    Is director Hidemaro Fujibayashi responsible for the Timeline as we know it and Breath of the Wild's confusing Timeline mess? And will it all be solved in Breath of the Wild 2 with the biggest climax in the series? RUN DEBATE!

      tha was a very awsome video , though i have certain theories to tell about breath of wild placement in time line
      now when it come to ocarina of time , it is said that it has a diffrent ending which happen in down fall time line when link is defeated by ganondorf , but in which point of time did that happen , some people say it is when ganondorf did his transformation with triforce of power to fight link , but i heard a theory say that is on that cutscene when ganon attack child link with magic attack , leaving link injured and defeated , with zelda watching while impa is taking her away , and than use ocarina of time sending link to a point of time where he is safe , which could be why he had that dream of seeing ganon before navi is waking him up to see deku tree , which makes down fall time line probably zelda original time line
      also when aonuma were asked about breath of wild place in the time line he said :
      I wouldn't say that it obviously fits into any one part of the timeline, but if you play the game, you'll be able to work out where it fits. As you probably saw in the trailer, the most recent trailer, there's a woman's voice, and she says: "The history of the royal family of Hyrule is also the history of the Calamity Ganon." And as you know, the Zelda series, up until now, is a history of repeated attacks by Ganon. So, there's food for thought there. I don't want to say anything more as I'd like players to work it out for themselves, to play the game and see what they think."
      waypoint.vice.com/en_us/article/a-conversation-with-zelda-veteran-and-breath-of-the-wild-producer-eiji-aonuma
      means that the game takes place in a branch of the timeline where Ganon attacks several times. In both the Child and Adult timelines, Ganon only attacks once, leaving only the Fallen Hero timeline. Another big tell is that in the Downfall timeline, Hyrule is in a constant state of rising to a glorious golden age only to be demolished by the resurgence of Ganon. This fits exactly into what happens during the events of BotW. Lastly, only in the Fallen Hero timeline is the complete Triforce consistently held by the Royal Family , we see the complete Triforce used by Zelda at the climax of the storyline
      but that's just a theory , and thank you for this awsome video

      If Breath of the Wild 2 is the result of all the timelines converging, and if time travel becomes an option (either through gameplay elements or just for story purposes), I hope that in the final battle of the game, BotW Link becomes overwhelmed by BotW Ganondorf, but then several other past Links come to aid BotW Link in the final climatic showdown

      A fitting conclusion would this Link and Zelda traveling time, or spirit planes, to embrace every other incarnations skill and knowledge. All this, forged in their love for each other, slay the monster once in for all. Systematically work your way through time killing Ganon at each major milestone, taking his power for Links. Once Link has all Ganon's power, you release Demise from the sword and kill him too. Then Link and Zelda get married and have cute babies.

    I love the Legend of Zelda Universe. Talking theory in this universe gives me the same feeling of when we were all talking theories about Shadow of the Colossus. The game has that eerie feeling to it. Breath of the Wild at least gives me that feeling, wandering in a world that is a shadow of itself. Exploring ruins of a once thriving civilization…especially when I came across Castletown, recalling what it was once like.

He realized the cycle was starting again, contacted the royal family, and tried to stop the curse TOGETHER! And that's why you see a hero with long RED hair... But then something went wrong. And the curse took over GANONDORF. And fail safes were activated and he was sealed with that hand.. and that is why he was able to take control of the guardians the and the Devine beasts the second time around.. because he already knew about them...

      I have a darker theory to add on: what if instead of them trying to work together, the hyrule family and the sheikah saw this opportunity (when ganondorf came to them) to capture ganondorf and use him as a power source for hyrule. They put all the malice into ganondorf and hid him away under the castle to convert him to energy, but the malice got too strong and the sheikah understood this before he blew up, so they prepared. Ganondorf, still captivated, had to live on through calamity ganon. This would also explain why the yiga refuse to utilize the technology the sheiks have

    • @elitegamer9310
      @elitegamer9310 4 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Well, I can see why Ganondorf would do that. Ganondorf isn't exactly evil, it's just that his hatred for the Hylians and Demise's curse leads him down the path of a villain. But this theory just doesn't seem right. Ganondorf's character has always had one key trait, he is a megalomaniac. Ganondorf is obsessed with power, it's his main driving force. In Ocarina of Time, he wanted to take over Hyrule for his people but in the end, he kept the Guerodo in the desert while he oppressed the other races. In Wind Waker, he wanted to bring back Hyrule and possibly rebuild his tribe, but he wanted to rule it all. All over Ganondorf's plans ideals, no matter how noble they are, are about him obtaining power. I don't think it's in Ganondorf to want to remove himseld from the cycle when it already gives him power over dark magic. Also, it couldn't be Ganondorf in the tapestry because this hero is wielding the Master Sword, which can only be wielded by Link and Zelda.

    • @elitegamer9310
      @elitegamer9310 4 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      @@ashykinz5162 Here's my theory: The royal family of Hyrule knew about the curse, or at least they noticed the pattern of a princess and a hero fighting together to save Hyrule. When they hear that a new Gerudo male has been born, they realize that Hyrule will soon enter a period of conflict again. To prevent this, they wait until Ganondorf became an adult and had the Shiekah deal with him. They lure Ganondorf into a trap, and force him into a state of mummification, while at the same time harnessing the power of his soul to keep him weak. This leads to them extracting his spirit energy to create their technology, advancing the kingdom to heights never seen before and creating the Guardians to defend the kingdom.

    There isn't, and never will be, a better video game villain than Ganondorf... I really don't think that the series will have a huge "closure" or anything like it, however this second game will tell the story that will start new conventions and new things happening for the future. Making this new game the final battle between Ganon/Ganondorf/Demise vs Link and Zelda would be crazy since there is so much potential for this "battle" to scale up. I could argue that the battle existed always, even before Demise's time, it just wasn't well established as three key players. I believe this game will just be the intro to the new things happening and conclude what BotW missed; they'll explore and add new lore, create an even better gameplay aaaaaaaaand, most importantly, make everyone in the community really happy (I'm so anxious to see new trailers or just new info regarding the development of this game that damn... can't hold it anymore...)

    The MAIN thing I really want is for them to explore the lore, and do it well. Let’s be honest, they just sorta let the fans decide the lore and how X got to Y and why Z is ALSO there. I’d also love a bit of fan service, sorta like the amiibos in BOTW, but hopefully NOT behind a paywall. I think I trust Fujibiyashi, though, and I hope the story is everything we hope it to be.

    They kinda said all of that in not so many words. They mention that the curse placed by Demise was broken so that Ganon could have more power and finally win. Meaning that no matter what this conflict is for keeps. Their is no reincarnation for any of them, the natural end to the Legend. The creators have outright said this is the end of all timelines. You could take that as some Dragon Break equivalent or that no matter what timeline events happen this final struggle was destined to happen.

    BOTW 2 being an the Epilogue of the Zelda Story... I don't think so, at least not yet. Maybe if they knew they were going to do a sequel in the storyboarding phase.

    I’m hoping that in BOTW 2, Link gets tasked to travel back in the time and fix the timeline. For example he travels to Ocarina of Time and interacts with that era’s Link and Zelda. Once fixed he would then have to interact in A Link to the Past and so forth. By fixing the time line he is able to merge “fix” the timeline which allows him to finally destroy Ganon and lift the curse.

    In my opinion, there is no big secret to how or why BoTW ends up being placed at the end of all timelines. I think they took an artistic license to add as much as they wanted to without their hands being tied because of the “Timeline”, so they did what they wanted (and the result was stunning), and slapped it at the end. To me, it was a great idea, there are still games that can be put in other Timelines, and now they have created a new one by putting BoTW at the end. The possibilities are endless where they can go from here. They literally created a way to keep the series going forever by merging all the timelines.

    7:36 Unless you bring in Hyrule Warriors where the timelines are quite literally merged because of that alternate reality equal of Ganon.
    But seriously, it would explain how so many aspects were inter-connecting.
    The Yiga are like the “Ninja” clan of Termina who they themselves mirror the Interlopers/Twili of Twilight Princess. It would explain how tales of the Terminian Goron Chiefs made it to Hyrule (outside of Link spreading their stories). Etc.
    Also i’m now starting to wonder if the Lokomo had any inspiration from the sheikah given their technological know-how which helped evolve their world as well.

    And in the Zelda universe, there is the enigmatic Goddess of Time that was mentioned in Majora's Mask, who also governs time in Hyrule (and Termina, apparently).

    Calling it now - Ganondorf's redemption. You keep using the term "Magnum Opus" rather appropriately. because it applies to creative depictions of Jungian Individuation, which are completely the norm in Japan. But OoT alone is not a Magnum Opus, it's merely one small part of it - the entire Zelda canon. This isn't the ending, it's the end of "phase 2", where "phase 1" concluded with OoT. There are four phases to individuation (although commonly interpreted as three). The franchise being Jungian would fit the timeline split really well with being a depiction of the three different paths a person can take when faced with the challenge of individuation. They can fight the shadow with zeal, but the more pious they become, the more the shadow becomes a demon (Downfall Timeline). They can bury or outright destroy their shadow, but it will return with a new face once again (Adult Timeline). Or they can attempt to empathize with the shadow, leading to dark revelations and questions. (Child Timeline). Suddenly the placement of FSA with its empathetic Ganondorf makes a whole lot of thematic sense, right?
    "What is hidden in the darkness... Tricks full of ill will... You can't see the way forward..." - Wall in the Shadow Temple, perfectly describing the "Dark night of the soul" when a person encounters the shadow in their psyche. In the previous dungeon, Link had fought his shadow in a highly symbolic mirror pond with a tree. In the child timeline, that same location is where Lanayru warns Link about the Interlopers (depicted as shadow Links) and the fused shadow.

    BotW is the end of the Downfall timeline; The original Zelda games.
    There are no timeline splits. There are alternate parallel realities. You can't have 3 different outcomes in the single timeline. Either Link defeated Ganon or died (Downfall Timeline). He can't do both at once. Link either went back into the past and erased the future by stopping Ganondorf (Child timeline) or he stayed in the future and lived out his life there (Adult Timeline). He can't have done both. The concept of a timeline split refers to game develop.

    • @porcubot
      @porcubot 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Literally what the dragon break was is multiple outcomes of multiple realities at the same time. It's a central part of Elder Scrolls lore to reconcile different endings of a game.
      There's no reason the same thing can't happen in the Zelda universe. There are no rules.

    • @akumathelion535
      @akumathelion535 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@porcubot Elder Scrolls ain't Legend of Zelda. Dragon Break is nonsensical bs even in ES series. And even then there isn't anything as distinctive like No Hyrule at all moving forward in the Adult and a striving Kingdom (Downfall/Child). BotW is firmly in the Downfall timeline. There is no ambiguity. It only fits in the Downfall Timeline.

  • @leomuricy

    Ever since I saw the teaser for botw 2 with the hand pressing Ganondorf right at the location of his stabbing from TP I've come to believe they decided to consider this game as child timeline but with Easter eggs from the other timelines. After all, it's been so many years in the timeline that changes similar to the other games may have happened, but I don't think for example that it would be possible for a part of Rito from adult timeline to revert back to being zoras after their evolution. Besides, "new Hyrule" shouldn't have aspects from the old Hyrule from before Ocarina of time

  • @dtcoas
    @dtcoas 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    I wasn't aware of what a Dragon Break was. I think it's a clever addition to the Zelda universe. But it also saddens me that, without a greater explanation, it invalidates the continuity of all the previous games (it suggests all the previous games are flawed retellings from the BotW era, and inconsistencies between the previous games and BotW are due to the stories being legends handed down over 10,000 years). But my hope is that Nintendo treats BotW like a soft reboot and there will be many more Zelda games to come in the future. I don't want it to end. The Zelda franchise is the Shakespeare of gaming.

    Could Hylia be the goddess of time? I mean, Hylia gave up her divinity to reincarnate as Zelda, who taught Link the Song of Time in both OoT and MM. Perhaps the fourth piece of the triforce ceased to exist once Hylia was no longer a goddess, but it's still included in the shield design by the humans Hylia saved in the intro to Skyward Sword. Why would they make a game that’s the end of the game’s storyline? I’m sorry just makes no sense. Even if they can add stories in between it still limits them story wise but also would limit sales on future titles. Think of it this way:
    *New Zelda Players:* ooo! I love BotW I’m so glad I tried it!
    *Nintendo:* BotW/BotW2 are the last game in the story
    *New Zelda Player:* WHAT!?! Oh well there goes my new favorite series
    We all know that BotW created so many new Zelda fans gamers and non-gamers so it just really wouldn’t make any sense to turn a lot of their newer players away. It could too easily be misinterpreted to be the last game period and newer fans who aren’t hardcore gamers or just play with their children, or even the younger kids they’ll just forget thinking it was the last game in the series.

    Never understood why LoZ:OoA/OoS were recently moved from their original timeline placement to AFTER LoZ:LA. At the end of a linked game on LoZ:OoA/OoS, Link leaves the respective land(s) via a boat that is remarkably similar to the one seen at the beginning of LoZ:LA. Also, considering that Link faces Ganon at the end of both LoZ:ALttP and LoZ:OoA/OoS, it would make sense that Link is traumatized and "scared" to face him again, which is why the Nightmares at the end of LoZ:LA take on the form of Ganon in order to prey upon Link's fears!
