Doug, I watch nearly everyone of your videos. The reviews I usually watch before bed as I can rely on voice and sound quality being consistent. With that said, I watch your other - just talking - and pod every time. Personally those are my favorite, weird bc I’m the furthest thing away from a car enthusiast. I own an R1T and before that a Honda accord. With all this being said - keep doing you. The reason I keep watching is I know your opinion is truly yours and I enjoy your nonchalant approach. Love you guys, don't change a thing.
re: Giulia QV, some points about what the guys said: (1) the production HAS ended last year for North America at least so after June 2024 no one can order one; (2) As far as the numbers, the Giulia QV is much rarer than the C4 Corvette Doug analogized to. GM produced 358,180 C4 Corvettes over the 12-year model run. Meanwhile, there were ever only 3000 Giulia QVs in North America (and not a ton more globally) so the C4 Corvette guys outnumber Giulia QV Alfisti by a lot. (3) Filippo said QV was not "era-defining" but it is unclear what this means. What about being the fastest 4-door sedan at Nurburgring? In fact, even today, 9 years since that record was set (and subsequently beaten by others), the Giulia QV is still the 8th fastest 4-door and holds the 10th fastest laptime. Is being a "baby Ferrari" and a better handling than the M3 not helpful in defining the segment? Look at the Throttle House's review for context on what Giulia QV is capable of. Anyway, love the channel and please review the car again, you won't be disappointed.

Rich people stick together, and those who don't stick together don't enjoy their wealth in public and use their "poor costume" to stay comfortable in their social circle. As the owner of a limited production “50 Years of the 550 Spyder Edition Boxster S”, of which Porsche built 1953, to commemorate the first year of 550 Spyder production, I find this topic interesting. I must admit, I enjoy seeing the production number plate, I own #310, on my Boxster’s “batwing” in front of the manual shifter.
I enjoy all of your new, used, exotic, unusual car reviews especially on cars I'v never heard of or will ever purchase as most of the cars you review I can't afford Also I was curious on where you get all fo the state license plates.
Doug slightly misunderstood Yoshi's question. The guy didn't ask to generally describe the epoch, but to name a specific type of vehicle that the decade is famous for. I believe the 2000s was the era of offroad crossovers like the original Cayenne/Touareg, Mercedes-Benz W164/X164, Jeep Grand Cherokee WK2, Land Rover Discovery 3, etc. The 2010s are famous for early EVs like Leaf, i-MiEV, early Model S and Model 3. The 2020s are famous for big ol honking offroaders with 35-37 inch tires like Bronco, F150 Raptor 37, Wrangler Rubicon Extreme Recon, the new Scout, GMC Hummer, etc.
Disappointing Doug deleted the rich parents the video. He spent a lot of time in detail explaining his story which was really insightful and inspiring.
I think Doug still didn’t get the proper take away - very few people were saying he was a trust fund kid. I think everyone just wanted him to realize that he *did* get some amazing benefits that a lot of people didn’t get from their parents. He still absolutely worked really hard and earned what he got, but it was a little tonedeaf to pretend that he didn’t receive a lot of benefits from a good upbringing.
48:06 don’t forget those of us that have been with you since the Jalopnik days, I fit into neither of these categories and just want to hear about cars. The podcast is nice because its back to storytelling vs your (majority) new car reviews. I don’t know if the rich parents video needed to be deleted so much as never uploaded. I appreciate all you do, but please remember the enthusiasts who aren’t screeching and/or shopping for a new hybrid cuv.
I also think Doug was missing the point on what most of the complaints were on that video - the vast majority of people weren’t saying he had rich parents, which gave him a golden stairway to the top - we were just complaining that he did have a very good, solid upbringing (free college, great supportive parents who had the financial stability to co-sign a Ferrari with him) - which was a big benefit on its own. I think that’s all people wanted him to realize - he didn’t have millions of dollars given to him, but he also wasn’t a poor guy on the street who built his empire from nothing.
Regarding 80's cars that started in the 80's and ended in the 80's? BMW 5 series (e28) and the 6 series (e24) both had M versions in the 80's, debuted in the 80's (for the US market with fuel injection) and were good generally (in my opinion!)
"outside of a casino in Vegas" You mean the trump hotel? Someone blew up a truck in front of the soon to be presidents hotel... "Just in front of a casino" how disingenuous do you have to be to omit that
I do agree that the 2000s are peak in the sense of analog enthusiasts cars, but the 2010s especially 2010-2015 has the best looking cars in my opinion. Examples: 458, p1, laferrari, 918, 675 Lt, f12 etc.
51:11 2000's I'd say European cars with big engines were iconic, like the C63 AMG (6.2L NA V8), E90 M3 (NA V8), E60 M5 (NA V10), V10 Audi R8, V10 Carrera GT, W16 Veyrons. Growing up during that era I remember Mercedes/ BMW duking it out to see who can make the most power with all those big power, big displacement stuff. Also Mustang GTs were making a retro comeback in the mid 2000's with more power, which resulted in the Challenger/ Camaros coming back too. 2010's: Dodge Hellcat/ Demons. In a world where hybrids and electric cars became more common, Dodge was like screw it, bigger engine, more power! 2020's: Tesla Model S Plaid, Tesla Cybertruck. When Electric cars truly really started becoming insane. These two will be collector cars in the future for sure, for electric car lovers.
I wasn’t aware of the rich parents video but i saw a reupload of it on YT. I totally get not wanting to deal with drama for someone in your shoes. You are not some teenage TH-camr chasing clout and I immensely respect you for that. But as a person with influence AND wisdom, that video had many amazing messages for todays generation with arguably the most important one being personal accountability and I think RE uploading it would be a service to the internet in 2025

The last time a foreign automaker tried to buy Nissan, the CEO had to flee Japan in a box
80s homologation cars, Delta Integrale, R-32 GT-R, Audi Quattro, 288 GTO, 959, Lotus Espirit, GNX, Sierra RS Cosworth, 1st Gen M3 and M5
Doug demuro you should review the Ford crown Victoria and Buick park avenue ultra, as well as the old Audi a8
Did the GNX not come out in the 80's? That's a pretty cool car!
There are so many great iconic 80s cars. Ferrari Testarossa, F40, Corvette C4, Delorean DMC12 (okay crap but iconic), BMW E30 M3, Audi Quattro, Porsche 959, Lexus LS 400......
I'm happy to be part of the 3% that watch all of your videos Doug
I just don't argue anywhere lol, I just watch and enjoy
The Mazda Mx-3's crown for the smallest V-6 being taken by (presumably) the AMG One is quite funny to me
I enjoy all of your new, used, exotic, unusual car reviews especially on cars I'v never heard of or will ever purchase as most of the cars you review I can't afford Also I was curious on where you get all fo the state license plates.
47:55 , deleting a controversial video SURELY creates drama...
Doug the type of guy to come to your house unannounced
I didn't watch Doug too often before THIS CAR POD began, but I've watched basically all of his videos since then!
Disappointing Doug deleted the rich parents the video. He spent a lot of time in detail explaining his story which was really insightful and inspiring.
Luckily I watched it in time. Apparently so did all the haters.
THE 80'S WERE A DISASTER... THANKS TO THE GOVERNMENT.
Doug's the kind of guy to not care about drama while simultaneously caring enough about drama to delete an entire video.
They Could hear him "floor it" with the Lightning, road noise and chaos of the 3 ton, 4.1 Second 0-60 time EV pickup plowing down the curb
Happy New Year, C&B! I can't wait to see all the new ideas yall have this year. Maybe Filippo will finally buy a new car 😅
Bugatti's speed record was only set in one direction. They can't run Ehra-Lessien in two directions due to the orientation of the road surface.
Regarding 80's cars that started in the 80's and ended in the 80's? BMW 5 series (e28) and the 6 series (e24) both had M versions in the 80's, debuted in the 80's (for the US market with fuel injection) and were good generally (in my opinion!)
If I may propose the W201 190E, introduced in the 80s, and the 2.3-16 by extension. Totally an 80s car, and some might say quite good!
I’m hammondyouidiot! Thanks for answering my question!!❤
"outside of a casino in Vegas"
You mean the trump hotel? Someone blew up a truck in front of the soon to be presidents hotel...
"Just in front of a casino" how disingenuous do you have to be to omit that
I do agree that the 2000s are peak in the sense of analog enthusiasts cars, but the 2010s especially 2010-2015 has the best looking cars in my opinion. Examples: 458, p1, laferrari, 918, 675 Lt, f12 etc.
I’m not an Acura fan but the RDX is an awesome compact crossover.
Should call this show The Dough Boys. New Year’s resolution time guys - hit the gym!
How much did the Grenadier impact Defender market?!?!?!?!
Smartass 😂
Real
1%
Judging by all the Grenadiers (still) sitting at the dealership in my city.
Zero impact.
I did see 1 the other day. I thought it was a G Wagon at first though 😂
In an alternate universe somewhere Doug is a Turkish man reviewing mansions in a suit with ankle socks and Arvin Haddad is ripping into him.
19:50 about to go from a 987 cayman to a 981 boxster s, and completely agree 😂
I wasn’t aware of the rich parents video but i saw a reupload of it on YT.
I totally get not wanting to deal with drama for someone in your shoes. You are not some teenage TH-camr chasing clout and I immensely respect you for that.
But as a person with influence AND wisdom, that video had many amazing messages for todays generation with arguably the most important one being personal accountability and I think RE uploading it would be a service to the internet in 2025
Kennan is going straight Amish these day
I enjoy watching all of your videos. Is there any way to get Filippo to slow down when he talks so that everyone can understand what he’s saying?
Doug the type of guy to comment "FIRST!!!" on an ad for the new Camry
Politicians need to see this podcast! Spot on
a veyron roadtripping through the darien gap would be incredible
Imo the japanese luxury brand tier is Lexus, Acura, and whats the other one? Acura is special in my opinion thanks to higher performance engines, SH-AWD, great designs, and Honda quality with nicer materials. Im not sure what else you could want other than rwd.
I wanna see a 5-10 mile runway/road with all the “top speed” manufacturers line up & go head 2 head to the finish line to see which car is genuinely the fastest/has the top speed 🤷♂️

51:32 2020s is the decade of the 4 cylinders hybrids replacing high displacement engines
Hey doug, do you have that countach simulator for real? You guys should all run some laps on a short track in like a mx5 cup or something
Backing up the performance SUV timing in 2000s, ML 55 began in 2000 as well.
3:02 - Ha, VWestlife just uploaded a versa 5-speed manual video just yesterday 😅😅
Curious what you guys think about ineos and if it's effecting defender prices
Petition for Doug to do more house reviews!
56:33 Audi Quattro, first shown in 1980, is the definitive 1980's car.
Group B Rally only existed from 1982 to 1986.
The 2024 Genesis GV60 also has a manual mode. What does Doug think of the mode in this car?
Great show as usual. 😱
Doug if you watch the vid you CAN hear him floor it. He hit the gas and burned out and spun the tires when he ran through the crowd. So yes the eyewitness was right. They heard the truck
Yeh, tyre squeal
I doubt they could hear that in the crowd, it doesnt matter much anyway. Its not like you would run away from F150 raptor doing launch control, it would give you like 2 seconds to react
@@cyjanek7818 you literally hear it across the street in the vid. I’m sure the witness was near by and heard it. What are we even talking about
@@diddy2612 I said I dont know why are you talking about it because even if they did hear the car revving they wouldnt start running away "just in case"
The 80's produced the s13 240sx. Look I know its no ferarri, but it is one of the most influential cars of the last 40 years.
Great episode! HNY!
9:00 btw, in Canada the Mx-3 was called Protégé
You may be thinking of the 323. Like I said, in Canada the MX-3 was called the MX-3 Precidia:
“The MX-3 was also marketed as the Mazda MX-3 Precidia in Canada”
en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mazda_MX-3
It was the Precidia for sure. The Protege turned in to the mazda 3
See , I'm that fan that watches videos every time they come out on both channels...my wife said Doug is my bf because I'm always watching him lmao. I just like Doug and the crew, I love the content and enjoy it. Been watching since I think 2017. People just love drama unfortunately lol.
