That's not even Whiterun anymore, that's Whitesprint.
Yeah, I've never liked the trees in Whiterun.
It looks like we are still in Cyrodill lol
Why do modders insist on putting so many trees and vegetation in Whiterun is something I really have a hard time to understand...
It really changes the whole atmosphere of the city and the original vision from the Devs.
I totally agree with you.
@LibanoYout exactly, I don't. 😅
I understand mods give an alternative vision most of the times, but when they completely change the looks of something they become nonsense to me.
No matter how high-resolution and good the new assets look.
If you want mods that improve the graphics but stay close to the OG art style, you're going to have a hard time. Most of mods are modders point of view, most graphic mods changes look and design of textures, locations, lighting or color palette. The only mods I know of that improve but remain almost 100% OG are the HD Reworked project for The Witcher 3 and MEUITM for Mass Effect and Mass Effect 2. If you compare vanilla textures to mod textures, you'll see that mod textures look exactly the same as vanilla, but they have a much higher quality than vanilla textures.
Mod: Modification: a change made
Why do people who change games…change games?
Makes whiterun look less empty. more alive. at least thats my opinion and i like it
Skyrim the Tree Edition. 😂 I dont understand why modders put soo much trees in the cities and front of the city walls. Its just dont make sense. Like the tree in the middle of the square next to the well. Trees don't work like that. Also, replacing the Tundra around Whiterun with a forest is a big mistake. The point is, when a players gets to Whiterun, they can see all around for miles. They sees the tower where they supposed to slay the dragon, the fortress and the mountains in the distance, etc. and they wants to go somewhere and explore. In Novus players sees nothing but trees everywhere.
Dont download it, why are you in the comments crying for? Lmao
The mod creator is actually adding a tundra option in the next version
he just gave his opinion. nothing wrong with that. respect, but don't share and even if you're completely disagree with that person. you have to check the other comments who talk about the same thing,@@Thepiedpiper-dl8np
@@imharleyquinn I think the OP should be on a page of a mod he likes and not one he doesn't.
@@ynw5887Saying they only know how to add things that are “modern and beautiful” is a dumb take. There are countless mods out there. There are some that are just graphic over hauls that keep the original core gameplay and then there are the mods that completely change the game. These “armatures” made Skyrim look and play better than the “professionals”.
Ralof when Dovahkiin escape from Helgen
Ralof : Can you see that ruin?
Dovahkiin : I aint see shit
This mod should be called TREES! Lots an lots of TREES
"TOO MANY trees"
i see what they did. the trees are their solution to far away rendering. Rather than figure out a way to integrate all new updated backdrop paintings just take them out and block all the amazing views that made skyrim skyrim with trees.
@@matthewdrexler188 But isn't it cool, though? Moving through forests is much better than seeing vast distances, in "my" personal opinion. My game looks like this one, for example, and I've never even touched anything resembling Dyndolod. No need anymore.
@@MauMenzori yea i guess imediate environmental detail is more technically impressive. But the tone of this game had been set for over a decade changing the familiar dimensions of the perceived space the player is in making it feel like somethings missing.
But a newcommer to skyrim wouldn't care and prob would enjoy the contemporary look the environmental changes give.
I as an og player would have loved to see a more detailed solution to matt paintings and an enhanced view of the fields that are next to whiterun. Rather than substituting one rendering technique for another so that it doesnt push the engine too hard or whatever the technical consideration was for removing the distances.
@@matthewdrexler188 I understand your point. See, I'm a 43 year old gamer myself, and still got my 2011 vanilla Skyrim CD stored neatly by my desk. I've been with Bethesda since TES Arena and Fallout 1.
But you gotta remember the engine limitations were different back then. Sure, the DEVs had their vision for the world, though I GUARANTEE they wished technology was better, but could only deliver so much. How to offer a true NATURE SURVIVAL experience when the best computer around was an Intel I3? Richest folk could get their hands on 8 GB of RAM? You gotta think about everybody, and not everybody could afford a NASA computer back then.
Hence, we got few trees here and there... tundras... low quality textures... the whole vanilla package we remember. They could not go beyond that. Computers wouldn't handle the stress.
On the other hand, wait till TES 6 is released. Ooooh yes... Write down my words and pin them on your freezer, Matthew: the next game will deliver a FOREST to us players. Guaranteed. Machines nowadays can finally handle that load.
Anyways, see you in 2030 or whenever Bethesda announce their next title, heheh. :)
Nolvus is prettier but i prefer and love the original most.
Land of Skyrim, 20 years later.
Honestly, it rocks !! lot of trees but also lot of stuffs that makes the environment less naked and more alive.
Good job
It came out in 2011
Don't get me wrong, the textures are a HUGE improvement but I don't understand the complete overhaul of some of the NPCs, the abundance of trees, vegetation, and things look far too 'clean'. It's like the grittiness has been wiped away which makes no sense when considering the medieval aspect of the game. I'd even argue the water looks better in the anniversary edition as opposed to the mod 9:36
When i see mods like this i think people wants to play everything but not Skyrim, if you remove the core aspects of the game, like enemies, landscape aesthetics, npc's etc you basicly turning it to another game. Everyone do what they want with their own lives, games and pc's but for true Elder Scrolls and Skyrim fans this is just a pile of crap.
@@jackson13493no? People play it for the music, the quests, the exploration etc… no forthe ps3 graphics. Wha I agree on is the NPC overhaul being bad.
Oh wow, I expected the water to be a preferential change, some wouldn't like it, others would. No, that's just a straight up downgrade lol.
This is why I said people should mod to their own tastes but if they want packs that’s cool too.
Most modders completely alter the game. I only ran across very few authors from Morrowind or Oblivion for example that do really good upscale textures so it looks like the original without completely changing the soul of the game.
This mod should be called "Skyrim Amazon Forest" 🙂
"ЗАмкнуть морды!"😂😂😂
Обожаю польский😂
Почему я вообще это понимаю)))
Sa m'a donné envie de mettre les voix de mon jeu en polonais!
I know the next version is going to have a lot of optional choices for how you want the wilderness to look like. For example, Whiterun being a tundra again with a lot less trees.
I dont know why people dont love the trees. I actually fell in love with them lol
Because you can't see anything except the trees?
@@SkyrimExplorer Tamriel is medieval. Skyrim specially wasn't colonized completely, so, its just natural we'd want to bring it back to the way it was SUPPOSED to be: expoding flora everywhere. Each to their own, and you may avoid tree mods, but they give the game something which wasn't there originally: the feel of being in a forest. I'm all for it.
@@MauMenzori Skyrim land is mostly tundra, not a rainforest
@@romanshkarlat6044 Sure, you have a point.
In my defense, I believe tundra landscapes are sparse and lack density, thus, I don't mind overhauling the entire landscape to actually convert it into a rainforest. To me, it matches the scenario better.
Agree, love the trees just, vanilla skyrim there's just nothing going on, stale
Love everything except the cartoony characters, not rough enough
Exactly, they look so clean and 14 years old. Why they need to make these characters children?
Even the Advar brushing??
And black
Personally I like seeing different art style mods
no lod? Hard popup around 7:30...
Works with gog version?
Maybe game engine cant handle it.
Many LOD's, doesn't work with gog, steam anniversary edition only.
What's the FPS like? dips to 50?
the only thing I have to complain about Nolvus is the fact they pretty much changed everything about npcs, the intro for example, there's no need to change their faces and even the armors, at the end of the day it looks more like a Skyrim rip-off than a modders remake... everything else is gorgeous I must say, I love the re-styling of cities and buildings, it do look like a remake tbh (except for the npcs)
The whiterun was well planned and makes a lot of sense. It is in a basin with good weather. If anything, Whiterun hold needs MORE farms and homestead. Whiterun is a breadbasket. The Pale, Winterhold, Haafingar, and Eastmarch are too cold to grow anything efficiently. Hjaalmarch is a swamp. The Reach is mountainous with plenty of plateaus but they have to deal with forsworn. That only leaves Falkreath, the Rift, and Whiterun. Whiterun has an advantage because of its location.
When Alduin shows up: I summon Red Eyes Black Dragon in Attack Mode!
It is cool but I feel the abundance of trees defeats the whole open tundra feel. There are other regions that are dense/thick forest. To have a couple of open space land adds variety. But still, this is very cool and pretty indeed.
I installed Nolvus few months ago and it really changes the game, feels like a new game entirely.
Whats your graphic card? Can it run well on 4080s?
@@Gcity67k I have 4080 with 11700k and 32GB RAM. It runs fine, problem with mods like this is, that the game will have unstable FPS. I have 100+ FPS and sometimes 40. It changes quite alot. But usually it runs above 60ish.
You can, however, change the settings during the installation when it goes down choosing a quality you want, I went for 4k quality. If you do 2k or FullHD, you might get better FPS stability.
@@Azhureus thanks thats all what i needed to know
@@Gcity67k No probs, enjoy.
Nolvus is better....but seems to have a dark brown hue going on alot....brightness also too dark, and saturation too high. Can these be adjusted?
Yup
Yeah I use the Rudy ENB and it’s insanely better than the preset. Also cabbage has a nice color as well but in the end it’s just personal preference
Just the clothing makes it better.
It really bugged me how everyone living in a frozen tundra with 3 feet of snow around them are all wearing tank tops and short sleeves.
Also how dirty everyone is.
"The Reach will be heard!"
We Forsworns want to see graphical comparisons of our homeland and specially Markarth in these videos too!
Amazing! I had Nolvus installed back in 2023!
I will make a few improvements (at least SSD) and try again! I've got a RTX 3070, it will do with a few tweakings!
Every time i finish a playthrough with a new set of mods and think "Ok, this is the last Time i went back to it" i find another random Video showing up in my recomended be like "You sure about that?".
Looks fricking AWESOME.
what enb preset are u using?
cabbage ENB preset by the author of NUKT
While very impressive overall, I only saw a couple of things that caught my eye as out of place, which isn't really a detraction from the work, just my personal preference. I'm not a fan of the stark white water slide next to the stairs leading up out of the the market area in Whiterun. And I predominantly prefer conifer trees in snowy areas over deciduous tress. But seriously, outstanding job, looks great! Thanks for sharing, as always.
What ENB are using?
cabbage ENB preset by the author of NUKT
Whiterun was modeled after Rohan, it is a steppe, and this can be seen even from the Horse on the sign (- _ -)
Idk why and what language was that, but it sounded so cool and so right for the enviroment of the game, like it was right they speaking that language, not english
It's Polish, my native language ;)
@@Cycu1 ooh, right, Your language really matched it, it sounds more pointed, I don't know, I think it looks cooler muahaha
Very good but soo much shadow (but on the night is perfect)!
You would have to walk around with a torch in the middle of the day.
And tundra of Whiterun replaced by a forets annoys me, like other artistic choices such as brushing of advard for example.
But real congraculation any case!
its 400gb btw
😆
Sir, is 4070 mobile capable run this mod? Thanks for the answer
I ran it on a 3080, should run on a 4070
@@cassthenerd6023 thank you so much sir 👍
Is this mod on ps5?
Personally I believe it's amazing! I love how many trees they added, the new normal maps, the textures, lights, fire, water...it's so realistic!! I want to play it again!
DAYM
i love how they made the trees realistic and not some hobbitfied version of trees
why so many trees ? whiterun looks like a forest and the cities i dont like those trees either
i love it
While environment looks great (despite having too much trees, NPCs sometimes look out of place. They look too... Clean
ile masz fps w 4k na tej karcie?
40-60
No to przereklamowany jest ten 4080.
Na 3090ti mam podobny klatkarz.
Okay its good but i love to see the sky on the roads to whiterun
Polski ralof piękny głos 😊
I do like the greenish tint on the vanilla version. Everything that changes that ruins the experience to me.
If Nolvus was another game not Skyrim. i will vote for it
turned Skyrim into a large Falkreath region
I like original version more. I also liked the Polish dubbing (I heard it for the first time), I understood everything. Hi, from UA !
Might just be me, but Nolvus looks... best way I can describe it is uncanny?
It feels like it's trying to be a different game, but at the same time is limited by being Skyrim, so it ends up feeling like this mix-mash of stupidly high-res textures, decent lighting, but the same old animations, behaviour and engine limitations.
In short, it looks like one of those Unreal Engine asset flip games.
mod is hella good, but its almost impossible to cover up every single detail to be enhanced, thus causing unsettling view of low quality and high quality objects to appear all together.
Nexus mods' modders are the real studio behind the success of Skyrim and every other Bethesda games
The moders would be no "studio" without Bethesda decision to add a mod toolkit to the game for players.
Also this mods looks idiotic actually. High poly models and even hairs is idiocy since this is just "non game ready stuff" in game development that is why this Skyrim is 100 gb when the same 2011 Skyrim is less than 10 gb
You can call me mad, but I think vanilla view is better, in Nolvus atmosphere is screwd. Whiterun hold is tundra hold, there should be not much trees here. Nolvus armor replacer sucks. Atmospheric effects in vanilla much better
Yep, I've often found that with modlists. Vanilla has a kind of unity of vision that's usually missing from mod collections, even though the bits and pieces considered separately may be better, they don't always amount to an artistic whole, and for all the rough and janky look of vanilla (even AE) it actually works a lot of the time.
Some collections do occasionally have a unified feel (e.g. I think Eldergleam has a fairly unified and consistent aesthetic that's an improvement more often than it's a downgrade) but for all the virtues Nolvus may have in terms of gameplay and raw graphics quality, it's a wash when it comes to art design.
To make a good modlist that others might want to play, you have to have a combination of obsessive autism (so you bloody-mindedly try out ALL THE THINGS), plus a sense of good gameplay, PLUS a sense of aesthetics that's quite rare for autists.
Nice, but I prefer vimefy version. I think his modlist is still unbeatable to this day
30-40fps on action scenes with lot of enemy in some Kairn of souls, if you dont have pentagon pc, KEK, VERY TY
yeah but why you dont have a 3080 and better ? not expensive anymore wtf
Yeah, I like Nolvus, but I still changed the combat:)))
I don't care about new grafics, that kills the atmosphere of skyrim, imho. But, thanks to these video, I found out that Skrim has POLISH dub ! Now, i want to play the game with it)
Dont get me wrong nolvus is an amazing modlist but something about it felt lacking
Everyone whos saying "bu bu but that doesn't look like skyrim"
Umm thats the whole point of mods
Here I thought mod changed the dialogue in the cart to something actually interesting..😂
More interesting than "hey you! You're finally awake"? Not possible bro 😂
The characters look too smooth and have too nice modern hairstyles. I would prefer rough looking high poly high res vanilla like hairstyles and skins. Armors are amazing, textures too. I don't mind the number of trees and grass. I like the updated towns. Definitely needed since the game is like 13 years old. The days and nights are too fucking dark. I understand it looks atmospherically great but it's a game and you need to see shit.
thats the only issue i had with hairstyle mods in skyrim when i played back then. I dont think they have shampoo and hair conditioner in tamriel...
The introduction looks better in vanilla im not gonna lie
The improvements are night and day but done fuc..ked it up the minute you decided to change clothes, armor, doors, etc, etc. All you had to do was improve it while leaving it native.
Nolvus is a great modlist but man it doesnt have the magic of Skyrim anymore, too much stuff
The water continues to be more realistic in the Anniversary Edition version.
Yu loose some atmosphere in the game, while gaining maybe too much lush
Sometimes I don't know wnich one is modded and vanilla...
One is smooth the other isn't
New textures and lighting effects go a long way in making skyrim beautiful and next-gen. But the god aweful animations still hold it back.
wygląda ciekawie
It's a no from me. I love leveling archery by hunting wildlife and the blasted trees would be a constant menace. To echo other people; why so many?
Bro really said "i can do better."
Nolvus is good but crash a lot and a lot of bug quest story music bug ETC.
At first glance it looks cool and all. But somehow all these mods kill the art aspect if it. Biggest example is the color schemes and art style. Modded, retextured Whiterun looks like it is in northern Cryodill and that's not right imo.
I never played vanilla and only started playing Nolvus, it does seem like while Nolvus has way more details and feel more immersive, it does lose the original atmosphere and the medieval vibe to it. I can see for people who enjoyed the vanilla hates this modlist.
Reading some comments here got me sad, people give too much crap about what people do with their lives instead of theirs,
yeah, Nolvus and most mods change the "soul" of the game, but that's why they're there, if you love the vanilla, then don't mod,
don't watch modding videos at all, no one is forcing you to mod the game and no one should be "scared" of what others think,
just mod the S(*& out of it and it's fine!
Actually....Icelandic or Scandinavan would be closer to the language spoken by the Nords
I just feel like at a certain point you've changed it too far from what it is. I've modded Skyrim since it came out and anymore I find myself preferring an almost vanilla+ load order. Some added flavor, slight balance changes, better overall fidelity etc, but it still FEELS like Skyrim.
People in comments seething because they are consoles gaymers and cant make the game look like that lmao
my crapy 5700xt can run this only in 12-15FPS in 4k :(
IDK, vanilla game atmosphere is really great, feels like this mod lost it. It looks great especially in wild nature, but sometimes it’s too much
Overall stylistically it became closer to Oblivion. Neither good, nor bad
best ist do it to your own taste, (Enb bad balanced) but one mistake (either you did konw what you do or not) only one thing cann crush your whole modding sessioin. like me faced serveral times.
Nolvus wins
It's funny, as my faith in Bethesda fades, my amazement in modders grow. It will get to the point, Bethesda just releases a bare bones game and modders do the rest.
Vanilla better, obviously
I don't think so.
My pc : please no🙏🙏🤌
old looks soo much better 😲
Dobre
well, putting this many trees in a tundra-like environment is just fucking stupid
Exceptional if your purpose is to make everything look overpolished and unnaturally gay
Why does anniversary edition look better? lol I’ll pass
Because overmodding the game might be worse than not modding at all.
@@SkyrimExplorer 100%. Opening scene on the cart the mod made one of the dudes had armor on. I’m like ???
