For those wondering: bethesda actualy cut all this content because it wasn't glitchy enough to fit into the game.
They couldn't include it. It'd set the precedent too high. Then they'd have to actually flesh out the content we have.😂

Sent to investigate 4 missing apprentices, find out they are all dead, given a Staff of Zombies for your trouble. That's in poorer taste than the "put to rest" line.
You can still find all their stuff and bodies around, I looked it up when I found the burnt one with the flame cloak spell which just might always be there at every level. Too bad lot of skyrim quests like to pay you barely anything for crazy quests. Go kill a giant gaurded by 3 mammoths and 2 other giants for 100 gold. Probably found more gold in loot beforehand
That's stupid man, they should've kept that civil war content in the game. It would've made the questline more meaningful and make you feel like your choices matter.
A bunch of people are saying it was cut because of console limitations, but I know that's bullshit, my PS3 could handle that civil war. I know because it ran amazing on a old console filled with many many games.
Marshal Marshall You seem so sure about it. Most of it was cut out because of Console's problem, really, it is. Some script limitation (on console) and rendering would make the game run like shit if they added those removed content (that's why most Skyrim mods don't exists on console, only pc). Plus another reason is that, civil war became so long that Bethesda had to cut out the "unnecessary" parts like attacking all holds that belonged to the opposite faction, which sucks.

wish they would have kept in the Tullius-Thalmor tension subplot, would have made the civil war at least halfway interesting instead of something you do once you've done everything else before buggering off to Solstheim until the next game where everything you did isn't even mentioned

The cart ride was already excruciatingly slow. Having the thief and the rebel in a heated debate would be better since it's not like you're being told about your execution like a child, and cutting the exposition into natural speaking would give you some gaps to fill as you explore (since this is more of an exploration game than a role playing game).
@boxlet And Tullius talking about it to Ulfric if you side with the Stormcloaks, and a little mention to you about the Thalmor being the next enemy if you side with the Empire. But yeah, more focus on it would be good

I remember how in my playthrough we were attacked by dragon and he ressurected the Archmage. Funniest shit ever because after attack they casually say good dramatic things about Savos, while his body literally turned into ash piles.

Console limitations are no longer a problem with these next Gen consoles yet they all they did with these remasters was spruce up the graphics and call it a day. *That’s it.*

Clearly General Tullius is a great Leader. Caught Ulfric in a trap in Skyrim (suppsedly Ulfric's territory) even though it is still months that he stayed in skyrim. He wants to fight the Thalmor but he can't because the Emperor he serve forbids them.

One of these that always bothered me was the missing apprentices in Winterhold; still being able to ask about them and find their scenes and items with no way to turn them in. Kept em anyway to remember those poor cut fools.

This is so much cut content that would’ve made Skyrim an True 10/10 game imo. Literally actual battles and not fetch like quests.... Unique npcs that are able to be fought in the pit fights... hell this could’ve being dlc for 5-10dollars minimum or free updates and could’ve being great

I have a mod where I can make anyone my follower if they had the dialog options, and made scouts many marshes a follower. I stumbled upon this interaction on accident when we visited the corner club and I nearly shit myself
Most of this stuff looks completed. I don't see the reason why Bethesda cut it off.
For stuff like the dialogue they probably shortened or lengthened the conversations or for different takes, (notice how different Havar sounds). and for the stuff like items, weapons and monsters it’s probably because of balancing issues or because they were useless or unnecessary. @@jackcouch8322 Yeah they're usually the biggest reason for cut content, at least used to be from the advent of roms till only pretty recently, and even now you still have to cut some corners to fit a big game on a console.
Most of this stuff would just replace what we already have in the game, so if they replaced that content with the current game content that would be the cut content.
21:40 This one's the most bizarre thing to have been cut. Why? The location itself wasn't cut, but the NPCs, as the section states, was. Thus, when you enter this location, it's completely void of anyone around.
Ikr I literally went out of my way to find that place and slaughter all of the Thalmor inside, but when I went in, it was completely empty!

Hmm you're right, it is weird. Truth is, I think that the majority of cut content is just abandoned last minute for time restraints (they had to meet the release deadline and such). As a result, it would have taken just as long to go back and remove these items as it would have to actually follow through with them.
I only went in there after completing the Civil War quest line on the side of the Stormcloaks, so I thought the place was empty because they fled Solitude or something lol

why did they cut the civil war questline? this looked so good, and was basically fleshed out enough to be a final product.
It had no permanent ending too, so it would have been more lore friendly that way. Unlike now where things are more determined in terms of which side wins. .

You see all this cut content should have been added to ps4, xbox one versions of Skyrim. Like they could have done what the Spongebob Battle for Bikini Bottom re-hydrated is doing where they're adding the cut content that didn't make it in the game the first time.

I always found the College of Winterhold and characters to be boring it (bar Tolfidr) they just didn't add much to the college, the few added quest may have been simple but certain would have got you immersed in the game more.

How I WISH we could’ve had the Thalmor as a third joinable Civil War faction. Just so we could see their perspective or how they’d handle their role as a secondary antagonistic force in the story.
I wish we could see the cut quest of Mephala when Balgruuf's siblings kill him and his brother replace him as Jarl of Whiterun. Also it is miss the second quest of Boethiah when you have to kill Elisif

@@defalhady9885 I guess it depends on taste, or maybe it's because the opening was just so bland in the vanilla that anything seems better than the original opening. I personally find this much more interesting and immersive.
The writing is good tho. It's aimed for a Elder Scrolls fan since Morrowind or Oblivion who knows things about Tamriel. I think it was cut out because new players who just got into the franchise wouldn't understand any of it and it would spoil things to discover.

Hits you a bit harder when you realize they could've added all of this back into Skyrim via Special Edition. They had what, a couple years? More than enough time to add all of this back in and then have some time left to work on other shit. If they'd have added just a few of the bigger things that were cut (quest-line stuff having to do with factions & etc), it truly would've made the remaster "special".

I came across this the other day but there was no body. The Dagger was still there. I was so confused with the dagger and name of the area, i figured there had to be a cut quest involved.

It always bothered me how there were bodies and possessions of other students scattered around Winterhold and none of the teachers seemed to care. I guess we know why now. O.o Thanks for sharing!

You can really see how the stormcloaks are doing so well the way Ulfric just tears through imperials in the escape with ulfric version
The first one is what Skyrim is like in an alternative reality.
The intro heavily favors the rebellion. Anyone who heard Ralof speak the way he did would more than likely choose the Stormcloaks over the Empire

Very glad they changed the opening cart dialogue. This is kind of the opposite of “show, don’t tell.”
Same, though from what I've seen online reactions seem to be mixed. Many people like the expository kind of dialogue and it does give more context to what is going on in Skyrim as a whole, but then again you *do* find out about the political climate of Skyrim as you speak with other npcs and explore the province.
It's funny if you think about it.
They prepared content like arena fights, extra depth for the civil war quest and more things to do at the college of Winterhold.
Yet for the anniversary edition, the only thing they are going to add is fishing.
