If the worst thing Claire can complain about is not having wooden chopsticks and a ramen spoon, I think our boy Aaron just knocked it out of the freaking park. Fellas, we got ourselves a recipe to try this weekend. Thank you Aaron!
Hey, love your channel but if I could make a suggestion, it would be great to have ingredients in description of the videos. I know you say use what you have on your kitchen but for those who crave some specific dishes you show and want to run to the market for quick shopping it would be so easier to have ingtiifients written down in description Keep up the good work! Your channel is amazing ❤️❤️❤️
I love watching you cook, you both inspire. I always get a kick out of Claire doing the dishes and waving at the end, I usually find myself waving back. 👋🏽 😂
My boy over at Way of Ramen got a quick Ajitama trick for you and the rest of the people here. Only 4-5 minutes after cooking the egg. 1 Tbsp Soy sauce 1 Tbsp Sake 1 Tsp Sugar Put this in a small pan and mix over low heat, when tiny bubbles appear you put your egg in there and roll it around for a little bit. It's not as good as the soaked ones but they're actually really good for how quickly it goes! Great video as always guys!
Drool! I just had to watch this twice! The ramen looks amazing! My son loves Miso....I am totally going to copy this when he comes home in a couple months! Thank you Aaron & Claire! Have a great week!
Honestly don't know why I wait until late to watch your videos! I get so hungry for these great meals that you prepare in no time flat! LOL! Love it, thanks for sharing. 🥰😎
Hi Aaron and Claire, I missed you been busy with all my motherhood responsibilities. But im back to see all your recipes. Ur making me a lots of good and easy recipes that all ur view i bit can do it on the home sweet home. I love you both more power and happy new year 😘
I could listen to Claire talk all day long even when I don’t understand what she says haha, love you guys!! Thank you for another amazing recipe Aaron!!
So simple, but what a fantastic presentation…makes it look like you spent 35-40mins working on this beautiful dish! I bet Claire is the happiest woman in Korea with a cook like you in her home lol! 👍🏼👍🏼👏🏼
I want to be Claire in my next life! I did see one problem with the recipe though - wouldn't more green onion make it more tasty? Seriously though, thank you! The videos are always a treat.
Aaron, you make it look so easy! Claire, you eat so elegantly and skillful! It would take me driving to the closest Chinese grocery and I bet a lot longer to make than you- even with a learning curve 🙃 Thank you!
It was great to see how much Claire enjoyed that! Great job of making everything look so tasty Aaron. Your dog & my dog have the same long legs & tail💕
I just subscribed because I’ve seen from time to time some of your videos and I just stayed ‘till the end and saw the washing dishes part, which let’s be honest is probably harder than the cooking process. And most of the time in a recipe video everyone uses small little bowls for every ingredient and a couple ustensils, but is the first time I see the aftermath of cooking. Like “Hey this is the recipe all nice, quick and easy, but don’t forgot you have to wash dishes for 20 min after” Great channel! I’m gonna come back when I’m in the mood for cooking and don’t know what!
As a half-Japanese American, I'm super impressed by this recipe - it's got all the traditional elements prepared in a amazing way - GREAT RECIPE! Big thanks to Claire for complaining about not having traditional utensils!!!
You guys are so cute and funny! Your recipes are delicious, but the two of you are why I watch. I am very excited to see you approach one million subscribers! You will do this soon! Take care, both of you! Looking forward to the next episode!
After watching this recipe, I have every intention to make the ramen soup but I only ended up at the Chashu (pork belly with that yummy glaze) !!! Oh was it ever delicious!!! I ate with rice & some steamed vegetables. It’s a whole meal itself, thanks Aaron!
I loooove this video. My hubby and I made our version of this dish for the family (2 teens) and it was totally amazing! Thanks Aaron! I love Claire’s comments she is the BEST and so cute! Keep up the great recipes my family thanks🙏🙏 you - the kids loved their ramen! How do I post a pic of my bowl? Your biggest fan, Kina/Tina 💕😋🍲
I like ramen a lot but never think want to make but this time I really want to try to make. You are really amazing teacher. I will let you know.... thanks teacher....
Absolutely loved this recipe! I didn't have ground beef, so I switched it up with some chorizo (which I always have lying around for some quick and easy flavour and fattiness) and I also added some fresh shiitake mushrooms.
That’s such an easy a delicious bowl of ramen! I actually had a bowl of ramen with some dumplings tonight for dinner. It’s soup weather with this cold front of ice and snow upon us! Thank you so much for the video! We appreciate you two so much!
Made this tonight . It was Delicious!!! Thank you for this easy to follow video . Haven't had such flavourful yummy food in ages 😊. Can't wait to try more recipes
That is really such a good recipe! I already made your Tantanmen Ramen a few times and it is so delicious :) But for people who are already planing to do some ramen the next day: I really recommend to marinade some ramen eggs and some menma! It is so flavorful and delicious and depending on the portion you can use it for other dishes! (Like Ramen, or just plain on rice or rice with a sauce. I marinade my menma i.a. with chicken stock, terriyaki and some hon-tsuyu. Cooked it up, and then let it simmer for 20 minutes until the sauce was mostly into the bamboo). The eggs need to be put out of the marinade after 2 days but in an airtight container both of my toppings were still good after 5 days. I just love the yellow of the ramen eggs xD But again, thank you for this easy and time-saving recipe!
👍🏻Thanks to talented creators like you I don’t think I will ever run out of new recipes to try. I am happy I found your channel it has so much to offer. I make TH-cam cooking videos too! I love learning new things from talented creators like you!! I’d love to learn more from you!
Chef Aaron..I love all your recipes but have made ramen a regular in my kitchen. I love experimenting with different combinations of vegetables, Protein and sauces. It is so delicious...I am sure it is not only fuel for the body but also the soul.💙💚💜
Omg I haven't seen one of you guys' videos in so long I forgot how much I missed you both!!!! And of course I LOVED this video (ramen is my favourite)! But I was wondering can you guys make some more videos of you guys going back to AYCE buffets, markets, or just normal restaurants??? I miss seeing those ones but I love watching these recipe videos too! I'm torn😂😂😂😂
Ooh that looks delicious as always, and we love making ramen~ we'll try out this recipe as well, we just need to find a nice place to get the pork belly. The usage of lard is also interesting! Thank you Aaron and Claire. Would you please tell us where you got the wonderful cutting board, I love it so much and would like to look for it as well! Greetings A & R, loyal viewers😊
We made this one at home today, amazing! Been trying out all sorts of home-made ramen during the years. 12h boil, 8h boil, 2h boil, chazu in oven, chicken etc But this one was so good! Think we just found our new favorite home-ramen. Thank you so much! (Also, just learned Sweden had non-salted porkbelly! Always only seen pre-salted one, kinda lile bacon. It was in another section at the food market haha)
My husband and I made this. It was really good! Although, it did take us about an hour. My suggestion would be to watch the video and write everything down because a lot of the time consuming element was I kept having to rewind to get the measurements for each ingredient even though I had watched it through once, and pulled everything out.
Holy crap Aaron and Claire! This looks delicious and I’ll have to try it. I love the red bowl and I am in the US. Is there a link as to where I can get several? 😜🤓
Waving HI to Claire 👋 ... Yep Aaron, I'm making this at 430am because I'm WIDE AWAKE listening to the wind howl as this snow hurricane / blizzard / nor'easter starts.... the whole house is asleep except me & the 🐕... She wants the bacon I'm using instead of pork belly!!!
Aaron, coming from someone who worked at a Japanese owned ramen restaurant, I have some advice for you about eggs! I felt pain while watching you peel that egg lol Make sure to poke a hole in the egg before cooking - on the “bottom” of the egg, the fatter side lol. A small one the size of a push pin. You can use a pushpin, or you can get an actual egg puncher from a Japanese dollar store When you peel the eggs, make sure to crush the shell before peeling it (I do this by rolling the egg under my hand on a hard surface after first tapping the side which has the push pin hole), but obviously not with enough strength to crush the egg). And peel the egg while it is submerged in the ice bath. The peel comes off way easier that way!!! Sorry if this is obnoxious lol. I just used to have to peel hundreds of eggs at a time and these are the tactics I used to go quickly
My goodness that pork belly looked amazing and with the eggs cooked so perfect, that's the best looking ramen bowl I've ever seen. You're the man Aaron.👍🏻😊
I can't blame you guys. I knew that I wasn't going to be eating for awhile and that we'd already made our trip to the store, but did that stop me from watching? Nope. Now I want to try this.
I made this for dinner tonight and it was just delicious! The only changes I made was for the pork. I didn't have pork belly(not could I find it at our store), so I used uncured bacon instead. I couldn't even tell the difference! Thanks so much for this great recipe.
Looks incredible, can't wait to try it out. I do have a question though, do you think it would be possible to make the broth way in advance??? Like in the afternoon to keep warm on very low heat for the evening?
I'd say Claire is the lucky one but after I made your 짜장면 (black bean noodles. No idea how to really romanize that) for my wife, I know how great the chef can feel. You're also a lucky one!

Seriously can't wait to try this🤤
Always showing off🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Maybe home-cooks can use their broil/grill feature on their home oven if they dont have a blow torch?
@@blacksesamecandies I would just put on the grill instead of pan frying.
I’m Japanese and I absolutely would try making this . It’s probably the best you can make at home under a hour . Bravo !!!!
Hey guys, haven't watched the full thing but I know it's gonna be great.
So sweet!😍😍

i agree with this 100% i always ask for an extra bowl of green onions to top off my ramen every time HEHE
