- Let's experience the McLaren Solus GT as it screams up the hill at Goodwood! The ultimate track toy with an 840hp V10; inspired by the Vision Gran Turismo car, has been brought into real life in a limited run of 25 being built. Come along for an exclusive and wild experience in the Solus GT!
Having taken part in the 2023 Festival of Speed Shootout, McLaren have come out on the top step of the podium with the Solus GT and a time of only 45.342. Featuring a race-derived 5.2l V10 it's a 200mph+ weapon that's heavily aero focused with well over 1,200kg of downforce. By creating a machine that's not targeting homologation for a race series, the rule book is freed and as such the Solus GT is built for the ultimate driver experience.
As a strict single seat, there's an overhead canopy that slides forwards to reveal a moulded central seat, made directly for each of the customers. Giving fighter jet vibes from the start, what it really comes down to is the sound and feel, and after a walkaround with Fred Martin-Dye, Product Manager for Solus GT, it's time to put some cameras onboard with Marvin Kirchhöfer for the hillclimb run.

@@Shmee150 it seems theres quite lot of visibility blocked area at the roof -ish level , why is that? or is there no blockage at all besides the front thin pillar? how about a gma t50 or sierra cars arx3 sort of drive around town at car meet, a school , the track around down backroad offroad etc

When the cockpit closed my eyes literally bugged out. Imagine the feeling being inside this beast.
That car is sick!! The stuff of dreams that every boy dreamed of going into a toy store. By far one of the most amazing I've ever seen and that's going back 40 years. Truly awesome.. Blessed to have that experience Tim! I Think Many Khoshbin is getting one..

Sitting in that thing must be the most insanely surreal experience, absolutely amazing that manufacturers bring these things to real life.
What a mental bit of kit. That Judd engine sings! Cant wait to see the obvious future video of a track day with the Valkyries, Solus GT, GMA T50 Lauda flying around. The sound at that track will be absolutely biblical!

Whilst I'm not a huge fan of the looks, there's no denying the savage sound of that engine. I've not long watched the Smith & Sniff video for Goodwood where you accidentally walked into shot as they were filming - the sound that thing made on start up caught in that video sounded utterly monstrous - even the boys were taken aback. Thanks for bringing a little closer look at this unusual car.

I personally think this is one of McLaren's best looking designs. One of their few cars that doesn't look like some generic GTA supercar imo.

Didn't expect something like this from McLaren. It made the hill climb look effortless and easy. Closest to this car I can think of is a track only version of Ferrari fxx face cars that are shipped around to different tracks with Ferrari teams to assist bit they can't take it home. Now that we've seen the Bolide, the Valkyrie, the AMG One, and the Solus, I think the only remaining track only hypercar that I'm still excitedly waiting on is the DeTomaso P900. Hopefully it will make its Goodwood debut in in the very near future!

I would have this over the Valkyrie any day of the week, would be interesting to see which is faster.
Would be awesome to see a hypercar track shootout. My money would be on Valkyrie AMR Pro on high speed tracks and McMurty on slower speed tracks. This Solus is awesome. I’m not interested in the AMG One at all
