    I have a the Mt-03, and so..
    Why not the 07? Because first the mt03 look way better, the jauge are more sport, the look too and the motor is the same as the r3. The mt07 is over used where I from, I chossed originality because I don't want the same bike as 150 other in your town..if you want to ride fun without breaking the laws it would be the perfect choice. You can go fully throttle and still be in the limit, and That the point of fun.. Why need a bike if you can reach 120km/h in second gear? The best is go to 1..then 2..then 3..etc and always push the bike to the rpm, this is my opinions about why I ride a bike. Then if you feeling like the bike is too slow for you or your license for 35kw has gone you can change.. Why buying mt07 + need to pay the kit 35kw when you can use full mt03 power and the bike is much cheaper. Insurance is more important for the mt07 too so... Money is something you will need to think when making the choice don't forget that too.. Begginer or not
    For me the 03 is worth it, people are always looking for speed and big motor bike.. Why do you want to do with a H2 in street seriously.. Buying 1000cc bike with lot of power for using only 10% of the power or loosing your license? Choice a bike you like and you will feel good withy that all. Don't listen to the idiot that's said buy a big bike with huge motor and stuff.. Mt03 is a good deal you can buy it without any doubt :-)
    (sorry for bad English I try my best..)

      True. I have also the A2 licence and I was not sure if i should buy a MT03 or Mt07. On the end I said to myself that I will buy the Mt03 because I want anyways the A licence, and when I get it I will buy something like a GS 750 or so. And I can say the MT03 is more then perfect for beginners. I traveled also one day 500 km to my home country and it worked perfect. No issues, fuel consumption in average 2,9 liters. I tried her also out on the Highway and the bike went 150 km/h easy, but then I stopped. So I would recommend the bike to everybody as a beginner. I think more power would just be more dangerous. The Mt03 is fast enough for a beginner, trust me. The only reason I would buy a MT07 instead of a MT03 i, if I would like to keep the MT07 after i get the A licence. Sry for my english, I hope everybody understood me. Just wanted to say my opinion on the MT03, because I see most of the people ignore this bike because of the MT07.

    I've been riding since 1992 that's 31 years and I'm not Kevin Schwantz or Rossi. I'm just a normal rider with some experience and I see this question a lot: Is the MT-07 a good beginner bike and my answer NO! NEVER AND UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE. I've had 9 bikes in 31 years. From sports to cruisers to nakeds ... And no I'm not rich. But the bike I currently own is the MT-07 and this is the most wild, difficult to control, beginner UNfriendly that does not allow room for mistakes bike I've ever ridden. If you don't know how to break properly or use down shifting to slow down the bike or just doing a U turn - Do not buy this bike because you will crash. Now do with this advice what you will.

    @peterpage7322 4 ปีที่แล้ว +6

    I purchased a mt07 after 50 years of motorcycling on mostly big bikes, bmw k1300s, firblades etc, and found the mt07 actually more fun as I am getting older and more careful. Great bike and too easy to ride after riding older prehistoric bikes in my youth. It is very very forgiving if you set yourself up wrong for a bend for instance, it has loads of torque and enough top speed for our roads. If on the other hand you want to do track days, it would be a good bike to start on and work your way up. The problem is that modern bikes are so well balanced and have so much torque that they inspire almost too much confidence which of course started with the fireblade. These days they are missiles on wheels and easy to get carried away on.

  •  4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Great review, you talk about the bike, but also the economics, the case for every type of rider, very structured video, good quality and sound, and you give non legal speed review too which normally none do as for me is important because you never know if you are going to need that extra power on an emergency manuver which can be an important factor in this mid range price bikes/ starter bikes, and you say it, thank you, you got a new suscriber.

  • @raywite6665

    There are "beginners" who can jump on a 600 sport bike and be fine. There are many many who should only ride a 250-300 for at least a year or more if they truly want to learn motorcycling. Just because someone thinks that have it all worked out and buys an MT/FZ07/09 as their first bike they fail in the small things like real emergency braking and avoidance, riding competently in heavy traffic, CLOSING SPEED control. New riders are often harassed by others for having a "beginners" bike. Watch a few of these wheelie three digit wonders on TH-cam and you'll see it was necessary for them to learn basics which they skipped. You a gambler? get a 600-1000 bike it may be your last. You want to enjoy riding for decades? take a course get the smaller bike live with the jokes and jeers, you can never learn enough no matter how long you ride.

  • @zerotonine807
    @zerotonine807 4 ปีที่แล้ว +12

    the answer ist so easy. The smaller Bike is always better for the Beginner as you want to learn/improve your skills since your licence. Many good riders can outperform a shoff-off on his "big-bike" who doenst have any experience handling a bigger bike. Its not about showing-off, riding is about safety in the first place and a smaller bike is just much better to handle, lighter. Especially the MT07 has one disadvantage: the tire is too wide for a middle-class bike with 180 mm. All competitors have 160 mm which makes them much easier to ride in the corner.
    The question is only interesting in terms of money: an A2 bike is an A2 bike, there will be no limitation which can be disabled after you get the A licence. A limited bigger bike can be continued riding after the A licence with more power.
    i like A2 bikes but its always this idea to sell it after the A licence. It should be a everyday bike next to your primary bike if you can afford it.

      Idk why people say shit like this; it's total BS.
      I've been riding for 8 years and I'm currently riding an MT-03 which I've had for 2 years. I'm using it to commute in a city with HEAVY traffic so the size and weight lends itself to filtering and very high MPG.
      On top of that, it has a higher power:weight ratio than a CB500R, and with a bit of a tune your top speed can be ~130mph.
      I've NEVER gotten bored of it. I don't know why people think you would. Maybe you're right about a 125, or a 200cc bike - but the MT-03 outperforms legal road limits easily. Unless you're doing regular track days, it doesn't matter.
      TL;DR - don't listen to people like this. This bike does not get boring.

    Maybe it’s because I own a MT-07 and I’m used to seeing the design day in and day out, but I actually think the MT-03 is a much much much more attractive bike. I like the analog tach, I like the fact that the belly has a fairing and isn’t just left open, I like the color matched radiator, and I like the slightly more aggressive riding position and stance, and I like the rims more.
    The MT-07’s design is my biggest gripe and I’ve spent the better part of 2 years tinkering with the aesthetics of mine just to get it right. Clear wind screen, black wind screen, white wind screen, black rims, white rims, black rims with white rim tape, fender eliminator, flush mount signals, non flush mount signals, 2 different belly pans, bar end mirrors, stock mirrors, one mirror, white front fender, black front fender, rear seat cover, rear seat uncover. I just can’t get the look right. Something is just fundamentally off aesthetically with the MT-07 and first gen MT-09.
    I’ve actually been contemplating trading the thing in for a Street Triple RS simply because of my gripes with the design. I wish the MT-07 looked like the MT-03.

    Just an opinion of a current newer rider who has a temp license and a scheduled MSF course about to make his first purchase. Ive been doing my research for many years now due to never having a job well enough to warrant finally making buying a bike and also paying for maintenance. After 5 years im finally in a position to make a choice. i started looking at honda (i drive a civic and wanted to stay with he brand) cbr300r and cbr500r were my first looks but was always told 300's=bored quick but the 500 was way to heavy and not worth the upcharge. started looking into yamaha and these two bikes in the video. Personally im a going with a MT-07 here is why. 1. i plan to go new, yes i know but i want something reliable as a work commuter and trip bike as well so im not going used. plus im okay financing for the credit. 2. i plan to keep my first bike for a long time. So i will definitely get the worth out of the bike as i plan to have it for a while and use it often. finally 3. Having other experience trying different friends bikes ( honda grom and shadow, DRZ's and 150cc Scooters) i have enough respect for bikes to practice throttle control and safety. Personally this is just my story but hopes it helps someone make their decision. I know there can be a lot of gate keeping for making new riders start small or the opposite of peer pressure to start on a turbo busa (i see you Yami). Honestly its going to be your bike and your ride. Mistakes will be made and wheelies will be looped but at the end of the day your on two wheels and as long as your safe that what matters

    Coming from yamaha r6 wich is beast!! Id rather go to the mt 03. What he said is right being able to use the mt03 full potential in many diffrent situation is fun for new and experienced riders. Mt07 wil be faster and stuff but then again how often wil you be able to use it. And then again when u wil be able to use its full power the racers and bigger bikes wil be faster.

    I would recommend to get MT-03 as a beginner bike over MT-07 especially if you are a commuter via city traffic. I commute to work and do weekend short trip with my 2017 Ninja 300 (ave. 2,000 km/month) and I have no problem hitting 160 kmh (or 100 mph) on a highway. Yes, my Ninja 300 (or all 300 cc bikes) has some difficult time to accelerate quickly from about 110 kmh (70 mph), but it is still not too bad. If you are a beginner, I would recommend to try MT-3 for at least about 10,000 - 15,000 km (6 months to 2 yrs), then move on to a bike like MT-07. It may cost you a bit more since you have change your bike later, but I do not think you will lose that much riding MT-07 "after" 2 yrs of riding a smaller bike especially considering the savings from the fuel cost.

    If you are a bigger person who can afford the upgraded price get the MT07. Its a solid bike and a bit big to learn on. But if you are 6 foot or taller, go for it. However, if you are not, its safer to get the MT03 and you will still enjoy speed but safer.

  • @jordanblair5410
    @jordanblair5410 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    It would seem that the engine life of the 03 would be less. If the average engine speed is 8000rpm compared to, say 5000rpm on the 07, all of the engine's moving parts are doing more work, and it seems this would result in increased component wear per hour. On two strokes, you need to change the piston rings twice as often on a 125 mx bike compared to 250 for this reason. Thoughts?

    You can't go wrong by choosing the MT03 or the MT07.I like the MT09 but that's a different story.Insurance for the MT03 or the MT07.Is not that much.The Insurance for the MT09.You have to pay a little bit more cause of the size of the motor and the reputation the motorcycle has on the street.I had motorcycle insurance on my 09' Yamaha FZ6.And it was cheap.The MT09 will have you laughing and a big grin on your face.Put it in A mode and turn off the traction control.And you will be going like fast and easy to do wheelies.Don't get caught pulling wheelies.It's a exhibition of speed 2 point ticket with a significant fine where I live in Southern California.Yesterday it was 121 F. in the valley I live in and it broke a record.We are blessed in Southern California with great weather and you can split lanes on the Freeway,surface streets,Etc.And you can get to places a little faster if you split lanes.It's a addiction riding a great motorcycle as the MT09.I'll have to test ride a MT10 and see how much I like that motorcycle.
