    Infatuation is seeing what you want to see. Love is seeing the person for who they are.

      @@aishanusoul you need to separate. Infatuation isn’t good for a woman (or for anyone). You need to cut things out, get space, and give your brain a chance to get back to normalcy. Usually, after a long time has passed (a month or more), you will be able to see the situation for what it is by then, and make appropriate decisions if necessary.

    Infatuation is the breeding ground for a soul tie. This is lust in another form.

    Infatuation usually is a cover up for pain. You're in some sort of emotional pain and are hoping to escape yourself by getting into a relationship with another person.

      Not the only way one could be infatuated. One could desire a genuine relationship. Sometimes, it has little more to do with pain, and much more to do with the desire alone to attain a relationship. Desire isn't always rooted in pain.

    This video is a blessing!!
    One thing that also helps me overcome infatuation is by journaling a list of things I DO NOT like about the person I am infatuated by. It's so easy to get bewitched by their good looks and charm, but it becomes dangerous when I brush off the things I don't like about them-- it becomes fantasy at that point.
    Plus, when I sit down and write all their flaws, it reminds me that they are also created by God. Not only that, but they too have been tainted by sin in this world, they too struggle with life's tribulations, etc. When I do that, I am able to REDIRECT MY AFFECTION to Christ, and ask Him if it is His will for me to be a light in this person's life, may His will be done.

    infatuation is similar to idolatry, intense or short lived admiration but love is sacrificial for benefitting others (John 15:13) serving inspite they dont deserve it. 2) An infatuated person is more interested in your external beauty like popularity, skill or beauty
    3) if the relationship is moving fast this is a sign of infatuation ( take time to find out more of this person)
    4) infatuation is when your expectations are way above your experiences

  • @theimprobableone8635

    I can tell if I’m infatuated if I think I’ll be devastated if the guy chooses someone else. If I can honestly pray for his well being and God’s will for the both of us, I know I just love him and want the best for him, even if that means another woman.

    • @lexussykes
      @lexussykes 4 ปีที่แล้ว +16

      You do tend to put their wants and needs ahead of your own. You love to see them do well and you help them as much as you can. You can stick with them through thick and thin I say you can love someone who is far away or close in proximity. You know they are human and you keep that in mind. You know the person of them well and you encourage their goals and them reaching for their goals you'd never isolate them and you'd never try to hurt them. If you're away or they are, you'll miss them. I couldn't say you'll never leave them, but you wouldn't if you know it's their time of need. If you like someone they'll be influence to you you may mirror what they do you'll try to find similarities infatuation does come along and leave quickly it can turn into true love or it would probably die I say if you are dating someone, date them a while. Don't rush marriage with them and be chaste otherwise you can confuse the two and when the infatuation ends so would the relationship between the two of you if you are experiencing I'd think love would be an obvious thing and itself simple to understand. I don't think I know a thing about it though.

    I wish I would have seen this video last year when I was having an infatuation love and thought this is the real love I was expecting. Although the signs were there since the beginning I didn't want to listen the voice of God because He warned me but I thought I will manage somehow and we will work out in the end. I had to broke up with my ex-girlfriend and end up any connection with her because all these signs here you presented I have felt on my own. I had to pass through a spiritual battle and suffered depression,psychosis,anxiety because of this trial and toxic relationship but finally after 6 months God lifted me up and I am way better than before,have my eyes opened and focus on the relationship with Him. I can see clearly now and I feel that He is calling me and He has provided me with a better plan for me in future and a godly wife. Thanks for sharing these with us here and I am sure you help lots of young people to choose the right path in life and having a blessed marriage. God bless you!

      SixStringsCovers amen! I’ve recently broken up with my ex like two weeks ago. At the beginning it was great he was a good guy good head on his shoulders, good manners, a gentleman, and he was going to law school. Right then and there I filled in the blinks to what I wanted to believe in and coming across this video I’m realizing it was infatuation. I as well didn’t wanted to listen/see the signs God was trying to tell/show me. And then at the end of the relationship my ex disrespected me by being unfaithful. I am too going through all the emotions slight depression but I’m pushing through with God on my side. Seeking Him more and more. Trying to learn and grow. God bless you that you finally got your breakthrough and to know that I’m not the only one. And God bless this video.

    Emotionally charged train wrecks. Infatuation or 'puppy love' is another word for making another human being a temporary god, a deliverer. 'Please!' it screams, 'Please deliver me from my loneliness, you're exactly what my soul wants, you are the person that can satisfy the longing in my soul'. But really what they want is a cover-up for the lust of their flesh and the lie that they must replace the LORD God with a god of sinful flesh. They want someone to satiate their unchecked passions and to stroke their egos. It is the greatest needful disappointment to realize that a mere person makes for a horrible deity. Like clinging to an idol that disintegrates to dust when you reach out to caress it. That's what it's like to cling to a person to satisfy every longing. What is man anyways? One day that handsome hunk will turn to dust. One day that hot babe will be in the ground. Physical appearance and ability is fleeting. We have nothing to boast of and can't even draw one breath apart from the grace and allowance of God. We can't move our feet or tongues apart from His sovereignty. Infatuation is nothing more than temporary worship of created being. When we look to a person to satisfy, we anger the LORD God intensely with our idolatry. It is just as bad as bowing down to a stone god or golden calf. The devotion will only last so long. Hot passions cool off, then what's left? What does it to the worshipper? And what does it do to the worshipee? (Is that even a word??) For any person to accept the worship of another is absolutely pride and narcisissm. Oooh but it feels so good to be wanted and adored, doesn't it? It feels so good to feel you are completing another person? It just sounds so right doesn't it? Wrong! Only GOD is meant to fill that role. "Thou shalt have no other gods before Me". That means GOD is first AND it means we are to present no other gods in His sight (before Him, in His presence). Scary to claim His Name and then forget all about him and go worship your 'crush' or 'lover' night and day in your thoughts, your dreams, your fantasies and escapades. Sensual and emotional Infatuation is a perversion that has been normalized and called 'falling in love'. No, infatuation is a sin that ranks right up there with bowing down in worship to golden calves. Accepting another's infatuation is the sin of pride and rebellion because it denies GOD is the ultimate authority and only HE deserves that honor.
    From someone who is contently married :)

      A lot of that comes from from hard face plants and experiences. It’s from our own brokenness, and while I have to daily cry out to God and walk under His authority, I do mourn for those who suffer and are in bondage to those idols. I was one of them. Deliverance and healing is about God, not us. I thank you for sharing.

    The part about things moving too fast waa definitely me. I had not taken time to know her and was pressured by her and her family into "marrying" her. She lied to me after I'd given some items for bride price. When I found out,I wanted to end it,but she cried and begged and begged and I stayed with her out of pity and for fear of not wanting her with someone else. Our relationship turned sour and verbally and physically abusive. We fought most times and she hardly ever said sorry. I realize I was more obsessed with her looks and what I thought was her character but in essence was not. The fact that I I traveled to another country and brought her there and she got an opening in the US and chose that over me kind of makes me realize she never even loved me. I made too many sacrifices for her but she did none for me. We were warned not to proceed with anything when an electrophoresis test revealed we are sickle cell disease carriers. She clung on to me and said we'd brave it but I kept wondering what I was doing preparing to start a life of agony having kids that will likely have such a painful disease. My family and friends all warned me. After 6 months of having moved in together, we broke up when she chose her trip to the US. I am angrier at myself for ignoring the warning signs. There were so MANY red flags but I didn't listen nor seek God's face. Please pray for me folks.

    Kind of like how one can view a pastor or church leader so highly and esteem them as an amazing servant of God; Then something happens with them and most get offended and leave the church or stop giving offerings.
    They forgot that church leaders are just like them and need prayer support because they sin too.

    To be honest, we don’t really know how we will respond to situations until we’re in them. In our heads we know what is and isn’t right but it may not be connected to our hearts.
    I fasted and prayed for 4 years. I did everything I believed that God wanted. Then when I started dating again it was like my old life came back. I don’t think I was purposely trying to sabotage God either. I was in such a vulnerable state and sin is blinding. Not enough people are aware of how seducing spirits work, how every thought isn’t our thoughts and even if we know those thoughts are demonic, they feel true. Explains why so many god-fearing Christians fall into death traps, literally.
    Not everything is good, but everything works out for His good. ❤️

But yes make sure you get to know the person till that point.Cause you could be great people and not be for each others or won't see that person like that after a while. They just might be other things that is not in your interest that you both might have differences in. Some people are not who they use to be.God bless you 👧🏼🙃📙

Maybe you can also give some insight into how your days normally run and how you prioritize things.

    What I think is missing is the married/engaged perspective... Because in the process of getting to know someone you shouldn't be controlled by emotions, that's right. But as soon as you know someone you can and should be able to let go a bit of that control. I think it is amazing to be in love with your spouse.
    Maybe you could do a follow up video on remaining in love with one's spouse 🤔🙂

    1.You focus on outer than inner apppearance. I do like his outer appearance, but his inner qualities stand out to me more.
    2. Fast speed. Hasn't happened to me, quite the opposite actually! The guy I'm interested in is currently a friend of mine, but praying to God that it will be more!
    3. Expectations above experiences. I don't really have expectations, but I do have hopes that I'll be able to talk to him, or that I'll see him randomly outside of church and such. I don't think that counts. And yes, while I am a planner, I do not get disappointed with him. Yes, if he'd rather talk to his other friends I don't feel overjoyed, but you can't expect when God is the real author and not a human.
    So overall, I don't think I am infatuated with my current crush. In elementary and middle school it was all about looks and personality. Then, my first church crush was about all of these magical fantasy lands that would probably never happen but made me feel good. Now, I am connecting with this inner personality from my current crush. May God the Father take away any "feelings" from my old church crush from last year unless if it is meant to be with him, and keep me away from infatuation! I can't be with both of the people, even though I am noticing my old crush's inner qualities now. Praying for discernment, please and letting go of what needs to move out!

    I was thinking about this last night... just in time. The contents is more important than the container. But, physical appearance is important which is why I wouldn't be in a relationship with a girl I don't find attractive at all. It just doesn't make sense to me. However the true nature of the person is what matters most and what you really need to look out for. You need both-good enough on the outside and beautiful on the inside

    • @misspriss2482
      @misspriss2482 5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I agree. There seems to be an emphasis in Christian circles on being entirely pragmatic about marriage and not considering the physical at all. I find this to be highly unrealistic and a recipe for disaster. If you're going to spend the rest of your life with someone, it had better be your best friend and someone that you're physically attracted to.

    • @archangel0137
      @archangel0137 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@misspriss2482 That's true especially for guys since we're visually-stimulated. Just think King David and Bathsheba?? If there's no physical attraction,the relationship is doomed to fail.

    • @goodenoughgirl8102
      @goodenoughgirl8102 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Archangel 01 I agree. I recently felt myself liking or admiring a guy friend of mine and I saw the inside first and then after I saw that, I was like wow! It was like he was right under my nose for HOW long and I hadn’t even considered it or noticed at all? This guy ain’t so bad on the outside either. Lol. I don’t know if he’s “the one” but I have to say that it was like God was saying to me-I gotcha covered girl. You don’t have to just like the inside only-you can have both. Lol. And I think I felt both love and infatuation/desire at different times. I think the trick is keeping the infatuation/desire monster in our heads under control really. Not letting it spin out of control, even if there is also real love there too. And I think sometimes women might have a harder time with that, as we are often a lot more in tune with our own emotions and more comfortable feeling and expressing them than men are.

    Hi Mark, how are you? It has been nice to see your channel grow and I think it is cool that you are making an Instagram page.
    I have a video suggestion. Would you be able to make a video about how to come out of prolonged singleness (ie 10 years or more) and how to start dating? I know several people (usually women) in the church who have never dated in their lives or haven't dated in 10 or more years and I would like to hear what your advice is. It would be cool to have a "basics" of relationships course for people with little to no romantic experience. Typically, my friends come from more conservative churches that preached hard line courtship but it is unfortunately paired with mostly older people in their church, a severe lack of attendance/ availability of young christian men, and they have no idea how to show interest in a man/get into a relationship because they haven't seen people get into relationships (older people tend to already have been married for 15 plus years).
