My problem is overeating on OMAD. I can go ALL DAY without eating for 23 hours but when I get the green light to eat…it’s over. I start with a salad with leafy greens, nuts, olives, capers, hemp seeds, walnuts, avocado, bee pollen, and a homemade EVOO/balsamic vinegar/berry dressing and lots more honestly. Then I move onto my lean protein (salmon, pork chop, chicken, with a side of broccoli and maybe a sweet potato if I’m feeling hungry still. After all of that I’m not hungry at all but I feel like I want something sweet and this is where I get into trouble. I can eat my weight in sweets! Even after all of that good food. I think it’s the mentality that I won’t get to eat for another 23 hours so I make sure I’m overstuffed. I know it’s horrible but I’m not satisfied if I don’t have a sweet.
Perhaps OMAD is not a good idea for you then. To break the habit of gorging try eating a tiny meal every time you are hungry. I would recommend drinking a glass of water in between meals. You are chasing the feeling of fullness. I had the same issue. I am trying the smaller frequent meal approach myself. Also if you try mono meals for omad you may eat less. You add a lot of variety which can be stimulating. If you just eat the same thing and limit variety you will likely eat less. Thought I would chime in with what works for me. Best of luck to you!
