Cheers! We found looking and dreaming about boats alot more fun than actually purchasing one. It was hard not to get emotional when turning a dream into a reality. We are super lucky though, everything turned out for the best. -sam
love the process you guys put in place, ok so Charlie won by stealth, albeit unknowingly lol. yes it came with highs and lows, but absolutely a win win in the end. We are about to embark on a not so dissimilar quest, house hunting for our seachange and this video has given us a great incite on how to manage that journey. cheers Frank from, you guessed it, Sydney
Thank you! We made a sheet with our criteria and scored all the boats on how we presonally thought they met that criteria and it let us see the boats and what they offered us. Sam's favorite was the Outremer, my favorite was the Morelli&Melvin and we both really liked Emma for what she offered the family, we ended up with the perfect boat for us and are really happy with her. It was a whirlwind of a boat search especially with pulling out of the first catamaran due to the survey report. House hunting would be the same! Hope everything goes smoothly with the house hunting and you have a smooth transition!Thank you for your comments, we really enjoying reading them! Cait
Thank you!! We believe it was meant to be, fate has a mysterious way of working and all three of the boats were our favourites so we are stoked with the Crowther. The outremer we call 'the Unicorn'🦄 because it's not too often you see one come up on the market and they are well sought after boats.
I don't like my plans being changed, and it took me a bit to adjust to a new master plan for our lives (sam). This isn't the best trait in a cruising sailor as the worst thing you can have on a boat is a calender so the whole experience was good for me.
Hi, found ur channel via Vern (Learning by Doing - Ep232), pays to network. Designing my own Ali-cat (similar to explor/mumby), thought I'd come check urs out. Whilst I knew u have the Ali, this vid was confusing, until I realised what was happening. Great seeing the rollercoaster, don't see to many channels showing that, apparently its real easy, just see a boat & buy it. Side note - Don't know if u guys also lived in/near Nerang, we owned 5acres in Gaven.
Yes we have family in Nerang! Love the area, and was great to have family in the area that we could stay with during the whole boat buying process! The best part we think is looking ar boats online and then when you start looking and ready to buy it gets a bit more complicated because every boat and system is different and finding out what you want / like in a boat! -Cait
@@sailingwiththejamess Been there, done that, buying someone else's usually unmaintained problems, old equipment, etc. That's why I'm designing my own, from all the great ideas I discover on YT, build it in Philippines.

Thanks for sharing this process. Its great to see your resilience in the face of adversity.

Awesome video guyz. I hope it all works out in the end
Cheers, I'm sure it will
Very cool
Too bad the others fell through. The family boat might be meant to be.
It had some important security and safety features on the deck for Charlie :)

YAY🎉🎉🎉🎉 WHEN DO YOU KNOW IF YOU HAVE THE BOAT???
Sad that all the others fell through
Super sad but everything happens for a reason so it will all work out for the best
Great content
Lovely family❤
Cheers jab from my family to yours.
We had to pull out of a contract due the survey once. Restarting the search and trying to find a boat is sometimes tough❤❤

i'm glad you ended up with what seems like a great boat that fits your needs!
Thank you! We are so happy we picked Shining Lighy, she really is our shining light 💛💛
