oc: YOO today I purchased my first street bike! 2021 mt-07. Had my cousin ride it home from the dealership since it’s in a very busy part of town, but spent about an hour and a half riding around near my house afterwards trying to get reacquainted with two wheels. It’s been 19 years since I’ve been on a motorcycle, so I was taking it very slowly. Hardest part so far is remembering I don’t have self-cancelling blinkers! Even more so than rev matching (‘course, I’ve been driving a stick since 2012).
It’s a really serious issue and causes a lot of debate, in my country R7 are only 30$ cheaper than 650R, lots of people choose Honda simply for 4 cylinders, HSTC(my country rains often which makes it important) but Yamaha actually refused to get any more orders for R7 since yesterday, because they sold “too good” as they can’t consume the current orders in a short time.
I still love my MT07 after owning it for 3 years. My evil side tells me I need a race bike but my back tells me to keep the amazing MT. I think I will stick with my MT07 for a very long time. Just got some new road star 5 ready for the summer in NZ.
yeah if you go for sport bike then the R7 is not worth it. why pick the looks of the R7 over the comfort of the MT-07 when the R7 don't even really have that much more power. like what's the point of being uncomfortable and then also compromising on the actual things that makes a sport bike a sport bike. you get all the discomforts of a sport bike but the power of a comfortable naked. also kind of dumb they named it R7 when it's clearly not even a R7 but a MT-07R. i think the R7 would do even better if it was marketed as MT-07R
OC: I've been riding 5 years on naked bikes, and they are comfortable af and handling has always been amazing. I mainly ride city and backroads, never going very fast, more torquegang than speedgang. But I'd want the R7 because it's different, I'm willing to have to train my back and abs for the looks. I'd honestly only need to change the exhaust, and maybe the plate holder and would have a pretty much perfect looking bike
I think you underestimate how much "train for my back" the R7 likely takes. Typical of 'racebikes with lights' is high footpegs and that lean way forward position. The high footpegs can have your hips and knees on the edge of cramping. The lean way forward position not only strains your back, but puts a ton of weight on your wrists and hands as well. It can all get really old, really fast.
@@WildBikerBill To add to the other comment, if you sit correctly ua. Grip the tank with your knees and hold your upper body up with your back and abs, you shouldn't be getting wrist pain. The hands, even on a naked bike, only rest on the bars they never function as a base to hold a rider up
I grew up on dirtbikes and wanted to get a street bike. I got the mt07 just recently as my first street bike and I am IN LOVE. I feel so at home on it. I couldn't be happier.
Coming from dirt bikes, naked style bikes would for sure be the perfect choice for you with the dirt style bars and upright seating position, etc. but if you ever get the chance, try riding a 4 cylinder full fairing super sport like an older model R6 if you wanna stick with Yamaha. Definitely different than the naked style bikes but it’s a type of adrenaline and feeling that is simply unmatched by any other type of bike. Like flying a fighter jet on the ground or something 😂 Ride safe 👌
I bought the FZ-07 new in 2016 after watching Chase's review then. Still have the bike and really cherish it. Got rid of my speed triple a few years back, as I always said the Yamaha was more fun. My buddy bought the FZ-09 same day I bought the 07. I rode it and it was an extremely uncomfortable seat. He picked up a lot of bikes after he traded in the 09: a Busa, a Drz400, Ninja 400, a Kawasaki z650 (which was surprisingly buzzy), and i always was more happy to throw a leg over the 07 after riding those. It's torquey, lightweight, reliable, economical, and affordable. I'll have this bike for a long while. I should be picking up an 890 Duke R in a few weeks :)
Didn't think much of the MT-07 until I actually saw it in the showroom and realized how gorgeous that bike is! I'm 6'2 200lbs so it was kind of on the smaller side for me but it was absolutely a pretty bike.
@@Croth4r The seat height is about the same and I can flat foot both of them easily. But my CBR is about 55 pounds heavier and its frame is much wider. It also has a wider seat and a decent size pillion. So yeah I would say there's more room on the CBR.
The R7 with a flat bar conversion and slightly cut front fairing would be the best in between! Kinda like the Aprilia Tuono styling, more manufactures need to take that 'mid' approach!
nah i hope not. because this is not a ''mid'' approach. it's a more of a mislabeled bike. it's not a sport bike like the R6 it's just kusins with it. the R7 is a MT-07R . and while i do agree that full fairing versions of the naked bikes is a good thing that we do need. i also think that those bikes should at least not compromise comfort when they got a platform that falls flat on it's face when doing the stuff it's suppose to do. they don't need allot of power but they can't make 70hp and call it a day. i would not actually have anything against them doing something like a 90-100hp bike that revs a bit higher and can live up to the name. not against slower mid size bikes but just think that if you are gonna compromise the comfort then at least go all out and don't half ass it. or just don't build it as a full blown track bike in mind and rather do what they did before and just build a sporty touring bike like the FZ-6R you know something that is a bit more comfortable for daily use but still has fairings and the potential to go racing.
I would offer the caviat of: I live in small town texas and it's a good 40 miles to any actual city for me. I have a handlebar bike and I've had Supersports,I currently also have a fz6r. The fairing definitely helps on the highway
man, I own a mt07, and all my friends are sick and tired of me praseing the thing. did m4 exust stunt lever clutch mirors sliders e t c now I like; the look, torque, specially the sound, and position of course.
When switching, being on the R7 seemed like a punishment. Which makes me R7 is a great track bike or second bike. The MT-07 is the daily rider. The bike you could ride every day and hit the track and go off road on some minor trails. It’s almost like a dual sport. It’s almost super sporty. It’s just so good. I have watched EVERY first ride. And nothing has my attention as much as the MT-07.
OC MT 07. Had one and traded it for a Kawasaki ZX6R because it looks sexy... Only kept that for 9 months because 130mph gets old after a while. Got an MT09 and did 2k miles on a 4 day weekend trip. New riders, you can drop the coin on a sexy bike, but make sure you save up for a standard or hypernaked
OC it'd have to be the r7, I've always found all the mt07s ugly as hell 😂 and have daily'd sports and supersports since i stared riding, you get used to it and very rarely get any sort of back pain and never suffered with wrist or neck pain from them I'm also a very spirited rider but take my track prepped sv650 to the track here in the UK 🤘
I think majority of the people are choosing r7 for the looks. I ain't gonna be speeding and taking corners and my young ass body is already old😂. Got myself the mt07
OC: i bought an MT07 as my first bike at 42 and was super scared that i would kill myself or that I'd hate the bike based on what I'd heard about its suspension and a couple other issues, but it was realistically my only option in the very limited local market in the country I live in. Now, after having owned the bike for nearly a year, and it having become my daily driver, I honestly can't imagine living without it and will probably pick another one up when i move back to the states in four months time.
OC: MT-07. Mainly city riding and commuting. Just ordered one. First bike in ten years. Time to get back into the game. I'm pumped you guys compared it to a supermoto, as I kind of wanted one of those too. MT-07 seems to have a little bit of everything in it. It's like a hybrid of many bikes. So pumped to get it on the road soon. Only ever bike I had before was a gsx650f.
My opinion is based on data/specs, not on how they feel (because I haven't tried them out). That being said, it's definitely the R7 for me, because better aero= more speed AND better MPG (a.k.a. 'Smiles Per Gallon'). I love my Ninja 300 for that reason, but still find the riding position too upright. Reason #2 for R7, The STYLING! I guess I'm partial to sportbikes, anyways. 🏍
I have an R3 and even though the position might be uncomfortable love how light it feels, like you can easily move around on it, for me the next step would definitely be an R7
I went into this video wanting the MT 07 as my first bike than half way through I was leaning towards the R7 but by the end of the video I am back to wanting the MT 07 as yous have described it to be a more comfortable ride
Mt-07 is just hard to beat in just about any category. Bang for your buck. Nothing beats it. Fun factor= top of the line. might not be the best looking bike but its is just so much fun to ride that I can easly overlook that. Im buying a MT-09 but have really thought why not just save quite a bit and get MT-07?
As far as fun factors go: I actually hear that the MT-07 is the way to go over the 09. People say since it’s lighter and you feel you get more ‘use’ out of it, it’s more fun. Whereas the other has more power but feels more like a chore doing anything. I think even Chase in one of his videos mentioned he probably would do the MT-07 over his MT10 because of that.
To be honest when the R7 was announced I wasn’t a fan, but having ridden on an R125 cbt license for 3 years now and looking ahead it is starting to grow on me. I love my supersports and always love being locked in as you say. Also in terms of price and power it’s a good transition going from 11hp to about 80hp. I was originally thinking the 2020 R6 but that’s about 130hp and more expensive. I would love to jump on the R6 straight away but my common sense is winning me over and the more I do research on the R7 the more I am liking it 🤘
well if you wanna have most fun possible the r6 is Best but it's a bit too uncormfortable for daily so the r7 is better for that and the mro is even better
I have the black ‘21 MT-07. Pros: Absolutely love it. Rides great, sounds great, looks great (with TST add-ons.) Cons: ride position. Yes it’s comfortable, but after 60-65mph, these guys are right, you feel like a human wind shield! I’d also like to swap out the handle bars, or maybe do the clip ons. That R7, for me and my riding style, looks like it should’ve been my choice (based on looks and ride style alone.) I came up on sport bikes, so it’s hard for me to not want to lay on the tank and open it up. Other than that, they’re pretty much the same bike (same engine at least). Don’t get me wrong, I wouldn’t get rid of my bike, but I do prefer the sport bike setup more than the upright. Great video as always, Chase.
I have the MT-07 2021 Blue version. I'm absolutely in love with the bike! I mostly go on mountain trips and rarely go past 100 km/h. Also I'm a software engineer student and as a result I sit in front of the computer for extended period of time and could not stand the body position of any sport bike :/
OC: MT 07 is more comfy but still R7 is for me. Purely for the look. I am waiting for it to come in UK. Thanks for the another awesome video. P.S: My wife said you are not having one 🙄😂😂
I like the MT07, I like the R7, but what I'd LOVE is an "MT07/R7" hybrid, with the more relaxed riding position of the MT07, but the wind/weather protection of the R7 & the better brakes/suspension of the R7. This is a gap in the market that only Kawasaki seem seems to have anything close to filling. Of course if Yamaha ever got that stick outta their ass & let US riders have the Tracer 7GT that would be even better.
First of all well done on the video, I own the MT07 and love it, Anyone wanting to get one just like mine please remember the akrapovic sound system, you're welcome
OC - For me probably the R7 because it’s looks amazing and it’d be my first bike to ride and go cruising with friends. The MT-07 would be fun and comfortable but the R7 just does it for me. It wouldn’t be a primary vehicle but if I rode all the time then MT-07.
Just bought my first bike, i happened to pick up an MT07. It was between it and the kawa z650. The only reason I picked the yama is because as a taller rider (5'11') it was more comfortable and my hips weren't cramping.
Got to hop on both of these during a Demo Day last week. The only other bike I have been on is my Ninja 400 which I love and was my first bike. What an incredible experience getting to ride both of these in the same day, as a noobie, I don't think you can go wrong with either of these as long as you can tolerate the riding positions. I wish they got us on the highway like you said you were going to, though... ;)
Im trying to choose my first bike and Im stuck between the mt-07 and R7. I think what you said about being "On the bike" vs "Feeling In the BIke" is going to be what makes me lean MT-07. I'm mostly going to be riding around small towns and to work and back (20 miles round trip) on a 50-55mph road. The seating position is much closer to downhill mountain biking and dirt bikes and riding a bicycle with no hands which I can do for miles and miles, that I really think I'm leaning MT07. Plus the 2024 with bright teal wheels is really futuristic and cool looking imo.
Definitely 07 for me😛every day riding and comfort because I have had surgery in my back,so comfort is a must. Plus I just love the looks of naked bikes, they look so mean
OC: MT-07 for practicality AND it would be my first street bike. But I'm still unsure if I should take a cruiser instead as I feel like that's more my preferred riding style.
OC: Gotta pick the MT07. More comfortable ride and easily the better daily over the R7. As I do so much more commuting then technical riding. Being comfortable during that commute sees me arrive in a better mood. Rather than arrive and being kinda grumpy because my back is sore. Beside once you ride in the mountains doing some technical riding on a naked bike, you'll adjust to that upright position while in turns. So you'll still enjoy mountain riding on the MT07.
R7 because i want and need the fairings (both for the style and highway wind protection). It also lets me put a custom paint job & decals on it in the future. But what i'm really struggling with is R7 or Ninja 650. For city & country riding. THAT is the big question. I never considered Yamaha as a starter until the R7. R3 was too weak compared to a Ninja 650, but an R6 was too powerful / expensive. Extremely clever move by Yamaha to put a starter mid-tier bike, more powerful than the R3 but not as wild as the R6 (and reputedly the R7 has a much more linear power band just like the Ninja 650, making it easy to predict). The main remaining advantage to the Ninja 650 i think is that its supposed to be extremely comfortable even during long rides, and that the TFT is spectacularly good, i still dont know how the R7 stacks up in that regard.
R3 to ninja 650 for starters is a bad comparison, there is a ninja 400 in that category. Also this is not by personal experience but all the info i've gotten from TH-cam ninja650 is the most bland 650 class bike on the market. I know my preferance is only influenced by watching motovloggers talk about these bikes but in that regard i would have to go with the r7 if talking about supersports. Actually i propably would go test ride cbr650r and r7 and choose from those 2. If naked bike i would go definetly with street triple, i love the triumph triple so much for my needs.
I'm looking into getting another bike. Sold my R6 about 2 years ago due to some lower back issues i was having. Was really hard to ride for me than 20min due to the riding position so i sold it to a buddy. Now looking to get another one. I really wanted a race bike althoughi should stay away to save my back, but this video has convinced me to go with the MT 07.
MT-07 is hard to beat even when its compared to basically the same bike. Even with the R7 having a few higher grade components the MT-07 is king on the street. Plus the MT-07 is cheaper. I love mine I know that much.
I'm going to sign the papework for my MT07 tomorrow. Don't get me wrong... the R7 is a sexy bike and was making these same decisions over and over in my head. I'm not in my 20's anymore lol, so a sport bike that's a little more upright is the way to go. That, and the majority of my riding will be city/around town. Excited!! Now I just don't know what colour to get :)
O.C - id take the R7!! I currently own a Tenere 700 and a 2017 FZ10 the R7 would make for a great set of bikes!! Will have a bike for the twisties, one for exploring off road and one for comfortable rides for those longer twisty rides!! I ride my T7 90% of the time over my fz10 it’s such a fun bike to ride can’t wait till you ride one you’re gonna love it!!
Due to back pains I normally prefer the MT07 as it makes me sit upright and that position makes turn easily for me even tho I currently am rocking the Honda CBR500R.Thinking of the MTo7 or 9.
MT07, as a beginner, I don't dare to ride a R7. But it's an amazing looking bike as a standard. My MT-07 is going through a few changes to get the look I want
OC: I got the 21 MT-07 and am pretty happy with the bike! After doing a trackday with it the only thing thats bugging me a bit are the brakes. I already changed the brake pads but you still have to use a lot of force for hard braking. Also I feel like they dont give very clear feedback under hard braking and the ABS kicks in pretty early. But the ABS part is not really a problem with street riding. Im definitly going to do a testride on the R7 and see how it compares. Other then that i totally agree that the MT07 is really playful and great fun to ride!
MT-07 for sure, so much so I bought one. Living in East TN I get the best of both worlds being able to commute from the burbs to downtown, and on the same day head up to the mountains and hit the twisties. At 220lbs and 6"1' th MT-07 is so comfortable it was worth the downgrade from the ZX9 as it is an all in one and does all I need it to do while not needing a chopper to fly me out to the chiropractor.
very nice. I'm deciding between these 2 bikes and I live in the exact same area as you and also the same exact body type so think I'm beginning to lean more towards the MT-07 now myself. Maybe see ya out there sometime soon
I owned MT07 2018, I loved all of the things about it except the handlebar thats too short and it made the bike more havier. Unlike MT09 that more comptable.
I'm planning to get into riding and I think I'd take the mt07 cause of the better comfort and maybe (please dont stone me) put a windshield on it if you wanna going fast on a highway so your body isnt a big sail in the wind, if that even makes sense
OC: Next year is going to be expensive for me lol, I'm an enduro rider at heart so I got the WR450F coming but I also want to experience the sporty side so I will be getting the R7 as soon as they are available here in Germany, roads here are pretty fun and in 3 hours I can be on the Ring so that should be fun
I originally wanted a Mt-07 and ended up buying an R7. I wanted to go back to a sport bike, but didn’t make sense to buy a bike with 100+ HP that I’ll never use.
OC: I’m going with the MT-07. I’ve been looking for a first bike and don’t want the low power of a 300 but a 600 is a bit too much. Being a beginner on the MT-07 I would have much better balance, comfortably and being 5’ 6” a slightly lower seat height.
brand new rider havent takin my safty class yet its scheduled in July. I ordered the 22 MT07 for a couple reasons. 1st am going to be city riding 99% of the time. 2nd as an older person I want the more up right a nd comfortable seating position.
23:30 not really that controversial, every single youtube channel about bikes always picks the naked bike over faired bike, all the time, no matter what. lol
ex MT-07 rider here. I don't see the appeal of an aggressive sporty bike with the c2 engine in it. The r6 was impractical on the road but it was a fun screaming inline 4. The r7 is gonna get left by any inline 4 sport bike on a track or on the streets after 2nd gear. It also vibrates a lot and after 6k rpm the torque just isn't there. The MT07 is a great bike to learn on and have as a commuter if you work close to home. But on the weekend I'd be begging to ride anything else.
I love the r7 because mainly i ride for curves and track days but i also do a lot of streets riding on my same bike. I might just take my chances with the r7
@@bens6865 I came from a cbr300. It was heavier but now that I’m used to it it feels like a faster cbr300. It is a much more aggressive stance leaning over the gas tank though. But I don’t mind it. Corning is more fun and the low end is super torquey which is super fun. It’s an all around fun bike that looks like a race bike and feels like a race bike but it won’t scare you too bad when you give it throttle because the power isn’t even close to say an r6. How narrow it is is nice too. I’m 5’ 9” and my knees are tucked up but because the bike is so narrow it’s not uncomfortable for me
In my country (Germany), the R7 costs a few hudred less than a Z900, which i find absolutely ridiculous :D In comparison, the MT-07 costs around 2400$ (yes, you read right) less than R7 (which costs about 10880$) :D I don't know what they were smoking to price it this way, but i can see it flopping hard in Europe. The RS 660 costs about 200EUR more than the R7 here. I guess it makes a lot more sense in America, or Asia.
Whoa, the RS660 destroys everything else over there. In Australia the RS660 costs about US$4000 more than an R7. And a Kawi Z900 is even cheaper than an R7.

I'm not sure about you guys, but I'm pretty sure the designer was looking at someone wearing their jocks, with ther knob bulging out when they designed the MT07'S headlight.
From the last time you asked my mind has not change, I still prefer the MT - 07 simply because it is more practical for everyday use.

Nice, I bought a brand new 2021 as well. Already have almost 5k miles on it lol.
What did u pay? I am looking at one for $7400 and not sure if they will come down any.
The abs part is a spot on and it could cause one serious trouble if you aren’t a good rider

CBR650R = more relaxed position, 4 cylinders so its mellow in low revs and goes hard in high revs, opposite of high torque at low rpm of R7.
I was literally thinking the same thought
Yes, he should make such video, because it’s my question for the next season 🎉

@PhillHeslop So an R7...... 🤦
14:07 Chase doing a wheelie with cars crossing the road = noob mistake, even more when you don't control wheelies.
Agree, imagine some middle age Asian woman trying to enter the main road....
yeah, that made me cringe that beau kept it in the video.
He said sorry lol
Yeah it was bad timing but I’m glad he did it, I want to see what these bikes can do, just choose your moment better.
Hey what does buzzy mean?
@@dand8324 a buzzy vibration in the handle bars and feet pegs
I have an Fz10 which I love, still miss my Fz07 sometimes though!
OC I'm still think R7, but it only comes to windscreen and how beautiful of a bike it looks...
Didn't think much of the MT-07 until I actually saw it in the showroom and realized how gorgeous that bike is! I'm 6'2 200lbs so it was kind of on the smaller side for me but it was absolutely a pretty bike.
How do u feel on Ur cbr650r compared to mt07? Is there more room on honda?
@@Croth4r The seat height is about the same and I can flat foot both of them easily. But my CBR is about 55 pounds heavier and its frame is much wider. It also has a wider seat and a decent size pillion. So yeah I would say there's more room on the CBR.
The R7 with a flat bar conversion and slightly cut front fairing would be the best in between! Kinda like the Aprilia Tuono styling, more manufactures need to take that 'mid' approach!
nah i hope not. because this is not a ''mid'' approach. it's a more of a mislabeled bike. it's not a sport bike like the R6 it's just kusins with it. the R7 is a MT-07R . and while i do agree that full fairing versions of the naked bikes is a good thing that we do need. i also think that those bikes should at least not compromise comfort when they got a platform that falls flat on it's face when doing the stuff it's suppose to do. they don't need allot of power but they can't make 70hp and call it a day. i would not actually have anything against them doing something like a 90-100hp bike that revs a bit higher and can live up to the name. not against slower mid size bikes but just think that if you are gonna compromise the comfort then at least go all out and don't half ass it. or just don't build it as a full blown track bike in mind and rather do what they did before and just build a sporty touring bike like the FZ-6R you know something that is a bit more comfortable for daily use but still has fairings and the potential to go racing.
totally agree, i dont know why they do that.
That would be the return of the Fazer!
Just bought a brand new Mt-07 pure with the old raw and mean display. Can't wait for next season to start, no plates on it yet.
OC: Definitely the MT07, if you aren't on a track, the super sports riding position is just impractical...
I would offer the caviat of: I live in small town texas and it's a good 40 miles to any actual city for me. I have a handlebar bike and I've had Supersports,I currently also have a fz6r. The fairing definitely helps on the highway

now I like; the look, torque, specially the sound, and position of course.
Just bought an MT-07 2022. fantastic
Me and my wife own mt07 and we both love it. It is super easy to ride.
Only ever bike I had before was a gsx650f.
pump it man
I happen to have the tenere 700. Such a good motor. And not a bad road bike. Awesome dual sport and adventure bike!
I got a r3 too and I think the riding position is more aggressive on the r7.
Actually I got a r3 too and I've ridden r7 on Yamaha demo day, and yes, the sitting position on r7 way more aggressive. You should try it first.
I went into this video wanting the MT 07 as my first bike than half way through I was leaning towards the R7 but by the end of the video I am back to wanting the MT 07 as yous have described it to be a more comfortable ride
Same here dude I still want the mt07 as my first bike
Mt-07 is just hard to beat in just about any category. Bang for your buck. Nothing beats it. Fun factor= top of the line. might not be the best looking bike but its is just so much fun to ride that I can easly overlook that. Im buying a MT-09 but have really thought why not just save quite a bit and get MT-07?
The all black looks sweet.
I got a mto7 because in my opinion it just feels more Natural to sit on and actually is surprisingly comfortable and I loved the rims on it
I have the black ‘21 MT-07. Pros: Absolutely love it. Rides great, sounds great, looks great (with TST add-ons.)
Cons: ride position.
First of all well done on the video, I own the MT07 and love it,
Anyone wanting to get one just like mine please remember the akrapovic sound system, you're welcome
OC: For me, R7, I think it is gorgeous and resale would be easier. I’m 5’6”.
Resale wouldn't be easier tho.
Supersports tends to lose value faster than nakeds and mt07 has had the same resale value for yrs
OC: I wish they could offer an mt07 with r7 suspension...

I'm french and the r7 is not available in France now but i'll take the r7 with no hesitation, looks so amazing!!! 😍
Same here in UK. Naked bikes looks ugly tbh. R7 is a beauty.
OC - For me probably the R7 because it’s looks amazing and it’d be my first bike to ride and go cruising with friends. The MT-07 would be fun and comfortable but the R7 just does it for me. It wouldn’t be a primary vehicle but if I rode all the time then MT-07.
Exactly, my logic is a car is used for everyday use, a bike is for pleasure. Why not get the cooler more performance oriented bike?
@@elijahbowen1599 best response I’ve seen by far in these comment section
From an R1 to a decade on an R6, I swapped to the MT.. comfort and seat position, I just got tired of leaning over and our streets are terrible.
OC: MT-07 for practicality AND it would be my first street bike. But I'm still unsure if I should take a cruiser instead as I feel like that's more my preferred riding style.
6 mo later. This sole video helped me buy a MT-07. LOVE IT.
@@deanhodges2360 love the follow-through! 😍
OC: R7 cus looks, brakes and suspension. I have definitely been enjoying mine. No back aches for me either.
thats wassup glad you're enjoying it man

Choose btw cbr650 or naked trident 660
I'm looking into getting another bike. Sold my R6 about 2 years ago due to some lower back issues i was having. Was really hard to ride for me than 20min due to the riding position so i sold it to a buddy. Now looking to get another one. I really wanted a race bike althoughi should stay away to save my back, but this video has convinced me to go with the MT 07.
I have an R7. I love it.
The only bad thing, is it pushes my crotch onto the tank.
After an hour, it sucks.
Gave you a like specifically for the “I wouldn’t be so sure about that” graphic and music.
should have added xsr700 to complete the trio
Due to back pains I normally prefer the MT07 as it makes me sit upright and that position makes turn easily for me even tho I currently am rocking the Honda CBR500R.Thinking of the MTo7 or 9.
MT07, as a beginner, I don't dare to ride a R7. But it's an amazing looking bike as a standard. My MT-07 is going through a few changes to get the look I want
R7 is a solid bike for a beginner. Give yourself more credit
Same bike, different riding position...
Well that's what is missing in Chase channel... hard riding comparisons.
You should check the suspension set-up, it can help a lot
No, dude, I was not thinking ''how are they talking on the same channel?'' I was thinking ''shut up and get to the bikes.''
I honestly love the look of the R7. I bought the MT simply because of my age. I feel a little old to be on a sportbike.
for the price mt07. but for the looks, r7 forsure
I knew that’s how you got the camera car footage without ever seeing the camera car!!! Lol
Maybe see ya out there sometime soon
the audio you guys have is great, what are you using to be able to hear, talk, and record your conversations?
I owned MT07 2018, I loved all of the things about it except the handlebar thats too short and it made the bike more havier. Unlike MT09 that more comptable.
I'm planning to get into riding and I think I'd take the mt07 cause of the better comfort and maybe (please dont stone me) put a windshield on it if you wanna going fast on a highway so your body isnt a big sail in the wind, if that even makes sense
as someone who commutes on an MT07, ill tell ya, them freeways are fuggin WIIIIIIIIIIMMMMMMMMDY
The difference is also a massive liscence cost were I live. The MT07 is 630$/year and the R7 is 1830$/year
I love the R7 but I need the mt 07 because I love long tours and engine is same for both.
23:30 not really that controversial, every single youtube channel about bikes always picks the naked bike over faired bike, all the time, no matter what. lol
Mto7 all day long because I have a bad back but love your videos great job
that was the best way to do a comparison especially the last judgement, mt07 cause its more fun
Idk got a street triple neither one really seems all that interesting now.
Question ???: What's the gopro ur using 4 this video and what settings !?
Love the video btw keep it going 💪!!!
I would pick the r7, because i live in the mountains, and it's 15-20 minute ride, in to the city, and i also like the look a lot more.
I'm 5'7" with a 29" in seam...the MT07 is about the tallest I could go comfortably. With boots I am tip-toeing the bike but it is still comfortable.
I still love the MT line from yamaha
Can you guys do a passenger ergonomics on both bikes too please? I tend to realize not many vlogs do this.
Personally, the only bike I'd bring a passenger on would be a cruiser.
ex MT-07 rider here.
MT07 all day. I'm getting rid of my R6 for that bike an I know I won't be disappointed. Naked bikes are the way to go for the everyday rides.
the moment, when the indicator is running for a bit longer than planned 😂
I love the r7 because mainly i ride for curves and track days but i also do a lot of streets riding on my same bike. I might just take my chances with the r7
Just bought the r7 I like the back roads and I can’t wait to see how it feels
How did you like the r7?

This is good information ,thx
