Cheers mate. Been over 12000 km and I still feel that it was a far better choice than a used Fortuner. My only complaints are: 1. No 360 camera - really helps during off road situations but the front camera is good enough for most situations 2. Should have had a 200 hp / 500 nm tune (or at least the 185/450 from the XUV700)
10 months into Scorpio ownership and the vehicle has performed faultlessly Capped price servicing, ten year warranty 7 litres per 100km, comfortable cruiser and still rarer than a vegan at a Hoggies 😂
It's a amazing car for fun and mainly reliability and low repair cost a fortune less than any other vehicle. I have a Mahindra and the maintenance and repair cost of my 9 year old pickup in last one year was 10,000rupee or 119US dollars including servicing and repairs costs 😂 . And mind you always run on minimum 3ton load maximum 4ton+ 😂 no problem best engines no doubt about that and a car which will last a decade.
I was impressed with this vehicle when I saw it at a Sydney dealership, it reminded me of a Captiva for some reason (the center stack is pure GM stoge) . then I took it for a test drive ... Yeah pass. it was vibrating, felt grumpy in the steering, ride was ok since the rear end is a Watts Link Coil Spring live axle. Is it worth it? sure, but there are way better options in this price range, the Rexton for example.
One major downfall of this vehicle's 4WH setting is that you must always be looking at the change in road surface whilst going off-road as hard patches will then potentially damage the vehicles driveline...having the need to continually stop and switch back in 2WH whilst exploring those back roads is a definite deal breaker for me.
No need to stop. It's similar to other four-wheel drive systems, like in the MU-X and most dual-cab utes. Mahindra website says: "Electromechanical Driveline Disconnect allows you to shift between 2WD and 4WD High on the Fly up to 80km/hr. The 4×4 transfer case also includes low range (which must be shift while stationary and in neutral)." I agree though, the best systems are like what Ford and Mitsubishi offer, with part-time 4WD or '4A' modes etc. So you can keep exploring on and off tarmac without shifting modes.
I suspect it's the same drive train in Mahindra dual cab 4x4 ute but that's a good thing as in rural part NZ these are used as work horse's nad get flogged mercifully with little or bigger all servicing can't kill them dare I say they have Toyota LC70 reliability
AFAIK, the Classic Scorpio and its derivatives like the Dual Cab Ute have the older generation drivetrain whereas the Scorpio N has a completely new drivetrain.
At 3rd row seats you mentioned there is no charger .. but there is a 12v cigarette litter port on the left where you can put a charging adapter.. I have a fridge connected there and it sits between the two pilot seats in 2nd row...
What are the chances of me buying a Mahindra Scorpio-N 2023 Z8 with a defective steering rack, taking it back to the service center 16 times, replacing it with a 2024 Z8L, and finding out it also has a defective steering rack? Well in my case 100%
Funny design of the fog lightz ... think you missed the memo which was the insperation for scorpioN ( 🦂) the tail and the sting of the tail is reflected in fogligjtz and beltline crome. :)) Also, pininferina is owned by Mahindra !!
Don't buy this car there are known issues with steering racks and suspension, my Scorpio-n has had a problem from day one 5 months later no solution in sight.

It's not Pininfarina influenced... Pininfarina is Mahindra now. Mahindra bought 68% in Pininfarina few years back
Thanks. But why can’t it be Pininfarina influenced? Surely some of the company’s original Italian genes inspired the design?
@@drivingenthusiastaustraliaagree. Maybe the design got a wee bit cheaper being a majority shake holder 😅. "Cheaper" as in with 68% stake cost

ScorpioN is the one of the best selling SUV in India.
A very affordable people mover with 4X4 credentials also reliable
You don't need class leading power as long as Scorpio can get the job done
Its Indian LC , great reliability. Mahindra is rising❤
I just wish that we had the same 185 hp / 450 nm tune as the XUV
The vent next to the fog lights is a side curtain to improve aerodynamics. Not an intake
