Thank you! She's a well built boat and the previous owners had her built and had a family with two small kids when they first moved onboard so there's some extra safety items that we love, like the solid lifeline rails and the gates leading down to the sugar scoops.
Thank you! We love that Charlie has a room that she can grow into and have plenty of space for books/toys. We really love this boat, super excited to be living on it, definitely a dream come true. We will be doing a more in-depth tour down the road in the future! Thabk you for watching, we greatly appreciate it 🙏 🙌
Cheers Sanpoi, Cait is definitely comming round to the shower idea. At this stage we are going to live aboard for a bit first before any major changes.
Awesome boat guys! Looks like you did really well with moving. We moved in the rain once and had to time the downpours. Best of luck with the unpacking!
Cheers Emma, we were fully bummed about the rain but it worked out OK in the end. I'd rather be a bit wet than super hot anyway and the local rain radar was good.
@@sailingwiththejamess good you guys had a van in case it rained. Love the interior, can't wait to see what you guys do with it. I think just a toilet in the main hull, no shower.
@svennyvenny744 we thought a quick tour would be great to show everyone! She's a gorgeous boat, plus we also want to get opinions on having a 'toilet only' Or 'toilet & shower' in the Master hull We will definitely be doing another indepth tour in the future when she is finished 🙌
Are you still at The BoatWorks? We were there looking at a few boats this past week. We will be back this coming week, would love to catch up for a cuppa
Hey Brad, We are at the boatworks but we are only here until Monday. We have decided to postpone our major works for a bit so there isn't much point staying here any longer. Message us if you come here tomorrow and we would be keen to catch up.
Cheers! Bugger about the seasickness. Dont feel to bad, everyone gets seasick to various degrees, when is real rough I get tired which is a form of seasickness. I do feel for the people that get horribly ill though.
Cheers, yes our plan is to make the outside shower have hot and cold water. I do agree (sam) that 2 showers is enough. I do plan to put in a basin but at this stage that is it.
Thank you, she's even more beautiful in person ❤️ Two toilets is ideal, especially with a growing family🙌 Thank you for watching, greatly appreciated 😊
Thank you! Looks like your boats works is coming together really nicely!! We will be doing our topside in the near future, you did really well with the non-skid. When is launch? We would love to meet you guys out there, come on over for a cuppa any day!
Its a lovely boat you can grow with. First big improvement extend the cocpit bridge deck to protect from the weather and insects....especially mosquitos and noseeums.. fit the same mesh over all hatches and vents or you will be eaten and bit ... Thats a growing and spreading problem. Also you want to be able to use that rear cockpit in all weathers and climes. More roof means more room for solar. 😊 And if its rigid you can work on the main boom more easilly.
Yes I completely agree 👍. I wasn't sure where to bring it to with regards to access to the winches, vision, height of boom so I have put it off until the end of winter. I was thinking of making a frame and putting the solar panels in them, joining them with silicone and making that the roof. It has been done on the tiger bar so I'll see how it works anyway
@@sailingwiththejamess Live with what you have ...find out what works for you and what you want to change... Then look at what other people have done and other manufacturers... Polish friends on sail Oceans went through this with their prototype Neal 61trimeran.... They extended their roof aft and in width ..fitted drop down canvas sides with mesh windows and weather shades and moved winches and clutches to reduce the strains and rubbing of sailing especially under pressure from high winds .. Big good anchors and plenty of chain and scope are worth their wt ... especially in storms or strong tides. Image searches are hou friends as are boat tours and sales tours ..but it helps if you know the names and keep to the same hull material types.. Al all the way and insulate as and where required also think about moving around or been thrown around in bad weather.
Cheers Clive, will do. At this stage I've just had to strip down the outboard to get it going, we've been boat bound for like 3 days. There is hammer in the water pump which is my next project now I have a tender I can go ashore and get a pump to pump up the accumulator and see if that fixes it. The boat is keeping us busy lol
@@sailingwiththejamess Sounds like living in a standard Edwardian / victorian terraced house ..except it can be the neighbours taps and valves triggering the water hammer 😂 If it doesnt you can try limitting the pump pressure or fitting a section of less rigid plastic water pipe in the system with a coiled loop to limit the vibration .🤔🤞🏼 Like the feed pipe to a washing machine fill valve.which can also trigger water hammer if the pressures high.
I said what and how below ..but you will need to insulate all those exposed Al ribs and frames to stop thermal bridging and condensation forming and ruining your headlinings.
I may be missing a message because I'm not sure what and how. It has foam insulation throughout but not on the main beams. I was planning on trimming foam to the stringers and then leaving the beams exposed? Is that a bad plan, what if I used a foam lined vinyl over them or something?
Love the tour. IMO a third shower might be overkill and the space could be used better for other tools and equipment onboard. Question: a queen bed is only a few inches shy of being square, so why can't you use the same bedding but tuck one side in instead of the end, leaving the opening/pillows sideways from the conventional way so that you don't have to climb over each other to get out of bed? and, I'm not familiar with catamarans, do you have to always be conscious of keeping the weight/storage even in the 2 hulls? BTW, I don't care which bed you give me if I can come for a sailing trip.
Thank you!! We have been thinking about the forward area and on the fence about a shower in there. It'd a really good idea about the bed, we immediately tried it after reading this and out feet overhang by a little bit, you're on to something, could add a bit at the edge to extend the mattress🙌 Catamarans don't take the weight like monohulls do and if there's too much weight it will affect performance which will affect fuel efficiency and time to get place to place😊 Summer took lots of weight and it never affected her performance🤗 There is a guest cabin onboard! We are going into Winter so the weather is beautiful up north ✨️ would love to have you guys💛💛
