    That pub use to be called The a Forest Hotel, we used to stay there back in the 70s.

      I was going to mention that too. I was working at the Manor Hotel down the Petit Bot road as it was called then in1972 and 1974 and that was our local. Many happy memories from there.

    I was there in 17 on your Liberation Day? Marking the end of the war for Guernsey.
    That was not the way I went to the airport, did it from the other end of the esplanade up past the German Fuel tanks.
    There 3 days and circumnavigated the island in about 4 hours. Very nice place to visit, arrived by boat from St Malo and left by air

    It's a great video, so happy to see the beautiful place. I lived in Guernsey for few months during 2013 in St Peter's Port. I'm planning to visit again next month.

    Driven that route on many occasions in the past. When ever I come to Guernsey I normally stay at the Saints Bay Hotel.

    Very enjoyable thanks Ross. I don't think you drove along Fort Road ? [reading another comment I think there was a diversion] My Aunt & Uncle lived there from the 60s onwards. I remember visiting as a kid in the 70s.

    Born and bred in Guernsey but left in '66 to NZ. We have been back 4 times and had a hire car waiting at the airport and then did that drive into town. At the Ville au Roi roundabout we would go straight to King's Rd where we stayed with relations. Love your videos - thank you.

    Beautiful little island. Last there late 90's! Will come back again. Last time I was there, it was the time of a full sun eclipse and I was on the way back to the airport in the afternoon and it went night time dark for a couple of minutes. Very strange but I remember where I was- Forest Rd. When I first came to the Island I was shocked how narrow the roads were and took a deep breath when passing cars and near the walls! LOL.

    The drive from the airport, brings back memories, I was born in Guernsey many years ago, & now live in Sydney, Australia, which at the moment is in lockdown, & will be till the end of August at least, also you drove past, Av Vivier, the Ville au Roi, which we lived for many years & also I watched your video of Cobo which you showed going towards Vason, we also lived there many years it was just out of vision, lovely on a day like you filmed but not so nice when a gale is blowing

    Yes driven that many times, I remember I had a bad crash at the Villa Roi roundabout wrote my new car off, had to tow it in to Ruette Braye motors which is now the carpet shop on the left, came out of it unmarked though, cracking video thanks, it's thirty years ago but seeing that, it's like was there yesterday😅

    Excellent video - highly informative - but in a light, chatty way. Could I suggest you expand what you mentioned at the end regarding eating places? A series of where families could dine on the island would be of great help.

    Hiya 👋🏻 absolutely love your videos - been wanting to move to Guernsey for years. I’m a designer and just need to find a company there that is hiring! Just a question/favour…. We watch your videos on our smart television and it is SO calming, however the intro song is quite the opposite and quite loud and sharp - when the next video uploads, it gives us all (and our cat haha) such a fright when it screeches through the house. It would be so lovely to continue the chilled vibes of your videos and your calming voice without the intro being so alarming. Totally understand though if you prefer to keep the club music as is. :)

    • @livinginguernsey
      @livinginguernsey  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Ryan, I’m glad you are enjoying the videos. Yes you have a good point regarding the intro music, thanks for mentioning it. I will see what I can do. Thanks

    Thank you for the clip. I'm going to visit Guernsey in the middle of August. Just wondering how much would a taxi cost from Guernsey airport to a hotel in St. Peter Port? Alternatively, is there any bus that runs between the airport and St.Peter Port? Thank you for the video clip. The island looks really beautiful.

    • @livinginguernsey
      @livinginguernsey  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi, there are taxis and buses available from guernsey airport to St. Peter port. A taxi from the airport to St. Peter port would probably cost around £15 to £20.
      Thanks
      Ross
