    Nice review and very well ordered and thought out. I’ve had my MT07 for 12 months since new and done 5000 miles, mods to make it personal and sounds great with aftermarket exhaust system and changed front brake pads for better feel and stopping power. Have thought about ‘upgrading’ to one of the bigger two but seriously the MT07 can move plenty fast enough for UK roads. Being more affordable has allowed me to get a second ‘bike’ too a Vespa gts300 which is so different but still fun. I’ve removed the rear footrests on the MT07 so the Vespa enables me to take the grandchildren out. Keep up the good work and thanks for posting 👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻

    I like the 09, but the seating and peg position could be WAY better. And you can flick it around pretty easily. The 10 is just a monster all around and pretty comfortable and defs the way to go if you're doing long rides and highway rides. The 07 seating and peg position is great, and the thing is like riding super moto on steroids. If you're a city rider or love tearing up the twisties, the 07 is basically unmatched. And the 09.... eh is for whoever else i guess.. just my experience with all 3 🤷‍♂️

    Funny......I recently demo'd an MT-10 and felt the steering to be stiff without realizing the built in steering damper before this video? I found the ride modes didn't affect the acceleration, just the dampening of the throttle response? The middle was perfect for me. The stock suspension doesn't need to be modified, and I was really really impressed with the braking! Not to mention it is fast!

    Mt09 does not have a power mode. It's just makes the throttle less twitchy and more linear if you ride in b mode. Power is still the same as a mode. It's just delivers the power more linear. A mode is just instant responce.

    For an experience rider, the -09 is all you'll ever need, practically and logically. And if you want the most bang for buck in this area, I do believe the Kawasaki Z900 offers a much better overall experience from factory, although they are BOTH very excellent.

    • @exothermal.sprocket
      @exothermal.sprocket 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@alanyesilipek7959 I owned the 2008 Z1000 back when the still used the increased-displacement ZX-9R converted to fuel injection engine. Styling was very similar, only it was pearl metallic white with orange and chrome highlights.
      Also owned a 2017 Z900 non-abs for a while. Currently '18 MT-09 is my only ride. I've briefly demo'd the Ninja 1000SX so that's my experience with the bigger 1043cc engine.
      Given the increased weight of the multiple machines that use the 1043cc engine, they are very different in feel compared to the 948cc engine in the current Z900. Very different. I know architecturally, the 948cc engine is based very much on the bigger 1043, but custom heads, bored, valvetrain, lighter crank, and a bunch of other stuff. The Z900 engine feels very eager to rev, it's supremely tractable with throttle control and response, extremely unlike the MT-09. Yet it's got a pretty burly mid-range torque response, and very linear power. I didn't find the feel of the Ninja 1000SX engine to be anything like the 948 engine. Probably due to all the extra weight, heavier flywheel and crankshaft, top heavy nature of the bike, and so on.
      The older 953cc Z1000 was about a half-way house between the current Ninja 1000SX and current Z900. The Z900 feels super stable, very eager to rev (unlike the 1043cc engine), very confidence inspiring chassis, very much an "in the bike" riding experience. The MT-09 on the other hand (not the new 890cc) feels like "on top of the bike", unstable, confidence-destroying, unpredictable and wild riding experience. Great engine, all the rest is a mess (without thousands $$ in aftermarket help). Also took the new 890cc MT out and it's extremely different than the last gen (mine), very much improved and I could tell the difference while rolling out of the parking lot for the first ride. I still like the Z900 and I would call it an equal in performance, but a very smooth and linear engine for those who hate vibration and unhinged powerbands.

      I sold the 07 a year after getting the 09. 07 had a Yoshi full exhaust, Vcyclenut flash, -1/+2 sprockets. Exhaust and flash were a must have for the sound and to kill the ridiculous engine braking on the earlier models. IMO the gear change was a mistake. It’s got plenty of grunt down low already and you don’t want to make it rev even higher on the interstate. I miss it. The sound was incredible and it was perfect for hooning around town. The 09 feels a little bigger and gives you a little more room. I always felt cramped after an hour on the 07, a better seat would have helped. 09 also feels a little more stable at “highway” speeds. I felt like I was beating on the 07 running 80+ for long stretches although I’m sure it really didn’t mind. The 09 seems to ask you if you want to go faster.

    The mt09 power drops off at the top end cos its been mapped to do that....its restricted at higher rpms the ecu closes the throttle even when u have it at 100%....full twist on the throttle but the throttle flap closes to 75 to 85 % ...
    You get over 10% gains just from an ecu reflash....a reflashed mt09 would probably match a standard mt10

    If Yamaha would just make a Mt-01...... a tiny Mt-07 with their mt125 engine, but make this bike the same size as the z125 and Grom they would sell them out I believe.
    I know the groms are hard to beat, and the z125 is fantastic as well. I just think all the Yamaha sport bikes from the last 5 ish years have had a look to them that is very distinct, and i would love to see the Yam version of the grom! Just a lil baby mt09 looking machine with a single 125 or 150

    The only comment I have is that the MT-07 is actually more expensive to ensure than the MT-09 for me. I imagine this is similar to the small car vs midsize car comparison. Since the MT-07 is cheaper and more ideal for new riders, there are likely more instances where claims are made. For me the MT-09 was 35% cheaper to insure vs the MT-07 unless I got the SP variant. The MT-09SP was 30% more than the MT-07. Your experience may vary.

    • @WR-xl5rc
      @WR-xl5rc 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@mr.hansen5195 despite what alot of people say, the 10 had plenty of low end tourque once it is tuned with throttle delay off. Not to mention the crazy top end power makes the 09 feel like a toy. A snap of the throttle in 3rd gear and you can ride out a wheelie to about 120. Also the r1 suspension and steering stabilizer make all the difference in the corners and makes you forget about the size of the bike!

      @@WR-xl5rc I have the MT-09 SP (modded with Akra, KN and remapping), so it's with the Öhlins rear shock and the improved front shock absorbers, so I think it's pretty okay suspension wise. Don't have a steering damper though, but to me the suspension system works sufficient enough without. But I haven't yet tried out the MT-10. Must see, if I can get a trial run on a modded version..

    Looking at the new R7 with the CP2 engine, I love the low down grunt (used to vtwins) but similar money is a used MT10. Dilemma is I love the look of the new R7 and think I’ll get on with the power delivery but not sure if it’ll be quick enough for me. So looking at the MT10 for that extra speed but like you said, when you’re full gas on it, you’re breaking laws so I’ll get in trouble.. hmmm 🤔

However I will imagen is one of the best second bikes to have will be interested to know how often people moved from one to the other and wish one they moved too . So mt07 moved to mt09 or 10 ? Mt09 to mt10 or something else in the 1000cc (duke 😍) or Mt09 to mt07 ? I don’t see that happen but could happen no 🤷🏻‍♂️
