Indeed, totally agree with you. We have looked at many crowthers and we love the flare in the bows as well. We meet a lot of people during our search phase and even met some people who met Lock and worked with him. 💙 Lovely to see new faces on our channel! Hope you are enjoying the videos!🩷 -Cait
I have a love/hate relationship with bunnings, always seem to spend more time in there vs getting the job done. Pays to have some cloth nappies as backup. Looks like you didn't need to tow the trailer.
Hahaha yes we didn't need the trailer at all. I looove bunnings sooo much. When caits family came to visit for the first time I took her father Peter there as it is one of my favourite places. I have to stay clear of there now days as I'm trying to keep to a budget and that place is my criptonite. I can't visit without buying a few new toys lol. -sam
WONDERFUL NEWS guys! We had a 44ft crowther previously and LOVED her. Locke Crowther was ahead of his time with the designs. You won't be disappointed with a crowther. When will you guys move onboard? Was that all your stuff in the ute?
We love the look of the crowther and look forward to finding out how she performs. Yes that was most of our stuff In the ute but we aren't positive when we will be moving abroad, fingers crossed it is soon lol.
Stolked that it looks like it may work out for you this time. Good luck with the survey and test sail. I hope it all goes well for you. I am also a firm believer in fate, all sailors have there Spidey seances.
Cheers, we hope it works out aswell. We are super excited and cant wait to get out there again. yes spider scences is a good way to put it, they have helped me out heaps in the past. I just wish that i have always listenedto them because i have a few storieswhen i should have but didnt lol.
@@sailingwiththejamess We hope moving onto her goes well. we are goig to be heading north soon and up to lizard is. this season. What are ur crusing plans after you move on? Would love to have you guyz over for a cuppa if we are ever in the same anchorage
So happy you guys have a boat! Shining Light was my favourite out of the three, can't wait to see you guys back out on the water..Charlize has grown so much from your first video! How did the delivery go of Endless Summer?
We had a Crowther, they are THE BEST. Does she have the typical crowther flare on the bow? You guys wont be disappointed with a crowther - i may be biased as we had one. What hull design # is she?
Yes the age old question when is enough enough lol. We found that our minimum length for a cat would be 40ft due to their potential to hobbie horse. We also wanted to have good fluids as we are a family and will be travelling far afield. I studied the ocean crossing times reported in the arc rally and noted that one of the biggest factors was not make or model but size and I want to encourage my family to stay sailing as long as possible with the ocean passages being the least appealing part of the journey. There is many other factors but they are the main ones
@Sailing with the James’s What were some of your other requirements? We will be looking soon for a liveaboard for our family, would be great to learn from you guys.
-We wanted to have easy access to the water -ability to launch the tender in most conditions -to not have to crawl over each other to get out of bed in the middle of the night -ability to fully enclose cockpit -good life lines for our little one -potential to make the vessel single handed sailing. There was many more and our wish list was huge but with every boat there is always compromise and for me it's how she feels aswell
Good question! She never officially listed for sale, we got to see her before she hit the market. All three of our favorites, the Outremer 55, the Morrelli & Melvin, and the Crowther were all technically 'off market'. If you speak to the brokers they will have catamarans that are coming up for sale and we have found that a lot get sold before ever hitting the market. Whereabouts are you located and where are you looking?
@@sailingwiththejamess Thanks for the quick reply! I figured that's what had happened in your case. We are currently located in Colombia (Western Caribbean) but have been trying to search much broader. Unfortunately many of the boats I'm interested in are located in your part of the world and I think you really need to have "boots on the ground" to snap up the deals before they go live so to speak!
Yes, in our experience having boots on the ground is the only way to go. I'm not positive that you will find great deals so to speak but you will definitely have more choices. Good luck with your search.
Far and few between and when they do pop up they don't stay on the market for long. They are great boats, very strong, great speeds, we are very happy with our girl and would go alloy all over again. - Cait
Mmmm myself and cait are still debaiting this one lol. The cheap tarp got us through but is now ruined where the expensive tarp will live to tarp another day.
Excellent hope it works out for you 👍
Brett Crowther is mate of myself and my Brother although I'd say this was the work of his dad
Fingers crossed
Cheers Mal, she is an 85 mk2, not sure which crowther is the designer but she looks niice and we can't wait to take her out and see what she can do.
Hey dear family. Lot of congratulations. Have a safe travels always. Weather is awesome keep enjoying. Have a happy weekend
Cheers my friend, have a happy weekend from my family to yours
Lock Crowther designed, he was among the best.

Sailing is so fun
Hahaha cheers Nick. We find it's not just the sailing itself but also the life style that comes with it. Thank you for your kind words 🙏

Nice❤❤❤❤❤😊
Cheers mate, we appreciate the support
Thank you!! She is a beauty and we are looking forward to have many many adventures on her

It didn’t look like to much stuff to me. When I move I need a massive truck. Have you already done your survey on your new boat?
Yes we have and this one has passed lol

That would be great. We don't have firm plans as it depends on how much work we will do. Should be heading to at least airlie beach though.
Can’t wait to see the new boat and all of the work you guys will be doing! Congratulations.
Cheers, Pac Star, we will hopefully be seeing you soon.
When ever we move we always end up with more stuff that re realised lol. Just remember that you have to keep your weight down in a catermeran.
Cheers for that Joseph, as a family we always struggle to keep the weight down and what to prioritise as most important lol
Well done guys! You guys packed up your boat so fast 😅 it would take me weeks, with all of that storage on Summer 😂
We had a mission to get back to the Gold Coast in time to see Shining Light get hauled out for Survey 🤗
So happy you guys have a boat! Shining Light was my favourite out of the three, can't wait to see you guys back out on the water..Charlize has grown so much from your first video! How did the delivery go of Endless Summer?
Delivery went great 👍 we had a ripper of a sail ⛵️. I know Charlie is growing up way to fast if you ask me (sam).

Hi Emma, she is a 85 mk2. Glad to hear all the good reports. 👍
Good on ya guys, great to see you have a boat. Why did you want something so big?

Aluminum catamarans are hard to find which is what I want

How did the tarp experiment go? Cheap or expensive work better?
Mmmm myself and cait are still debaiting this one lol. The cheap tarp got us through but is now ruined where the expensive tarp will live to tarp another day.
