    Wiggins clearly has a passion for the sport and seemingly encyclopedic knowledge of its history. I am very impressed. It's rare to find the combination of intellect, athleticism and candor all embodied in a single personality.

    Is Brad from Kilburn.? He didn't mention it....

    • @josephhorton85
      @josephhorton85 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes he did mention it at around 8 minutes or so. He said he had to get out of Kilburn and cycling was it.

      I have read all of his books and heard all of his interviews, had he been from Kilburn then I would have heard him say it.

    Ditto there were no cyclists in 90s in London in lycra or otherwise, neither in Richmond Park! Lol cycling was nowhere in the UK in 90s....

    • @tonyfranklin8306
      @tonyfranklin8306 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Absolute bollocks, there were plenty if you were an actual cyclist and out on the roads! The facts show us that even with poorer recording data 1992 was only 10% less cycling miles than 2017 across the UK, London was not an outlier in terms of cycling trends at the time. Sports cycling is not the be all and end all!

      Tony Franklin rubbish, cycling in the UK was considered sport of slightly strange characters, not embraced by the masses... still even nowadays is nowhere compared to cycling levels in the Netherlands, there if you are not cycling you are considered strange. But this is to do with the very poor cycling infrastructure and road layout in the UK. My 6 yo felt very confident cycling anywhere in the Netherlands however I would not consider to take her on the road in the UK.

      I agree, I never saw other actual cyclists. I never got passed, if I did I would catch them up even if off route, now its everywhere!

    It's a dope to cope sport. Unless you have competed at the elite level, you simply do not understand the pressure on your body and on your lively hood. This isn't Disney, this is real life. We can't be asking out athletes to achieve super human feats without super human substances.

      @M I Merckx failed FOUR actually, three big races were he was DQ'd and then one smaller race. In an era of hardly any testing to get busted so often as EM did you can bank on it that he was as big a serial doper as LA, in fact I'd say he was identical, a bully, ruthless and win at all costs.
      You fan boys are all the same hypocritical ignoramuses!

    they didn't say squat about races and what happened in them. Three truly great cyclists and it's the most boring interview I can imagine. It's like they were avoiding talking about anything important. Wiggens acts like a hyperactive child. They have lived lives of great intensity and drama and now they seem ho hum about it. I want to hear race stories when I see great cyclists.

  • @msives

    Cycling is never going to move forward out of its doping era when it continues to celebrate dopers as heros. Kelly, Merckx, Basso, Cancellara Wiggins and Bettini to name just a few who were lauded on the stage of Rouleur as legends. Cycling as a sport deserves everything it gets'
