- 6G TIG weld in the position can be very challenging and skill-demanding.
In this video, I will show you how to TIG weld 6G/facing down in position, with limited vision, and in a tight area.
This video gives the viewer a good insight into the challenges and difficulties that field welders face with.
For this type of weld, you will have to use all your skills, welding with both hands and using various techniques.

Good job on a tough weld. Retired now, spent 45yrs in the field. I had a fair few where I couldn't get a grinder in, if I missed a spot on the bead I'd back weld through the gap, not to code but they passed x-ray :)

Yup, that was a tight spot. Be careful and weld the top when your fresh bcause you don"t want a mistake in that spot. Impossible to fix and then the foreman will get real mad at you if you screw up this part.
Definitely a tight spot and you're definitely a good welder. But if you don't need a mirror there's tougher joints out there. That being said great job on that.
Thanks for your comment bud. Mirror doesn’t mean that joint is tougher or not. It’s just a helping tool for a welder who is maybe unable to weld that joint without using the mirror.
I'd like to see you try to weld in a cogen without one. Cut your way in and weld your way out sometimes 6rows deep 100% Rt. That joint of yours is awkward but not difficult you were even able to walk the cup on it.

You are a TIG animal. But... who puts this onto a drawing as FFW. I have designed and inspected gas piping systems for power stations and have no idea why someone would do that.
