My favorite thing about this process is that you said your artist asked for feedback, “If you could change one thing what would it be?” I love that she found a way to make sure you were satisfied with her work and also that she could continue growing with one question.
I liked that part too. Just as with any skill you're going to be learning throughout your career. At least you should be. I know some people don't but the fact that she asked the question tells me she's still willing...
Agreed! Only 1 large blending brush for eye shadow?! I have small eyes so I use small brushes. Like I’m fancy & think i need 5 different eye brushes to put on make up for a target run. 😂
I said this on your MAC video but I really appreciate you being so kind and understanding! So many of these kinds of videos make me so uncomfortable but yours are so refreshing! ❤🌯❤🌯❤🌯❤
I agree! I do want to see the experience. I don't want to see some poor employee raked over the coals. Generally, if they consent to you filming them, they're trying to do their best and make a good impression.
I love how Taylor is very respectful and kind to the artists, while at the same time giving her own opinions and even critiques. It makes these videos really enjoyable.
I think it would be fun to see a Merle Norman makeover :-) My very first makeup was from when my grandma took me to the Merle Norman store. I remember exactly what I got too! Single eyeshadow in Fawn (never have found a dupe for that gorgeous color), a gold eyeshadow pencil, brown eyeliner, and a blush (which I still have and have also not found a dupe for). Such a great memory, I had such a good time that afternoon!
I also think it's really interesting to see how artists perform when they're limited to one brand of products, like how she only had those eye brushes at her disposal
I think the lack of brushes really hurts the artist. Idk why they dont make more brushes or let them use other brushes! I could not do a full on look w out the right brushes! But I would have stuck to a simpler look knowing that especially since Taylor said she didnt care 😏
I really love her techniques and how she talked through everything with you, I just feel that the eyeshadow should be more blended - but as you said, she was limited for tools especially for blending! She did amazing for what she had available. I love how she did your brows, cheek makeup, lips & the colours she chose overall.
Never ceases to amaze me how different eyeshadow techniques can completely change the shape of your eye! A bit dark for my personal taste but that shape is interesting.
@@megkranerrr She has too much stripper content (literally). Don't need to see her sliding down a pole and talking about her fake tits. Check out Crystal ASMR. She is amazing and has all kinds of different types of ASMR series on her channel. Classy and talented. Plus has a much softer and more soothing voice.
I think I realized this is my ASMR too! I didn't get it until I started watching people getting their hair/makeup done that this is my thing. I want to go to a salon so badly now!
Oof no go, most of their artists are older women who are set in their ways still using older techniques. I had mine done at a Clinique counter only because my boyfriends grandma wanted to go to buy makeup and have hers done and the woman asked to do mine. She did a beat alright, not the good kind 😂
The day I felt most beautiful in my entire life was the day I got my makeup done at bare minerals. I suggest everyone should at least give it a try especially if you have a less than perfect skin texture
I love this look on you. That makeup artist did a great job. I love the eye look. Plus that highlight ❤️❤️❤️ I have never gotten my makeup professionally done. I need to check it out. Thanks for this series
Hi! Up until this last Sunday I worked as an MUA and manager at a BareMinerals boutique, my store unfortunately closed but otherwise I probably would’ve stayed with the brand for a while! If there’s one thing I really pride us on is how much we care about our clients. I know I always put so much into making sure you love what you’re getting, making sure it fits you and your skin. Our biggest focus unfortunately wasn’t really artistry but more skin care and base! That being said, our goal was always to make you feel beautiful in your skin rather than hiding behind anything. Enhancing YOUR beauty, not promoting the idea that you need to create it. It makes me happy to see this video 💓
I agree with you about the darkness farther out on your eyes. I will also admit, I was hoping she would use the original Bare Minerals mineral foundation. 🌯
Ok so comparing this to the MAC video: 1. I love that highlight! 2. Bare Minerals did a better job with the base, including shade matching. I personally think the base looks very natural and nice. 3. I can't tell but in this lighting, the contour/bronzer/blush doesn't look like it was placed evenly? 4. I think the eyeshadow looks almost as bad as the MAC video. I don't think the black shade used on the edges complements the shade she used on the lid. The shade on the lid looks so soft and pretty. A warm or neutral medium brown would have complemented it well rather than black. It just looks so harsh.
Ive never been disappointed in a bare minerals product! From the Moxie lipstick, to their powder foundation (the 1st foundation I used to wear). They have some gorgeous pigment eye shadows i need to try.
Taylor, you’re so kind and genuine. Such an honest review. You’re a true beauty. I didn’t have internet for almost 2 months so now I’m binging and loving every minute 😉
I used to love the original loose powder foundation and veil when I was in my early-mid 20's, but now in my mid 30's, I haven't been able to wear any powder-only foundations, including this one. It looks absolutely horrible on me now, and it actually breaks me out really bad now for some reason when it never did before. I don't have much luck with their face products or eyeshadows except for that Complexion Rescue she used on you first. That thing is awesome! I use it completely alone because I prefer light coverage, but it's still pigmented enough to even out my skin tone. I set it with Lunatick Cosmetics Lab pressed powder (LOVE that stuff) and I get an almost flawless finish. Those 2 products work so well together...and best of all, it not only doesn't break me out, but seems to actually help my skin (which is usually unheard of with me and any sort of liquid foundations/tints). My one and only issue with it is that I wish it came in at least a shade lighter. The lightest one is still slightly too dark for me, which sucks. 😕 Other than that, though, I love that stuff. As for your look, it wasn't bad. I bring out my shadow pretty far out like she did with yours because I like a really smoked out look anyway, but it also makes my small eyes look way bigger. So I personally liked it, I just think it could have used a bit more blending/defusing at the end. Other than the base, the rest looked good, though! I know you don't like lighter coverage, but if you want to try anything else again from them for a base, go with the Completion Rescue alone and use a sponge to apply it (I never liked brushes). You can set it with a setting powder, not a foundation powder, and maybe you'll like that.
I loved how she did your mascara and eyeliner. So professional! I would love to see you do another one of these but at a NYX counter. I just feel like a lot of the people who work there have very over the top make up (at least the one close to me) and it would be interesting to see how they would handle doing your make up since you always make the artist decide what kind of look to go for. I’m imagining seeing you with a neon purple eye with a glittery lip and some douchrome highlight
I too love that you go out and have other people do your make up. I also like that you don't throw these make up artists under the bus with snotty comments. You are very fair and kind.
I love how youre so open to new methods and others teaching you about a product - some people think that theyre always doing things the right way and theres no alternative method to make something work 😊
I just like Bare minerals in general. As a brand, it may be my favorite mid-range/ high end brand out there. But I also have very very rare occasions to get “MAC intense”, lol. I love the complexion rescue product, but I apply it with fingers for better coverage.
This is the best “makeup store makeover” video I’ve ever seen. She did well!!! Your eyeshadow looks so good like this. Love the highlighter and lips. Your base is better with products that aren’t bare minerals lol
Taylor, you are beautiful with or without the makeup ♥️. I appreciate your accutane diaries...I’m almost 41 and keep thinking I should go for it. You’re awesome. Don’t ever change!
I'll add that I appreciate the fact that you don't offend the makeup artist I like that you give them the benefit of the doubt & let's be real the lighting in these places usually always suck lol I love that your attitude towards these girls is "if they're wrong educate don't belittle" I admire that ❤
I love this series of you going to a specific make up store or counter and getting your make up done! They’re fun and it’s really cool too see how other artists use that brands product
I love your look. I feel that the make up looks really natural and just right. I've used Bare minerals for over a decade and my skin is great! Love the look.
Girlll I wish I could do your makeup! I’m a previous Mac freelancer and I have my own lil studio now... Seriously love this series tho and you have such pretty eyes ! But I’m a weirdo and just wanna do everyone’s makeup 😂
I’ve never had a better makeover experience than the one I got at BareMinerals. They’re free. There’s no time limit, and my consultant and I were practically best friends when I left. Now THAT is a great company. 👏👏👏
Same here! My grandma took me because they were the highest end makeup in our town and it was just a few blocks from her house. I had so much fun picking out the fancy makeup she treated me to. She wanted to be sure I got good stuff for my first makeup :-)
Random but my first "makeover" that my parents got for me as a birthday gift to kind of teach me about makeup basics was at Clinique. I wonder if other people had similar experiences? Also I haven't worn anything from Clinique in years so I'm curious!
My first one was Clinique too. My mom took me when I was 12 or 13 and I remember getting a blush,a powder and a lipstick in Crystal Mauve. 30 years ago!

I just saw a video of before and after for teen acne, maybe that'll help you.. it was too take loads of vit b6. They bought NOW brand, took two pills with each meal for 3 weeks, it was incredible change
The artist did a great job. I think you’re right about it being the products and how they worked for you that had a couple of negatives. I still love bare minerals bcuz it’s the only foundation that consistently has not broken out my skin. Anything else is just a matter of time and hit or miss
I feel like the overall color selections were nice together and harmonious for the whole look. Definitely feel like the eyes need more refinement. Not too bad overall. ❤️🌯
Her technique was great I couldn’t imagine trying to do a full eye look with only 2-3 brushes. And absolutely agree with you on the MUA having an additional talent because you looked more comfortable and relaxed through the video YAY for conversationalist MUAs
I love these videos! I think it’s especially interesting to see the makeup artists’ interpretations when they have to work within just one brand. I would love to see more at brand specific counters and stores (ex: Urban Decay counter, NYX store, Benefit counter, etc.) At Sephora and Ulta, the artist can choose from such a large variety of products; it’s more of a challenge when they are limited to the tools and products offered within the singular brand.
When I saw her go in with the foundation, I knew instantly it wasn't a match. I liked seeing her take on eyeshadow. I give her credit for doing the look with minimal brushes. She did very nice work overall. Doing makeup without the best tools and lighting is challenging and she did very well.
I love that you are doing these videos! I feel like other people who do videos like this go into it very negatively, like they are already prepared for the makeup artist to do a bad job. I like the way you kind of look at it from both sides. 🖤🖤
I use the complexion rescue and love it. Surprised she didn’t use the mineral veil at the end. Love that stuff too even though it’s a little sparkly. Super dry skin as well, and I don’t like full coverage, so that works for me.
@@taylorwynn they went to justice of peace a year ago and got married. They just had their big wedding a few weeks ago. Yes that is Hailey Baldwin Beiber.
I appreciate that you clarify you got permission to film and film the MUA at the start. I used to be part of the Bare Escentuals/Bare Minerals street team before they got bought out. I still have a ton of their stuff but, for some reason, after they got bought out, my skin hated the newer stuff.
My favorite thing about this process is that you said your artist asked for feedback, “If you could change one thing what would it be?” I love that she found a way to make sure you were satisfied with her work and also that she could continue growing with one question.

I think given the tools she had she did a great job. It’s hard when you don’t have great brushes for blending shadow.
And bad lighting!
That confused me because when I worked at bareMinerals we had tons of brushes available to us, and they were all pretty good quality...
Strange, BE has great brushes
She did a good job with the tools that was available to her.
Sarah Franklin I agree. I think that having only one big fluffy blending brush made it harder for her
And how in the heck do makeup stores get away with have crappy lighting?!? Like how are your employees supposed to do a good job?
Sarah Franklin the eye shadow is off !

I can't get enough of this! I already watched all the stores you've tried! Hope you make it a staple series.
Hope you try the luxury brands as well!
I don’t understand why they go so heavy handed with the transition shade? You look great...but a definite no on the eyes!!
Absolutely loving the look she created on you. Your eye color just pops. Love the lip colors as well. She did a great job❣💗
I love how everyone in the comments is criticizing your eye makeup and I'm just sitting here like....that's my eye look on a good day. 😂😂😂😂
You look gorgeous she did a great job. I kind of liked how she dragged the corner of the shadow out a bit 😍💕😍😍
The makeup artist did the best she could with the products available to her. Overall, job well done.
Way better! 👍 Her techniques when it came to the liner & mascara was great, she made it seem so easy.
I think she did a really great job! I’d be happy for her to do my makeup.
I love that you are doing these videos! I feel like other people who do videos like this go into it very negatively, like they are already prepared for the makeup artist to do a bad job. I like the way you kind of look at it from both sides. 🖤🖤
“Look at those cars” 😂😂
I use the complexion rescue and love it. Surprised she didn’t use the mineral veil at the end. Love that stuff too even though it’s a little sparkly. Super dry skin as well, and I don’t like full coverage, so that works for me.
I think that blonde chick in the background who’s staring into your soul is Hailey Baldwin aka Justin Bieber’s wife
Didn’t even know Justin Bieber was married lmao
@@taylorwynn they went to justice of peace a year ago and got married. They just had their big wedding a few weeks ago. Yes that is Hailey Baldwin Beiber.
Taylor Wynn wow u r out of the loop-lol. I even knew that and I’m really really old❤️ but that is a good thing!!!!
They got married in my town!! My whole university was trying to figure out where they were 😂😂
I appreciate that you clarify you got permission to film and film the MUA at the start. I used to be part of the Bare Escentuals/Bare Minerals street team before they got bought out. I still have a ton of their stuff but, for some reason, after they got bought out, my skin hated the newer stuff.
