Very honest review compared to the others I’ve seen. Considering the mid spec after watching this.
super thorough walkaround and review! great work
Thanks mate.
Good review. Cheers.
Thanks 👍
I saw one in person in Bondi Junction. I actually really like the looks.
Saw one in the flesh yesterday, absolutely stunning! Hyundai have really outdone themselves with the design. Wonder how expensive the panels would be the replace in the event of an accident
So many of these and other cars available I don’t think prices will hold and would expect some serious specials to come through.
Thanks for the review. I would be interested in seeing how the 2.5 turbo goes when it arrives
Thanks. Will test asap 👍
The front wheel drive will have more tyre slip when loaded at the back by lifting the front up
The pricing on these things are getting wild. if the chinese cars turn out to be reliable, the incumbents are in big trouble.
4.8 metresof legroom? Impressive! And nearly 2 metres of headroom in the second row! Amazing🤣
😅
The interior looks pretty nice. Really don't like the flat glass HVAC controls. Give me something to physically press any day. Unbelievable value compared to some of its competitors.
Spare wheel position doesn’t bother me. I’ve got one on order and don’t plan taking it anywhere near a proper dirt track that could risk damage to it - have a Ranger for that! Much prefer having the full size spare over a space saver. Great review
Saw the Hyundai list prices, it getting up there.
Regarding the spare tire, It would've been interesting if considering the unique and boxy design if they mounted the spare tire on the tailgate like the outgoing Landcruiser Prado, even just as a no cost option
I like Manufacturer listing price
That base spec looks the business
Agree. Decent value too.
For sure, prefer the alloys and still good kit like the screens. Great review enjoy your vids
Is the XRT coming? And does it have the pseudo-center lock that the previous models had?
No sign of XRT coming. And no more 'centre lock' - only Snow, Mud, Sand off-road modes.
@@drivingenthusiastaustralia Ok, thanks. So it's just a glorified bus then.
@@klausschroiff4405 😅Pretty much.
But a good family bus. I reckon base model is the pick.
My sil just got my daughter one picking it up today after they go get the cashier's check from the bank but out the door fully loaded paying Cash uts $50,000 but beautiful SUV seats 7 they got they dark army green she's so excited
Is it possible to permanently turn off the speed limit and driver attention warnings? Thanks
No. They automatically switch back on after every start-up. This is part of Australian rules to achieve 5-star ANCAP safety.
You wouldn’t use it as a 4x4 too low, but is nice big station wagon that’s for sure.
It's one of the best-looking cars for sale right now. Powertrain seems a bit anaemic though.
Go for the 2.5 turbo
I believe they are having problems with the transmission failing. Since the change to CVT there have been issues. I have the older model with 2.2 turbo diesel, which has been so good performance, economy and reliability wise, shame its gone.
This uses a 6spd auto.
These are the type of comments that see one video headline on TH-cam saying 'Our transmission died on our new Santa Fe' and don't read further into it, but jump to conclusions
Thanks for a great review that’s more thoughtful and thorough than others. I have the tough choice of deciding between a Sante Fe (hybrid or 2.5 petrol), Sorento and ideally the next gen Kodiaq. The current Kodiaq is so much fun to drive plus has plenty of space and creature comforts.
It looks like you’re in a discovery driving down the road in the drivers seat.
I wish Hyundai made these with some real power /performance just like your X3 with the B57.. I'd buy one if they did..
Yeah that would be great. Hyundai-Genesis just got rid of a nice inline-6 diesel - perfect for this.
@@drivingenthusiastaustralia I drive a WN Caprice V and have had cars with good power most of my life and I just couldn't drive a car that didn't have effortless power.. I don't drive hard, open it up every now and then, but I'd rather have it and not need it than the other way around plus power is a luxury and adds to the experience for sure..
At least it has a full size spare, so its ok 👍
For the wheel base length, the vehical has very low ground clearance.
offical 0-100 is 9.5sec
I like it tbh, but I'm with you on the diesel. I think a lot of people would have preferred that. Unless I'm wrong the diesel had longer service intervals too.
Also not sure of the wisdom of matte paint on what, in many cases, will be a family hack that won't be coddled much. Can imagine it would suffer after a few years of bird shit and baked on grime in a way that gloss paint might not.
And I wouldn't take that seriously off road anyway so I'd rather have a full size spare even if it was hanging a bit low (tho it's hard to tell the extent of the problem on video).
Will be interested what the V6 goes like.
There is no V6.
I’m a fan of diesel as well, but the diesel engine is not good for city driving. Australian cities are getting much more congested, meaning the suitability of diesel engines are getting much smaller now and in the future.
@@user-vk4vd7vr5t My bad sorry, I meant the 2.5
@@acde9355 great choice for regional customers tho, and hybrid isn't very effective out here
@@mahcooharper9577 how is a hybrid not effective?
Land Rover discovery exterior, and Ranger Rover interior. From 2010. Not just Chinese copy design.
You are a Toyota dealer. What happened to the case where Toyota and Honda deceived consumers by manipulating quality test data for 35 years?
Santa what?
Hyundai Kia are light years ahead of BMW BENZ and AUDI
Watched this and got hit with LandRover Defender commercial three minutes in? TH-cam logarithm doesn’t miss much.
FORD FLEX!!!..😂
Tail lights remind me of the Suzuki Swift Cino
I miss the times when the cockpit was only visible to the driver and no backseat muppets can tell what speed you're doing
Ford XB.
Ford XB
MK4 Supra, or literally any coupe
In Europa o sa avem un gunoi de 1,6 hybrid.Nu mai poti trage cu el nimic e o masina de rahat.
God it's hideous......and I like Hyundais...!
