You definitely need to use much less foundation and buff in REALLY well and build in super thin layers. And keep buffing it, almost to the point where you feel like you've buffed too much.

You really have to buff it in much more aggressively than you do. Also you have to really swirl it in the lid (into your brush) to warm up the powder. I think you’d love it then.

Gail Pennycook agree! Primer and swirl it in the cap. Any tutorial I’ve watched using powder foundation the people that live it use a primer and say really BUFF it in aggressively.
Also a Tinkle razor would help, Cassie. All your makeup will apply and look better and your skincare will work more effectively. It’s worth it.

She really shouldn't buff it in aggressively because it will irritate her skin, especially with her blemishes at the moment. It's actually total crap that bare minerals tries to market itself to people with sensitive and mature skin when the only way to have it not look terrible is to use a technique that will absolutely exacerbate the conditions associated with those skin types (rosacea, dry patches, acne, etc.).

It may not be your deal. I used bareMinerals exclusively when I lived in MN. I had very pimply and volcano zits and their prime time and original powder. I sweat like a construction worker. I tap a very tiny amount into the cap, then swirl the powder into the brush for a long time. I build two or three layers, but buff and swirl for a very long time. if I don’t, cake city. I use Mineral Veil, which is my miracle that I can use to set it, and deal with shiny sweaty moments. Using a setting spray might help remove the transfer notice. I am so sorry it sucked for you. If you are interested, Shelby Wilson used to work for the company and her TH-cam channel has dozens of powder foundation tips. I would love to know what mascara you use, or how you pick them. They always smudge and clump. Boo! I need help!

Not trying to be mean, but you are missing out when it comes to shaving your face with a facial razor. I started doing it a year ago and I haven’t regretted it once! If you are worried about hair coming in thicker, it won’t. You will be the only one that notices that it is coming back based on feel. It takes a minute to do, so it isn’t like it is a lot of extra time. Plus, it makes your makeup gone on so much differently, in your favor. Lastly, it helps gently remove dry skin. I would pay good money to watch you shave your face with a facial razor... just saying.....

The big thing with any bare minerals foundations is that you HAVE to use their primer and their mineral veil. If you don’t set the foundation with their veil powder (which I know seems weird to set a powder with more powder), then you’re going to notice a lot more oil breakthrough. The veil is meant to blur pores and lock in the foundation, since the foundation turns to a cream when you’re blending it in with the brush. I personally like this foundation, along with their pressed foundation, but it’s definitely up the buyer to decide if the extra steps are worth it. I personally buy the extras on amazon for a very discounted price lol

It’s definitely one of those foundations that has a learning curve!! Definitely one you gotta go in with a kabuki brush(I use a 6 dollar Elf one) and you swirl it in the lid after you’ve tapped some out for at least 45 seconds to a minute, and then go in with circular motions on your face and just buff the crap out of it!!! It becomes creamy then and will look flawless!!! It definitely takes a lot of buffing lol. I think it looks really pretty on you 😍😍😍

Hi Cassie, I would urge you to retry this foundation again but this time using the Bareminerals foundation brush and the swirl, tap buff technique. I do use this, it is one of only 2 foundation brandsI will use as generally I favour tinted moisturisers. The shades are very forgiving when buffed correctly into skin, I have to admit you scared me with the amount of product you used lol a little goes a very long way and when buffed in, because it is minerals and not powder, it melds with your natural oils and gives a beautiful light weight coverage. I am kicking the ass off 50 and my skin looks flawless when using this, I also love their bronzer. Please give it another go, if you can see my profile pic this is the foundation and bronzer I am wearing in this pic x love your content, keeping doing what you're doing x big hugs ❤❤🤘🤘x

HOPE YOU SEE THIS!!! :) Howdy Cassie! :) Hope you're doing well! I think the 1st shade looks GREAT on you!!!! Very pretty and smooth finish!! It's very true when others say, you need very little. At least start with a little and work your way up. I used bare minerals powder foundations when it first came out and I hated it!, UNTIL, I played with it and figured it out... The second shade was also good. You mentioned your mustache being more noticeable with the second shade and the crazy thing I noticed was that I couldn't not see your mustache with the first "darker shade" ( that looked great BTW!) but noticed it MORE with the lighter shade! Totally respect your decision to not shave it or get rid of it. However, you can always BLEACH it! That's an option too....The bleaching kits are easy to use and are semi permanent. I am quite tan and my mustache is dark, and bleaching it has always worked without having to shave it! The hairs become invisible! I love your vids, keep'em coming!! You're awesome! I hope you have a great week! :>

@@justme-on7bn that's a total myth/bullshit... if you shave your mustache or any body hair it FEELS thicker because your hair is being cut at a rough/blunt angle instead of the thin-to-full taper of a natural hair. Think about it, when guys shave their head, does it grow back fuller or thicker? Nope. Shaving won't give you more hairs either because shaving doesn't give you more hair follicles (which is what you need to produce MORE hair) . Science/human biology simple doesn't work like that. Try threading if you want your hairs to grow back without that blunt cut that makes it feel fuller and thicker.

First, it ALWAYS works best with their primer, which is very popular even to those not wearing mineral powder foundation. Secondly, let it set on your face and mix with your oils, then blot and add their finishing powder. Spray a setting spray and the transfer is fixed.
Sometimes it might be a good idea to research how others make it work. I add the foundation to my moisturizer after using their primer and it last all day and no transfer when I use the finishing power I my t zone and setting spray. In fact, it looks better as the day goes by.
Maybe watch some other videos on how others have gotten good results. Your primer is not going to work well with this type of foundation. I wear this makeup hiking in the Summer in very humid Florida and it stays put. Even when put over sunscreen. Try their primer, it's AMAZING even with your other foundations.

  • @BluKittenExtensions
    @BluKittenExtensions 5 ปีที่แล้ว +11

I recommend trying it with the Bare Minerals kabuki brush! The one you used is a bit too dense, in my opinion. You also need to have very moisturized skin before applying. Also, try the bare minerals primer! It's meant specifically to go under their powder foundations, but it also works great under other foundations, liquid included. As for the shade range, I've always had to mix two shades together, fair and fairly light. To remedy the transfer situation, I suggest trying the mineral veil to set everything.

Hey, gorgeous...we have similar skin (at least, when I was the same age as you...I'm more combo now, but humid climate...not too different.) I also have skin-attacking issues and some pore/acne fun. For background.
Living in Florida, BareMinerals' original is still my go-to...but it takes help. You do have to do that swirl, tap, blah blah nonsense, and be wary about piling it on at once. It's *thin* layers, just as many as you need. Coloring is tricky AF...mildly darker isn't awful in summer, and the warmth helps to disguise redness (I'm neutral and still wear Light).
Their primer is okay, but my secret assist is a zinc/titanium dioxide sunscreen...when that stuff dries, it minimizes pores and holds the stuff on like whoa. I typically skip primer aside from the sunscreen for that reason with this stuff. Those minerals work with the minerals in the foundation. 🤷🏼‍♀️
Maybe there's something in there you can try to help, even with other mineral foundations. It makes mine manageable and more graceful as it wears, with easy touch-ups. (That mineral veil spf25, tho!)
    Good luck, you look lovely!

I used to exclusively wear Bare Minerals (the original), but branched out a few years ago looking for a change. I always really liked it (you do need to use a light hand and *really* buff) and strangers would stop me to say I had "beautiful skin" which is always better than "I love your makeup", lol. But this one did intrigue me 💜 (their shades seemed to be a lot better and more accurate for the original tho, I wore fair to fairly-light in that one). Also, their mineral veil really helped cut down on the oil slick that occurs for us oily skinned gals, I always found that using a primer was a bad idea, and believe it or not, weirdly their brush worked so much better than any other I'd tried

  • @JoniWagner

To be fair, wrong brush, wrong technique. I'm sure the women at Sephora would have helped you with that. The first (and last days without primer) day you looked AWESOME at the end of the day, after you used your blotting sheets, your skin was even-toned (albeit the wrong shade) and lovely. BTW, I've used BE - Bare Escentuals - Bare Minerals for many years and never had issues with it transferring. I've LOVED this makeup! I hope you'll give it another shot. It's so harmless, you can SLEEP in it, it's actually good for your skin. *Edited to add, I've read below people encouraging you to buff it in aggressively, I've never done that either, the brushes are soft, and if you buff gently, yet thoroughly, it will perform well. No need at all to chew your face off with it, I promise!

Hey my love (sorry if you have answered this in another video or live video and I just missed it) what type of skincare do you use? It's VERY normal for some people to be more oily than others, but usually if there is a REALLY excessive amount of oil something is usually going on there. It usually means that your skin is actually VERY dehydrated. Its always a vicious cycle with oily skin and hair because people think that because their skin is oily, they need to stop using oils and heavy moisturizers on their skin which in turn makes their skin even more oily. Another comparison is oily hair. My husband gets VERY oily hair. He will wash his hair in the morning and by that evening it looks like it has not been washed in over a week, he also was getting dandruff with it and so he asked me how that was possible. I explained that it is because the skin on his scalp is actually dehydrated and the more he washes his hair the more he is stripping the oils he actually needs. I told him to start training his scalp to getting used to not be washed as often. He started off only washing his hair every other day and then every 3rd day. Then I also had him incorporate a moisturizing all natural shampoo without sulfates. Sure enough, by the second week his scalp was a thousand times better. It will get worse for a few days as your skin is confused and over produces oil, but eventually it will even out. Sorry if you have already tried this, but I just thought I would mention it ;-). You will still more than likely be oily as that is just the nature of your skin, but I bet if you slowly incorporate the proper moisture through oils (yes, the dreaded oils) and proper moisturizers that it will DEF get better and not be so severe ;-).

@Christina Williams oh I didnt know she had addressed it before. It wont make it grow back darker though it just cuts hairs at the shaft that have already kind of tapered due to contact with external factors. I have PCOS and so my facial hair is a big problem and making sure I shave it off has helped so much with how my makeup applies and has really boosted my self-confidence.

Christina Williams just wanted to let you know this is a total myth! Shaving does not & cannot cause your hair to grow back darker or thicker. It is scientifically proven that this is incorrect. I thought this too for a long time but I learned in nursing school there is no way for this to happen! ❤️❤️

Aye girl! BM veteran here, try using their own powder foundation brush. The tarte powder brush stinks compared to the BM brush. Also try using the mineral veil for the oil. Use the BM primer!! If you don't like the color, try the matte version (more shades and it’s kinda similar). The foundation looks amazing on you though. Remember less is more.

I wanted to add.. Idk if you're still using Curology. But I think your skin is looking better. It took me about 3 months to adjust (peeling, redness, dryness). I put aquaphor on my really bad spots of dry patches at night (as a last step). It heals pimple scabbing very quickly. I would apply the usual pea sized amount (of Tretinoin) all over. And dab a tiny amount on my acne. Then put on the cerave night cream (heavy duty emollient cream) and put a thick layer of aquaphor over any open areas. It really does work. I just wanted to say I do see some improvement! But you're such a pretty girl. ❤👋

Ok, I’ve been watching Cassie on and off and back on for a couple years..and I would THINK, she’s nowhere near this clueless on shade matches and applications and the infamous primer that seems to NOT work for her. Aaand, much more. I’m sorry to say, but I think this is done on purpose to gain interaction to get more monetary gain for her videos. I’ve seen many videos how money is REALLY made and a video with 30,000 can get more pay day than a video with 100,000 views ..because of the videos interaction. I hate assuming but, common..how many videos and comments and subscribers later and she’s still not getting it? It’s whatever, honestly a lot of TH-cam is s hustle, but seeing all the caring comments go ignored over and over..it’s sad.

I have the Blemish Rescue and I’ve found it difficult to buff in. I don’t think it works like the original. What I have found is that it gets more beautiful as it wears on my face. So I apply it like a powder, use setting spray, and an hour later it’s very pretty on. But not right away. Also I don’t think it has quite the same coverage as you get from the original. I’d almost cal it no coverage except for the way my skin looks as it wears throughout the day.

I actually like this one, and that's because it works with my MINERAL sunscreens. It looks like I used a medium coverage liquid foundation in one pass plus its longwearing. Liquid foundations for oily skin that are long wearing tend to look pretty bad on top of mineral sunscreen. Also mineral sunscreens can be mega mattifying, so you get oil control that way. I pair it with a medium to full coverage concealer that is longwearing underneath over scars and under the eyes, set all of that with a light layer of translucent powder (Loreal pro sweep and lock), and then I put a light layer of this powder foundation on top with a large, tapered, soft brush (the large powder brush from the Powder Bleu line from real techniques. I think its B01).
When I go to work I switch to a chemical sunscreen and long wearing liquid foundation, but when Im not working I use mineral sunscreen with a powder foundation, and this one has crazy coverage and looks nice. Is it perfection? No. But its pretty good! And it doesn't break me out. I will probably repurchase actually.

Did you set it? It’s a cream foundation! Just because it’s powder in original form it doesn’t end up that way on contact. You need to set it 100% would you not powder any other foundation? This is a damn good foundation. Try their mineral veil. Lol you have to buff it in. They are minerals. The original foundation has a large range. This is a limited range and not easy to find. I would not judge their loose minerals based on this product. Research their product line first before making a final decision expecially on a brand that has been around a very long time

It’s still a nice foundation though, like it looks good on your skin, just doesn’t last very long. But, bare minerals used to have a pressed powder foundation called Ready and it was the BEST I’ve ever used. It worked better without a primer, or perhaps you'd be willing to try the Bare Minerals primer? My problem with Bare Minerals was the oiliness as well. Using the mineral veil power to set the foundation “minerals” does help. But the amount of oils thru the day was just way to much for me. I do love the coverage as far as hiding my imperfections. But the benefit does not outweigh the bad. I actually watched this to see if the formula would have improved in the last 10ish years. I used this back when it was still an infomercial product.
