So i recently decided to dive back in. Figured I'd go for a survival run through as an argonian. Boy was i in for a shock. First rule is never level up, well thats straight out the window as you jave to sleep so level up avoiding is gone. Second thing i learnt is that argonians hate the cold and thus good armour is out due to weight limits so crappy warm fur armour is a givven especially when heading north. Third thing i learnt is that argonians like meat but not veggies. Completely changed my gaming experience. Still the same game but absolutely brutal. However the argonians do have several tricks in compensation, warmth means pickpocketing in a warm place is easy, they can eat raw meat without getting diseases and they have water breathing. What a game. If only there were perks added for survival runs or a skill tree for survival runs.
"Really? You had to take the armor? Leave me with a little dignity." Indeed, because you just stripped her naked to rob her corpse. Gotta love it when NPCs respond so realistically.
I've been playing for 6 years - on and off - and am just about to finish the main quest line for the first time. Once I'm done, there's hundreds of hours worth of content left. I started when my boy was born, and I suppose it will take me until he goes to college to 100% Skyrim.
I'm on my journey to collect all the trophies and do as many quests as I possibly can and it's been one hell of a journey so far 😁 Especially since I'm playing it vanilla to get those trophies. On PS5. I started it on PC with many mods, but at some point the mod that was supposed to enable the achievements broke and I didn't get them anymore and couldn't fix it. I was pretty far out already, but it didn't matter. I started a new character weeks ago and did it all over again 😂 Now it's my most accomplished save file. And I still haven't done many things I have done before. Saying Skyrim has infinite amount of content isn't really that far from the truth. 😅 And I'm ALREADY planning my NEXT character 🤣 I have finished the main quest line only 3 times now during all these years. Currently trying to get all trophies on a console without mods because apparently my life isn't difficult enough 😂 Already have half a dozen quests permanently bugged/glitched, countless graphical glitches, dozens of crashes, freezes and stuck loading screens, accidentally dublicated items, restarted quests and a whole lot of other stuff I really could do without. I mean, it's a 13 years old game and the vanilla game is still basically unplayable. As soon as I'm done with rhe trophies I'll go back to modded PC gameplay ASAP 😅 I moved to a console because the mod enabling the achievements stopped and refused to work for whatever reason. I bet it wouldn't take them more than a day to implement those already existing fixes to the vanilla game... Why they can't do it is beyond me...
You forgot to mention the ambiance/environment with the ost playing in the back and the nostalgia that comes with it, the unparalled freedom, the enjoyments of experimenting a new build (such as bow/dagger+invisibility Spell, everything on quickslot) or opting for a more aggressive approach by maxing out shields allowing you to effortlessly knock down anyone that is on your way, and, naturally: modding the game whenever you have a brand new computer
Honestly, even if they do release ES6, I think Skyrim is still going to remain one of their best. It has the right combination of large detail and small detail, has a good map that you can reliably memorize, and plenty of alternate options for questlines you don't want to deal with. ES6 will have a *lot* to live up to, no matter how many paid mods they try to stuff into it. I'll give the creation club mods the credit they deserve, several of them are pretty good (The armor mods in particular can be pretty neat.), but no matter how big they make the next game, they have to content with the juggernaut that is skyrims free modding scene. It's so easy that *I've* made mods (Small ones for the purpose of linking a door to another location because I got frustrated with running up a big ass stairway every time I went there), and I'm mostly inept. The things I've seen that scene do are galaxies away in comparison.
I genuinely don't know most of these because I always play a breton with dragon armor. Never switched it up because I could stack bodies better than all the dragons put together.
I did't know that you could fet attacked by wearing ulfric stromclock armor by the solitude guard commander! I learn new things! This game have infinite possibility!
Same, I played the original vanilla game on Xbox 360, then the modded versions on Xbox One and now on Series S and I’m still discovering things I never knew. Truly one of the best video games ever made.
The funny thing is this game does more to acknowledge what you did then some Zelda games. That series could learn something from acknowledging things more and making combat more then just replacing your gear.
Its a shame that most of the mods are little kid cheats. This game needed a 1 life mode, any characters can die, realistic night time lighting, illegal necromancy with a 10 body limit that was life based NOT TIME LIMITED, the anti sun arrow lasting permanently or until a spell was cast to stop it. Heat generated from campfires so they actually mattered. Able to cook without salt but add a spoil system. Removal of the pause time mechanics. Using the d pad for quick equip, the favorites menu is almost completely pointless. A way better 3rd person camera. Realistic locomotion speeds. Better locomotion animation for player movement, see fallout 4....And of course, 2 player co op in the form of a friend taking over a companion or something like "a new game that is only accessible if youre both online and console connected" a mode that would benefit fallout 4 and especially mgs5. Its super iconic. But modders added ridiculous stuff that didnt improve gameplay.
Yeah Special Edition is the remaster and then they added mods for consoles and creation club. If you get anniversary edition then you get all the stuff from creation club. So you get extra quests. You should get the anniversary edition.
My Steam nr. 1. for 2023: Skyrim SE. Playing it for 12 years now. Best game ever made despite all it's flaws and thanks to the awesome modding community! Have a great 2024!
Gotta love this classic game with so many love filled details and interactions with npc's. Thank you for this. I'll have to go back and do some quests I didn't do like the gourmet one. I don't remember if I did the Katria one either. interesting interaction with shooting the sun too - I'll have to try that.
I shot the sun with one of those blood arrows and I went to the vampires at that castle and they were worried about the sun being out. Maybe you can do a video on that lol.
They realused what Valerica was saying. No sun = no plants, no plants = no herbivores, no herbivores = no carnivores, no carnivores or herbivores = almost no living humans, almost no living humans = no food no food = madness and death
This video doesn't really explain why Skyrim sold 60 million copies until you realize just how low the bar has sunk for writing and narrative design in video games today.
As much as I want you give the game praise, fan boys will always kiss the cheeks of Todd Howard. No matter how many times he slaps a new paint job on a bug riddled, nothing new game that is only saved because of the modding community.
Mage gameplay sucks, dragons are supposedly 'inteligent' creatures -> they're underdeveloped but one of the main features of the game, quest plotlines are unimaginative (you become leader of everything and still have no power), dialogue options have no consequences and so on and so on...
Yeah just enjoy the game and don't bother with others who want you to stop. If people don't like it then they can just play something else. I see Bethesda games as flawed but also fun. Yes, all their games have certain flaws but people enjoy them and they like to explore the world's in their games. TES VI will definitely have flaws too.

I will try a shteel sword, thank you
11:26 the insult XD
Probably started like a hundred or so.
KEEEEEEP GOOOINNNNNGGGGGG
Duuude I just started Skyrim for the first time on Switch when my 2nd son was born too. 5 weeks ago. It is awesome

When I started playing, thieves came to rob me, today they recognize me and come to pay me tribute for being part of the thieves' guild, I love this random encounter
I have only read about it. Never really played stealth so my Nightingale armor was always dusting on some manequin lol
Same things with assassins attacking you after blackmailing Riften's steward: if you're already Dark Brotherhood, this doesn't happen.
@@ВікторКушнір-й8оbut you have to wear their armor for that to happen, not worth it.
@@zosochan21 you think? I read about that on wiki. Seemed verified enough. Also, one of my characters recently (after this comment of mine) got attacked by an assassin on a bridge east of Riften. Didn't wear a DB armor at all. Hadn't touched the Civil War questline either. Somebody put a hit on me, dude had Astrid's letter and all on his corpse. Read a comment to some TH-cam video with a player describing same experience in the Rift (probably the same bridge), I wonder what triggers it cause I've been there multiple times in other playthroughs and it didn't happen once.
Shooting bloodcursed arrows at the sun in Skyrim VR is an experience I will never forget
Where do u get the arrows from?
@@26MECH after completing the dawnguard DLC (I think you have to side with the vampires) you receive Auriels bow and some special arrows. I’m not sure if they’re just normal elven arrows or not but I know you get them throughout the course of the dlc. Just take some of the arrows to Serana and she should have a dialogue option to curse the arrows with her blood. Now they’re ready to shoot at the sun with Auriels bow👍

Just keep in mind that this makes random vampires spawn within the city same as in the wild.

Love that Brenuin pulls a Bart Simpson and petty much goes "I didn't do it" during the sun-blotting. XD (It's his usual dialogue, though, so it's actually like he doesn't notice it. 😂 )
Also; great appreciation for featuring Teldryn. He's definitely a large part of why I'll still be playing Skyrim even when ( -if- ) TESVI comes out.
Thumbnail be like: Me and the boys on the way to the negotiation.
I’ve wracked up over 2,000 hours on Skyrim on my PC, and used to play it a LOT more on the Xbox back in high school so I figure I’ve played the game for over 6,000 hours… but half of this is new to me.
With active modders fixing the bugs and adding new immersion this game still kicking alive
"I ain't done nothin'"

really fun, great laughs! I will never play as long or well as you, so thanks for the comedy I didnt know was there!
I don't know how to explain but I always found the guards adorabl
This is what I’m thinking and my fear as well.
A game very close to my heart, for all the shit Bethesda get, I will always thank them for this
3:00 funnily enough, with Campfire mod, you can find a spellbook that teach you how to conjure a bed and fireplace.
I genuinely don't know most of these because I always play a breton with dragon armor. Never switched it up because I could stack bodies better than all the dragons put together.
Yeah, when I try to play stealth archer, somehow my characters always end up as heavily armored sorcerers.
First mod: replace the cloned potato head kids with reasonably looking children.

9:55 "you should try sh-teel"
"most of the mods are little kid cheats" You've never actually gone and looked at the mods, have you?
Honestly if Skyrim got a huge Remaster with Better graphics more quest, and A little more impact to gameplay I don’t think people would complain
what do you think special edition was lmao
Yeah Special Edition is the remaster and then they added mods for consoles and creation club. If you get anniversary edition then you get all the stuff from creation club. So you get extra quests.
You should get the anniversary edition.
Like... Modded?
Anniversary is worth it if only for the saints and seducers content. Well worth a punt for 15 quid. Glad I bought it again at dlc level prices.
That would make it much harder to mod.

Vampires worried about the sun not being out? Seems legit.
@@Arthaslk67 I was excepting them to say something like the time is ours.
They realused what Valerica was saying. No sun = no plants, no plants = no herbivores, no herbivores = no carnivores, no carnivores or herbivores = almost no living humans, almost no living humans = no food no food = madness and death
@@Animelover19903 some vampires does, not all, maybe not all of then want the sun out.
This video doesn't really explain why Skyrim sold 60 million copies until you realize just how low the bar has sunk for writing and narrative design in video games today.
The way tullius trails off at 3:45 is such a minor detail but it always gets me (the 0 times I join the legion, that is)
As much as I want you give the game praise, fan boys will always kiss the cheeks of Todd Howard. No matter how many times he slaps a new paint job on a bug riddled, nothing new game that is only saved because of the modding community.

Very dumb how u take out the sun but still receive the negative affects of the sun if you’re a vampire
I am such a defender of Skyrim I will fight other people in a cage match over Skyrim being good
Mage gameplay sucks, dragons are supposedly 'inteligent' creatures -> they're underdeveloped but one of the main features of the game, quest plotlines are unimaginative (you become leader of everything and still have no power), dialogue options have no consequences and so on and so on...
No Bethesda game has ever been perfect and that's okay.
