We used to think the 90s were the pinnacle of super cars with the F1, CLK GTR, Porsche GT1, F40, 959, etc. But I think we’re arriving at a moment in automotive history people will look back on with similar awe and excitement. This thing, AMG One, Valkyrie, T.50, Huayra R, Jesko, the list goes on

It amazing to see car companies like McLaren are bringing their virtual race cars into reality. The v10 sounds majestic too. Imagine Mazda brought their virtual LM55 prototype with the modern R26B 4 rotor engine with skyactive technology and AWD. It could be the successor to the Furai. If one day it happens, I hope it doesn’t catch fire again
You're sitting in a fully enclosed perspex cockpit with a whopping big V10 behind you. Think they were probably a bit worried about the bad press of killing one of their ultra wealthy owners as I can't see any driver cooling vents in that cockpit at all.

Judd engine if anyone was wondering, for some reason they left the engine maker out and went with “bespoke” instead of their actual name “Judd” founded by John Judd and Jack Brabham in 1971. These guys helped provide the beautiful unique f1 sound.

While not officially specified from what I've been reading, that has to be the unmistakable sound of the Judd V10. That drone throughout the RPMs and the resonance of that intake noise is a dead giveaway after hearing it for years in the back of cars like the Lola B2K/10, Dallara SP1, Creation CA06 and the Epsilon Euskadi ee1. Pleasantly surprised as I didn't think I'd be hearing it again in ANYTHING modern.
Ollie could do worse than to take inspiration from his old Evo colleague Henry Catchpole and just let the interesting car people talk a bit more freely, without interrupting their flow. I know it's Top Gear and it needs to keep 14-year olds on Red Bull interested but still, respect is surely a timeless virtue?
The Vision Gran Turismo Cars are the best representation of turning the game imaginations into a real dream! McLaren have done just that right there, and stills gonna get more vivid than it already is…!
VGT project started almost at the end cycle of gran turismo 5 with Nissan being the first in this project so no, the designing of the cars were both done to work on their R&D and for the games, recent one being Porsche with their all electric VGT

Unbelievable, hats off to McLaren for pulling this off. Been a GT fan since the PS1 days, I like the idea of Vision GT but I never thought a manufacturer would actually put their VGT car into full production. I would LOVE to see Mazda and Hyundai follow suit, since their VGT cars seems to fit the idea of a modern LMP/LMH, and the new LMH regulations are more relaxed when it comes to overall design.

The engine sounds very close to the Judd V10 that was in Formula 1 in the 90s and LMP1s in the 2000s. Now I think Judd shared a few things with McLaren to make this thing. Awesome decision to go for an NA V10! Especially in these times where W16, V12s and V10s are dying.

WOW. While OTHER manufacturers go to Electric, McLaren went against to all of them and created N/A 5.2 V10 with SCREAMING 10500 RPM. Hat off 👌🏻
