Nice one guys i bought 40ft steel yawl in Perth 2006 lost that one to covid in Borneo currently crusing the Philippines in my new to me 402 gibsea . Financed it doing FIFO from time to time. Your in for a fantastic trip if you head up this way have fun.
Thats rad! This is great encouragement, can't wait to get up north; good motivation to hammer FIFO shifts and get this boat liveaboard ready! Have fun in the Philippines, and thanks for reaching out. Happy sailing ⛵️
I saw that you want to bring the boat from Canarvon to Perth in a week. That's a very tight schedule and to me it looks you cannot make any stops along the way even with favourable winds. I also saw you want to live in Rockingham. Very nice place, I live there too and I have a 27 ft long-keeler sailboat in the Madurah MOFSC marina, very friendly place with a great bar and restaurant and only 30 min from Rockingham. Walking around the marina, it looks like there are quite a few empty 12 m pens, but I do not think you can live on your boat permanently. I think the only marina that lets you do that is Fremantle. Anyway, good luck with it all!
Hi Hugo! Thanks so much for reaching out! Our videos are a touch behind, we actually managed to make the trip south to Rockingham, with a 3 day break in Geraldton. We looked into Fremantle, but it's full. Currently on a mooring ball for the summer at Mangles Bay. We were looking at Mandurah just last week actually, for winter. I wondered if they'd let us stay on the boat since we will be working FIFO, and only there a week per month. Nice, do you get out much sailing? Mandurah seems like a super nice spot!
