From trash to treasure and what a pleasure ! Thanks for doing what you do sir, it is entertaining, instructional and has real value in the craftsmanship displayed. I really enjoy the fact that you restore a good many castings I have never seen before. I was a Matchbox collector from an early age, but many of the other English and European manufactures were rarely if ever seen. (1960's) I was always overjoyed to find even a very common Corgi or other foreign brand. I loved the Corgi's because of the jeweled headlights on some castings. In any event my friend, I am always delighted to see another's work, to compare to my work, if I'm honest lol. You have a nice eye.
Thank you very much my kind friend for your nice comments and I like very much that you enjoy my videos, I remember as a kid getting the Corgi Ford 5000 tractor as a present and putting it on the bedside table with the light on just looking at the jeweled headlights until I fell asleep lol. I love that Spot-on Bedford Ice cream van Nick, it's a beauty, that's pretty special to have. I'm pleased you like the models and tractor parts I brought over, I couldn't remember exactly what I'd put in the box so it was good to watch the video. I thought there was a Fordson Major with a tipping trailer in there plus a Dinky Standard Vanguard but I mustn't have put them in. Some really nice donations from David too, I think you're going to be busy for a few weeks now. It's great that you found the original box for the bus you had as a child. Nice lot of castings. If you press oon the rear suspension of the Spot On tonibell ice cream van (side to side you find the ice cream sell actually bend towards the window to hand out the ice cream
Missing headlights and broken front bumper quite common on them
Ah cool, I will go and have a play with it later lol, luckily it’s only the bumper tip that’s broken so shouldn’t be too difficult to repair👍😊🐸🐸

Nice collection Nick, I reckon the reason why those diecasts are so cheap are because they haven't had to licence the product, hence why they are not sold or badged as a particular make and model. Same with what you rightly recognise as a Mercedes Benz, they have left off the bonnet badge. Take care mate, see you on the next one..

Hi there Nick just watch the purchases and donations video you're saying on the spot on Tony Bell ice cream van it had a tax disc in the window and also the Routemaster bus to get the stickers off use lighter fluid that's the best way to get them off. once again a great video Nick keep up the good work.

Thank you Ralph, yes I want to maybe leave the tax disc on the ice cream van, although I do have a couple of new old ones I could use, I have used the lighter fluid trick before but I don’t think these stickers will be too difficult to get off the bus but I will try that if they don’t, cheers for that😊👍 All the best, Nick🐸🐸

1955 Chevrolet Nomad, that pale green pull-n-go - looks quite accurate, too. The dark red one is a BMW 501. I think the red pickup's a Ford F100 and the blue one's a Chevrolet. No graphics on any of these probably because the manufacturer has not paid the licence fees to use the name. The wee tractor's lovely!
The Britains Gun seems to have a cast diff in the axle, suggesting it may have been a driven trailer, but there's no propshaft in evidence - is that something missing or a casting error? Or am I misreading the casting?
The Trojan is a great entry-level restoration model - you'll enjoy that! Great detail on the casting. If your Gramp's car had a white roof, it was probably a Cooper! I have one of those RR Wraiths and it is complete, including the Spirit of Ecstasy: I'm not touching it!

Thank you for all the info Fraser, the casting of the gun axle looks as if it’s like that just for the sake of the model, nothing missing or broken, I don’t think it’s meant to replicate anything real, I could be wrong though🤔 The Trojan van I already have is in the Dunlop livery, I don’t want to touch that one as it is too good so this one will be a bit of fun to do instead. My Grandfathers mini was just the Austin seven mini, it had it in chrome on the back, and the badge on the front, it was a very light grey all over.
Don’t think I’ve seen a RR wraith unrestored that has the Spirit of Ecstasy intact!
