boost but then realized don’t need to really look at it just look at where I’m going and tracking the boss.
12:50 - happened to me as well during the 8th time of attempting the first boss. Its ridiculously hard.

Dodge forward to avoid side rockets jump to avoid red rockets, boost towards boss hit with double slash rinse and repeat

I want to like the shields but they feel so clunky to use, really wish you could assault boost with them but they seemed to interrupt my charge though I am a bipedal build so maybe the heavier leg types can do so.

This is the 15th Armored Core, it's just the sixth to have a number. Also, Bloodborne 2 getting made at all is up to Sony, not Fromsoft.

Just played the first mission this morning. I’ve platinumed bloodborne sekiro and elden ring, and this is nothing like them. The first boss took like 6 attempts. Soo much going on and so few buttons to use. I may need to buy a pro/edge controller.
Having the jump on paddles is so good

The only thing I don't like is that boost control isn't all one button. Instead you have an ascend/jump and a separate boost activation button, almost like AC5. But I'm happy nonetheless
Cowboy you were using one slash of the Blade when the boss was stunned :)) You can use 2 slashes by Pressing L2 x 2

Armored Core!
This first boss destroyed me. I can't figure out how to dodge his missiles enough that even the area of effect drains my AP.
Is that one voice actor Patrick Warburton? Joe from family guy? lol
I couldn’t get past the helicopter when I played this. lol
So I know Cowboy has a beast PC. I'm looking to upgrade my GPU, possibly to a 3k series. Waiting to see some specs of how ACVI runs for different systems before deciding though.
How is the game performing for everyone?
Running this on a 1060 at 1080p, and I havent had any issues at all.
Its unironicly the most optimized Fromsoft game
Some people i know have a lower PC/Laptop than Cowboy and they have CONSISTENT FPS
Even the Steamdeck is consistent 50 fps
More consistent than Starfield will be
i only played abit of armored core many many years ago back on the psp era of playing one of these but never really got into it
